Candles

Hello Friends,  We have the perfect topping for you this week at Seize the Birthday! Everyone loves a few candles on their cake don’t they?  As long as it’s just a few and not the actual number, and you can hardly see the cake amongst the barrage of flames. LOL  Anyways, you get the picture! That is our topping this week at STB! I went with a really colorful and basic card this time around.  I do love those candle stencils from Elizabeth Craft Designs and my fun new THICK SU Hexagon EF that you can barely see in the photo. Trust me, it makes really deep pronounced lines! The sentiment is one from Close to My Heart and the flower is MFT.

Have a wonderful day and please head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out the rest of the Designers cards along with our guest Kristie! Their creativity far exceeds mine this week! Hugs, Nanc’

4 Cards for CAS(E) this Sketch

dsc_0317

cts_197Hello Friends,  I hope you enjoyed your day, however you chose to spend it.  I spent part of my morning, since I was up at the crack of dawn due to the time change, in my studio making these 4 cards.  I saw the perfect sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, that I knew would help make these cards come together quickly…and that it did.  I got out one of my favorite stamp sets Beautiful Day- by Altenew and went to work.  The ink colors I used are from SU, they are Pool Party and Tip Top Taupe.  I mix and matched the stunning flowers with some sentiments from Verve, Close to My Heart, and Hero Arts. I used my Copic marker BG10 to add some shadows, or in one case colored the entire background. I just adore using my Fiskars cutter and victorian blade to add some frilliness to my cards.  Some might say that it’s kinda my signature as I do it a lot.

Let’s go look at the rest of them, shall we.

Washi Tape Birthday!

DSC_0158 copy

STB

Hello Friends,  Boy do we have a fun and easy ” Topping” for you this time over at Seize the Birthday!  The topping for this challenge is to use Washi Tape on your card and or project!  Don’t you wish you were the brains behind this amazing product?  Okay, let me show you how I incorporated my Washi tape into my card. The first thing I did was adhere my tape onto some coordinating card stock.  Then I got out my super cool candle die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I cut them out in interesting ways.  I wanted to make the candles very hip, different, and eye catching.  So as you can see by the photos that is what I did, by placing the dies in different spots on the tape.   The sentiment Happy on my card is from Verve and the word Birthday is from Close to My Heart.  The paper is a mixture of old Creative Memories dp and Stampin Up.

DSC_0155

17  I also am linking this card up with the sketch over at The Challenge blog.  You can do the sketch and or the color challenge…the choice is yours. I chose just to do the sketch this time around.

That wraps it up for me for today…please come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us! You should see what my talented teammates did with their washi tape!

Hope to see you there!

Sweet Birthday

It's Your Burfday

Over at Seize the Birthday this time we have a SWEET toppings option for you to try!  I know man I mean woman cannot live on sweets alone, but personally I think I could!  Every night hubby and I have ice cream before bed, what can I say, it’s my weakness for sure!  So when this topping came around, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! I think the sequins made a nice added touch …however hubby said that sprinkles tend to be shaped more like an oval then a circle…there is always a critic in every crowd! LOL  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.  The cone actually folds open, and originally I was going to stick part of the ice-cream scallops down inside the cone, however It just didn’t look right to me, so I glued it shut and went with this layout with the ice cream on the outside. Love the SU embossing folder that made the cone so realistic.  The card is rather self explanatory. However, the DP at the bottom worked well…don’t you think?  It’s from DCWV called The Sweet.

STB

Now what do you think of when your given the word SWEETS?  Why not join us this time over at Seize the Birthday!  Always remember that over at STB the topping is OPTIONAL, if you don’t want to use it you don’t have to, just make any type of Birthday Project!

While your at it there is also a SWEET SEPTEMBER challenge over at the Verve Blog and I couldn’t wait to link up my project there as well!  I had a great time combining these challenges this week…hope you have been inspired just a little bit if not by my work….then to run out and get yourself some ice-cream! LOL

Take care and make sure you find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul,

I got this cool candle die cut by Elizabeth craft designs about a month ago and

Love those candles…aren’t they so cool?

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

Now please come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us, and

Freshly Made Sketch

Hello Friends,

Today’s card is for this great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

When I saw all the circles and then remembered I needed an upcoming Birthday

card using balloons…I knew I could blend those two things together perfectly!

FMS Final 123-001

In hindsight I wish I hadn’t started putting the doodle dots everywhere with a pen.

I cut out the 50 using my Cricut and the balloons are made with a MS punch,

along with the small hearts.

The sentiment is from Close To My Heart in the Birthday Occasions set.

Some pop dots, ribbon and black twine and that sums it up.

Have a spectacular day and find sometime to be creative,

Nanc’

Crafty Card Gallery and more…

Hello Crafters,

I am here today with a very Clean and Simple card for you

along with a very quick post!

IMG_0006

Over at the Crafty Card Gallery the team was asked to make a fall card with

a pumpkin or orange on it.  Being that I only have one pumpkin stamp…

and I recently used it, ( god for bid I use it again…so soon) lol….. I thought I would go ahead

and make a fall card with orange on it instead!

The stamps are a mixture of Gina K, Close to My Heart, and Stampin Up.

Finished it off with…. pop dots, some twine, a button and some bling!

I am also linking this card up to the following challenges:  Addicted to CAS…..

the code word for ACAS this time is…

ATCAS - code word autumn

Along with CASology where their cue card is……

Week 65 - Crisp

Have a great Hump Day!

JUGS Wild Card and Mixed Media

IMG_00055

JUGS204

This week over at Just Us Girls….it’s time for our Wild Card Challenge.

We have a Wild Card Challenge when we happen to have 5 Saturdays in a month.

Marisa is our go to gal this week and she has chosen

“Distressing” as our theme.  Great idea Marisa!!

I just so happen to have recently gotten a distressing tool

from Stampin Up that works great.  Mind you, I have been using the sides of

a pair of scissors for years and it’s worked well…but this is a little safer. LOL

I also think it does a better job.

I am also linking this card to a really fun challenge site called

Mixed Media Color Challenge.  You have to check it out!

Very talented ladies run this site!  Their work is mind blowing!

They are giving away an amazing gift this time!

AMMCC6 Graphic

Here are a few things I did to create this card.

I used a clear block, some moment rose bud ink,

and a spritz or two of water  to create my background

on my watercolor paper.  Love how easy this is!  You just

ink up your block….spritz it with water and stamp!

Then I Heat embossed my dandelion flowers with white embossing powder.

My fence posts or gates were cut out with my Cricut.

I sure hope you can tell what they are….I was worried about this!

They are two fence gates that meet in the middle.

Added some Washi tape and the rest is rather self explanatory!

Hope you have a fantastic long weekend!  I can’t tell you how

happy I am to have an extra day to catch up on some Creative time…..I hope!

I will be back tomorrow with a new challenge from CAS on Sunday!
