The other day as I was going around to my favorite blogs that I love to follow and I came across this new challenge site called 10 Minute Craft Dash.
As I was looking at the DT’s wonderful examples, I thought there is no way this girl can make a card in 10 minutes…10 hours yes….but not 10 minutes! LOL….
Well, all week I have been going back an revisiting this site and figured…how you going to know unless you try. So try I did!
I DID IT!!!
9 minutes and 46 seconds!
I would have to say that having a timer sitting next to you is a little nerve racking, and I hope I didn’t cheat because I had everything laid out ready to go ahead of time.
I don’t think I would call this a complete success, as I am not sure yet what I think of the card. Yes, I made it in under 10 minutes but, not with out some major bumps along the way.
The sentiment got rocked and has a shadow,(hate that) the chalk was suppose to just go on the embossed image and not on the background but, that didn’t work so well.
So at the last minute I decided to chalk up the background very lightly to cover my mistakes.
I was going for a softer feel!
So what do you think?
Sometimes I look at it and think it’s kinda cool and then other times I think it looks like a card I made in 10 minutes.
I must say though…it was fun using my chalks again!
I forgot how much I enjoy that art medium.
You can’t tell in the photo, but I also used my scor-pal
and put a dividing line between the image and the sentiment.
I am also linking this card up to the Paper Players…One Layer Challenge!
I think I have only made a total of 3 One layer cards before….it is a big challenge for me!
Now, have I inspired you to see if you can meet either of these challenges?
Speaking of Freshly Made…the card I have for you today is exactly that…hot of the presses! I thought I had run out of time to participate in the Freshly Made Sketch #28, but realized I had one more day! Whew! That was close! The flowers on the card I did with chalk…I like the softness it gives them. The butterflies are just doubled using a MS punch. TFL
Hope you had a great weekend and are as ready as I am to start the work week…well sort of,
Thanks for all your wonderful comments, they are so appreciated!
I thought is was time since my website name is Scrapperatheart…that I incorporate some of my scrapbook pages onto my blog. These are two of some of my favorite pages. The only thing I dislike about them is my handwriting. They say one of the true signs of a meaningful scrapbook is one with the creators handwriting in it. So there you go! Like or dislike I guess it’s meaningful. LOL I do find that when I find something with my mother’s handwriting on it, I do treasure it more….especially recipe cards. As you might notice in the photos we are all a lot younger here…well I didn’t say my scrapbooking was current. Who’s is right?
I hope you have a wonderful day and I have inspired you to scrapbook again if you haven’t in awhile!
Although my card looks nothing like the inspiration photo that you will see, at least it got my Mojo up and running! I have been in quite a slump lately! I hope my luck changes from here on out! The challenge is over at Stamp TV.
It also fits a late challenge for Birthday cards over at Clearly i Stamp.
This photo makes you want to go stay at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast!
A week ago over at Stamp TV, Gina K inspired us to create a card using a gate fold. It is not difficult at all to do especially is you have a Score-Pal. If you don’t have a Score-Pal………GET ONE! You won’t regret it!!
I have only attempted this type of card once before and it was eons ago!
Hope you have a fabulous Friday my friends and thanks as always for looking!
This card is for a new site I have stumbled across and they seem to have amazing challenges and a huge following so I thought I would give it a try! It’s called Crazy 4 Challenges ! Check it out here! The challenge was to use texture! This card also qualifies for this weeks color challenge over at Stamp TV as well, the only colors you could use were Pink and White. I know my card looks like it has peach in it, but I promise the ribbon is pink! It’s a new camera, but it likes to change the shades sometimes. :{ (grumpy face here) You probably can’t tell, but I took pink chalk ever so lightly on the embossed part of the card.
