Hello friends, Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word is Smile! Last September when I was visiting MFT with (fellow DT member) Bobby and Michelle Ferguson (a friend I met online), I took a picture of a card in their lovely store that I fell in love with. Finally, nearly a year later I CASED it and added my own touch with the clouds. It’s not perfect, but I do love how it turned out. I used the MFT cloud stencil and Oxide inks to do my blending. I ended up making a mask to make it work out completely.
Below you will see a photo of the card that inspired me.
Over at Just Add Ink the challenge is to add Balloons to our project. I knew I wanted to play along so I went looking for a color challenge and a sketch challenge to make it more fun! I found this great sketch over at Unscripted Sketches and went and checked out what The Play Date Cafe was up to. I needed to make a masculine birthday card this weekend for my boss and when I saw there color palette, I knew it was going to be perfect! I took two photos so that you can see the card is a tri-fold.
The sentiment is from Verve.
The Cardstock is Gina K.
The paper is a mix of CM, Bazzill, and scrap of who knows.
Used my cuttlebug and dots folder for the clouds along with my favorite spellbinders die.
I paper pieced the Hot Air Balloon stamp from Michaels.
Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend.
You can never have enough Birthday cards on hand! This card will be for a co-worker who is having a Birthday tomorrow. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I still am having quite a bit of neck and back pain and working on the computer and stamping makes it worse. I miss posting and being creative on a regular basis, but my Dr. says I need to be patient. I am scheduled for an MRI on Friday, hopefully that will give some indication on how long it will be before I am feeling like myself again. We did finally get a new car! We ended up with a Honda Accord and it’s a 2006 and in very good shape. Car shopping is not my cup of tea!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your week and remember to find time to…..
