Hello Friend

Hello, It’s Saturday and you know what that means! It’s time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls! It happens to be Color Week and Ina is our hostess. I love the trio of colors she has for us; Turquoise, Mustard, and Black. Great selection, Ina!

Card Details: Today’s card came together very quickly. First, I made a stencil using Spellbinder’s Deckled Edge rectangles. Then I blended my background in Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. The butterflies are from Birch Press Designs. The pre-made foiled greeting is from Pink Fresh Studio. A small gold heart and some black Nuvo drops to finish it off, (that I regret using now.)

Now, pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out the DT’s cards along with our new fabulous guest-Michele Ferguson! Welcome, Michele! So happy you are with us this month!

Happy crafting, Nanc’

Sending Well Wishes…

Hello, I am back today with card 2 of 4 featuring Butterfly Kisses from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders. This time I have incorporated the gorgeous rose stamp along with the butterflies in my design. I had a hard time photographing this card, as you have to look closely to see the Loops embossing Folder-also from Spellbinders.

There are three New Stamp sets and Dies being added to the Spellbinders/Simon Hurley line-up. You can find them all HERE! Each one is really amazing.

Butterfly Kisses

Loops Embossing Folder

Spellbinders 6

Card Details: First, I heat-embossed the flowers and butterflies in Gold Embossing powder. Then I chose the Spellbinders Loop Embossing Folder and black paper for the background. That Embossing Folder is becoming one of my new favorites. I used Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink to add color to my butterflies and then took a Prisma colored pencil for the centers and a bit of shading. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Black ink and comes in the set. Some gold dots and dimensionals to finish it off.

I certainly appreciate you coming by! Take care and happy stamping, Nanc’

Happy Birthday-Winged Things

Hello, I am glad you are here! Today is our first challenge of the New Year over at Seize the Birthday! Cathy is our wonderful hostess and she selected Winged Things as our Topping. Since I am still catching up on Life these days I needed to make something fairly quick, so I decided to case a card I recently received. The card I chose was a beautiful sympathy card from STB-DT member Linda. that I have pictured below. I could not get over the shine Linda had on her card so I reached out to thank her for thinking of me and to ask how she did it. I found out that she was inspired by DT member Marcia on Color Hues. LOL Love when things happen like that. Guess where all this inspiration originally started for this card? Whom else… Jennifer McGuire. I will link the video up for you below.

The shine is hard to capture on mine, but you can see it on Lindas!

Jennifer McGuire’s Video: Faux Textured Metal with Perfect Pearls.

We have a few changes taking place at Seize the Birthday this year so I have linked that post for you HERE as well! One of the changes is; if you are selected as our overall winner and used the topping, you will be invited back as a Surprise Party Guest! I am really happy about this change. So now we will have our regular Surprise Party Guest and one previous winner.

Here is a close-up.

Card Details: Butterfly-Saavy Die, Oxide Inks, Perfect Pearls, Embossing Folder-Cuttlebug

Affiliate Link-Greeting is from Spellbinders- Mini Everyday Sentiments- Hot Foil. This set is wonderful, I got it from my son for Christmas and I have a pic of all the sentiments that are in the set below!

I hope you will stop by Seize the Birthday and check out my amazing team’s cards and they will inspire you to join us! I will be back tomorrow with a card using some new Spellbinders products that may have the same winged creatures as this card!

Stay tuned! Nanc’

Butterfly in Halloween Colors

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am back home after our trip to California and have got lots to catch up with, so I will get right to it. Today over at Seize the Birthday Vicki has chosen Halloween Colors as our topping. I recently purchased this incredible Butterfly Emboss and Cut from Pink and Main and I have been itching to play with it. I thought I could get away with using it for this challenge and make myself a somewhat Monarch-looking butterfly. It embosses and cuts at the same time. I have linked it up for you HERE!

Card Details: First I took my leaves stencil from Miss Ink Stamps and made my background using three shades of Oxide Inks and then splattered it with some black paint. I had this white frame on my desk that was made with my Lattice die from Whimsy Stamps. So, I backed it with some orange cardstock to frame in the butterflies. After I embossed and cut out the butterflies, (which are linked up for you above) I used more oxide inks and a bit of white paint to make my butterflies come to life. I used a small holly die from Spellbinders to make my gold body centers and random dots. I can’t remember where the sentiment is from as it was waiting to be used in my bits and boxes drawer. I used some foam tape around the frame to give the card some dimension and to rest the butterflies wings on.

I am linking up with two other challenges; Darnell over at NBUS as my butterflies are new and Happy Little Stampers-Anything Goes with Dies.

I hope you will pop on over to Seize the Birthday and play along with us. The DT and our guest Asa have some really great cards over there for inspiration. Take care, Nanc’

Butterflies

Hello, I hope you are doing well! Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and Vicki is our hostess and she has picked an easy and wonderful word for us. She chose Butterflies. I told you it was easy!

We also have a brand new guest starting with us this month! I would like to say welcome to Cathy Roffey, who happens to be my teammate over at Seize the Birthday. We are happy to have you with us, my friend!

Card Details: The background of this card was inspired by a card I saw somewhere and I can’t for the life of me find it again, so sorry about that. I made a stencil using one of the butterflies inside the set from Birch Press designs and sponged the background. The set has 3 separate butterflies. The Happy Birthday is from Neat and Tangled. The stitched letters are from MFT. I speckled the background with some acrylic paint.

Have a great day and I certainly hope you might swing on by Just Us Girls and check out all the cards and play along!

Take care, Nanc’

Polka Dots

Hello, Happy Sunday! Today over at The Paper Players, it’s CAS week and the theme is Polka Dots. The sweet Anne Marie is our hostess this week. This is my Second card this week using a fun background that I made a few weeks back that was just waiting to be used on a card. Not sure I like this one as much as I like the Lily card I made for STB, but it will have to do. If you didn’t see that post, just scroll a few posts back and you will find it.

I am also linking up with the gals over at Happy Little Stampers and their Anything Goes with Stencils challenge.

Card Details: Background shape was made with a stencil I made with a Spellbinders Die. Then I used Honey Bee Stamps heart stencil and Oxide Inks to make my background. The Butterfly die is from Saavy that I backed with Polka dotted paper. It was a very quick card to put together.

Just for you…

Hello,  Today’s card was inspired by the fun Sketch going on over at CAS(E) this Sketch. Not only did the sketch intrigue me, but DT member Michele Ferguson’s card really got me excited to play along. It is fabulous and got my wheels a crackin’. I have had these “new to me” butterflies from SU on my desk for quite some time and I am glad I found a reason to use them.  I started off using 3 colors of Oxide inks, some water, and a paintbrush along with a SU-striped stencil to make my rays of color. I did quite a few layers and I love the way it turned out. Next, I did the smooshing technique for the butterflies.  Finally, I fussy cut the butterflies out and all was going smoothly until it was time for the sentiment.  UGH!  It looks terrible! I guess I rocked the block a bit.  I was going to start over or cover it with a tag and then remembered my word “Acceptance” (New Year’s Resolution) and refrained. Folks, it wasn’t easy!

I am so glad you stopped by today!  Happy creating, Nanc’

Just for you…

Hello, and happy weekend! It’s time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  I must say when I started thinking about this card my mind went one way and the card completely ended entirely a different way by the time I was done. Sometimes that happens and it’s part of the process…right?

For my card, I have a mix of companies…Gina K-Stencil, Pretty Pink Posh-Butterflies, Altenew-sentiment, Paper Trey-Edge die, Oxide Inks.

Thanks to both of our Guests…Hannelie and Mary for being with us this month!

Before I go I have to share a picture of Lisa Kind (another JUG Head) and I together.  She was on vacation in Florida recently and we met one morning for coffee and breakfast. I absolutely love meeting fellow DT members and she is as sweet and as “Kind” as I thought she would be.  Lisa, I am so very glad we could make it happen!

Please ignore my stance as I was trying not to look like a giant as I tend to do. LOL

Head on over to Just Us Girls and check out the team and our guest cards, you won’t be disappointed!  Nanc’

I Love Butterflies…

The challenge photo over at JUGS is of a beautiful Butterfly and that’s what I have for you today!  I have for you a real simple card that I am very happy with ( I don’t get to say that to often).  The stamped image is from Stamp TV and it’s called Take Flight “love” was cut with my Cricut and the word “with” was made with individual letter stamps that I have had for years, that work really well in a pinch!

Thanks so much for your visits and the comments are sooooo appreciated! HUGS!

Sometimes the smallest things…

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart!  Isn’t that the nicest sentiment!!  It’a a new Stamp I found over at Verve that I just had a chance to put some ink on.  I combined it with a Butterfly Stamp I have had for quite sometime, but it is still one of my favorites from Stamp Tv. This card is for a Challenge on Stamp Tv to case one of the Design Team members named Donna Baker, here is the card I cased.  I really enjoy doing this type of challenge, because you get to peruse through someones wonderful gallery and pick any card to Case. It’s so much fun, it’s almost like window shopping! LOL

Thanks for stopping in and sharing a minute of your day with me!

Hugs,
