Smile…it’s your Birthday!

Hello friends,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word is Smile!  Last September when I was visiting MFT with (fellow DT member) Bobby and Michelle Ferguson (a friend I met online), I took a picture of a card in their lovely store that I fell in love with. Finally, nearly a year later I CASED it and added my own touch with the clouds.  It’s not perfect, but I do love how it turned out.  I used the MFT cloud stencil and Oxide inks to do my blending. I ended up making a mask to make it work out completely.

Below you will see a photo of the card that inspired me.

Card Details:  SMILE-wooden stamp, it’s your birthday-Verve, Clouds-Lawn Fawn, Wonky Rectangles-MFT.

Thanks for stopping in and if you have a chance to head over to Just Us Girls, please help us in welcoming our new Guest Emma Delfosse!

JUGS Color Challenge and a Birthday Shout Out!

Jugs Challenge and A Special Happy Birthday

Good Day Crafty Friends!

This week’s Color Challenge over at JUGS is

hosted by the talented Marisa.

She has picked out a great color palette for us to work with!

JUGS185

It seems like when Spring rolls around I am always in need of Baby Shower gifts.

Most of the time I like to give my expectant mothers a gift card,

so that they may purchase what they want and

the dad can be a part of picking out something for his new baby as well.

Don’t you think those poor dads get left out sometimes?

So that is how this Gift-card holder came to be.

It is on it’s way to Michigan for my nephew’s wife’s baby shower!

I left out the Walmart Gift-card itself for the photo because it

was blue and didn’t match my card.

I couldn’t believe they had no pink gift cards!

Here is a peek at the inside of the card.

This card really needs no explanation….the sentiment is from Close to My Heart and the balloons were

made using either a circle punch or my Creative Memories circle cutter… adhered with some pop dots!

They look like they are floating…don’t they?

So…..

The rest of the JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.

Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the

JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week.

See you there!

Just Add Balloons…

Over at Just Add Ink the challenge is to add Balloons to our project.  I knew I wanted to play along so I went looking for a color challenge and a sketch challenge to make it more fun!  I found this great sketch over at Unscripted Sketches and went and checked out what The Play Date Cafe was up to.  I needed to make a masculine birthday card this weekend for my boss and when I saw there color palette, I knew it was going to be perfect!  I took two photos so that you can see the card is a tri-fold.

Happy Birthday!

You can never have enough Birthday cards on hand! This card will be for a co-worker who is having a Birthday tomorrow. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I still am having quite a bit of neck and back pain and working on the computer and stamping makes it worse. I miss posting and being creative on a regular basis,Happy Birthday! but my Dr. says I need to be patient. I am scheduled for an MRI on Friday, hopefully that will give some indication on how long it will be before I am feeling like myself again. We did finally get a new car! We ended up with a Honda Accord and it’s a 2006 and in very good shape. Car shopping is not my cup of tea!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your week and remember to find time to…..

Scrap your heart,

Nancy
