Don’t Worry Beach Happy

Hello, Today’s card is a CASE of a wonderful MFT Designer named Tiffany from Ink.Therapy.Designs. Not only is she uber talented she is an absolute sweetheart too! As soon as I laid eyes on the card below, I knew I had to make one of my own. I have linked her fabulous blog up for you above, please go by and leave her some love. You can also follow her on IG HERE!

Isn’t it just fabulous!

Here are a couple of other shots of my card. I used the watercolored smooshing technique for my backgrounds and palm fronds on water-colored paper. I cut strips of blue paper and glued them to some white paper to make my letters. I used some dark blue, and white paint for splatters. I took the small die from the Sandcastle set that is supposed to be the sand for the top of the beach bucket to make my sand mound for my surfboard to stand up in.

I had such a great time making this card and I thank Tiffany for all her inspiration!

I am linking up my card over at Happy Little Stampers– Die Cut Challenge and Make My Monday where they want us to use Splatters.

Card Details: MFT- Shady Palm, Sandcastle Builder, Sand and Surf Dienamics. In Stitches Alphabet Dies, Life’s a Beach Sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative, Nanc’

Sending Sunshine

Hello, I am back today with more blended backgrounds and palm trees. This time I used a fun new stencil from MFT called Watercolor Wash Rectangle. I didn’t want the stencil to take up the entire card front so I shortened it a bit by using the negative that came in the package as you can see below.

After I had removed the stencil, I realized I had forgotten to add a beach for my palm tree to sit on. So, so much for shortening it. LOL, I put everything back in place and wanted to leave some white between the water and the sand and after I was done and removed the stencil I realized I had a gap in the stencil on the sides. However, I really love the way it looks and I call that a happy accident. You will see on the card below that I didn’t make that mistake and the stencil continues with no break.

I am linking up with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and using the middle row of Any Color, Free, CAS. I will also be linking up over on IG with the #SSSIChallenge to make a scene. And I must not forget about Darnell over at NBUS, as my stencil is brand new.

If you are in the States, I hope you have a wonderful 4th! Take care, Nanc’

Have a Relaxing Day

Hello and Happy Monday! I am back today with a card for the MFT-Sketch Challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch and realized it looked like waves, I knew I had to play along. Plus it also gave me another excuse to play with my new MFT Kit and accessories a bit longer. As I was thinking about what I wanted to do with this sketch, I decided to do something a bit unexpected, and thought why not a cream palm tree? Plus I stumbled upon a piece of this fun sand dollar paper and thought it might be fun to use as part of my waves.

Card Details: MFT- Sand and Surf Dies, Shady Palm Dies, Sand Castle Builder Dies, Itty Bitty Summer Sentiment.

I am going to link this card up over at Happy Little Stampers-Die Cut Challenge as well!

I am not quite ready to put this set away so stay tuned for more summer vibe cards!

I hope you get to do something today that brings you JOY! Take care, Nanc’

Happy Summer

This is my second post of the day so if you are looking for Just Us Girls, please scroll down!

For this card, I incorporated the colors from My Favorite Things Color Challenge with the great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. As you can see I am still smitten with my new stash from MFT.

Here is another card I made that is just a tiny bit different. I am loving the way the backgrounds turned out and they were so quick to do!

Card Details: Shady Palm dies-MFT, Postage die-Hero Arts, the sentiments are both from MFT-Life’s a Beach and Itty Bitty Summer, I made the scene using some straight edge acetate, torn paper, and some Oxide inks. I splattered the palm leaves with white paint and green ink. The tiny sun on the first card is so old but it’s actually from MFT as well.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Take care, Nanc’

Hope Your Day is as Relaxing…

Hello, I am back again today with another card using the latest Card Kit called Beach Day from my favorite things. Unfortunately, the kit is sold out now but I think some of the individual pieces are still available. Today’s card was totally inspired by The Card Concept– By the Sea, as you see below. I used all the colors and the beach theme as well in my design.

Card Details: The background of the card is done directly on the card base with various inks along with straight edges and ripped copy paper. The Beach Bungalow is in the MFT-Beach Day Kit along with the greeting. The birds are also in the kit but part of the Shady Palms Die grouping. I totally got carried away with my water splatters and they got super large, but luckily covered up most with my sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderful day and get a chance to get creative and or do something that brings you joy! Take care, Nanc’

Life’s a beach

Yes, I did it again! This Florida girl had to have this new Beach Day MFT kit! I actually got it this afternoon and saw it on my front step when I was returning home from a difficult visit with my dad. It wasn’t him that made it hard, it’s trying to get the staff to take proper care of him that is the challenge. I come home each and every time a different person, as my hubby likes to remind me. It totally wipes me out and is depressing as can be. So I told hubby I was going to stow away for a couple hours and try to console myself with paper.

You know how much I love the recent MFT Couch Kit, as it was evident in the number of cards I posted. As of right now, I like this kit just as much. Well done MFT!

This card evolved many times, and I went back and forth with having the waves in the back or front of the card. Luckily for me, I realized before it was too late, that the brown paper that I was using as my base had script on it. (I told you I was a little distracted) So there was no flipping the waves that were already glued down and the water had to stay in the background of my design. I do love that the first wave at the very top of the card has a fun edge. That entire panel was decorated and then adhered to the card base.

I am playing along over at Double D Challenges where their challenge is Beach Time. My heart goes out to the Design Team as they just lost a wonderful team member and someone I knew as well. Hugs to each of you ladies! I will also be playing at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Card Details: Mft Beach Day card Kit and the added accessories of Sand Castle Builder and Sand and Surf dies. I used Fun Foam and dimensionals as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you did something today that brought you JOY! Nanc’
