Playing Cards with Friends @ CH

Hello, We have a special challenge starting over at Color Hues!  The Color Hues Design Team is Playing Cards with Michele Ferguson!I Card Everyone! YAY!  I was so delighted when she asked if this was something we might like to do and of course, I replied YES, right away!  Who wouldn’t!  Thanks, Michele!

For this challenge not only are we using the Colors RED and Blue, Michele asked the DT to incorporate STARS and or STRIPES in our Design!  Now, since Color Hues is strictly a Color Challenge the stars and stripes are  NOT going to be required from our participants, but if you decide you want to add them, you certainly may!

I made a bunch of cards like the one above with various color combos and I have just a few below to show you!

I am also playing along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge where they have the perfect photo for the beginning of July!

Card Details: I made my own background stencil using a deckled edge die from Spellbinders. I sponged the background with Oxide inks leaving the centers very light or nearly white. Then I sponged the stars using a SU stencil. I just moved it around a lot to get some stars to overlap each other. The graduation cap is from SSS, the Congrats script text is from Catherine Pooler and the other one is from MFT. I added a few stars with die cuts and punches in silver and black. I used Dimensionals and sparkly paper on the grad cap.

Now, I certainly hope you head on over to Color Hues and Michele Ferguson’s blog to see all the cards they have for you, and they will inspire you to play along! They certainly inspired me!

Take care and I hope you do something today that makes you happy! Nanc’

Embossing Folders @JUGS

Hello, It is Saturday already and time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls. Vicky has chosen an easy Trend for us to enjoy and hopefully you will too! All you need to do is use an Embossing Folder. I think the hardest part would be to decide which one. LOL If you are anything like me you have at least 20 to choose from.

I am also going to play along over at Happy Little Stampers – Die Cut Challenge, as I often do.

Card Details: Embossing Folder-Stampin Up, the onesie and button dies are from MFT and very old, and the greeting is from Stampin Up. Postage die is Hero Arts. I adore the DSP, that I believe I found at Hobby Lobby.

Now, I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out the cards by my fabulous teammates and our guest and join us! Take care, Nanc’

Congratulations

Hello, It’s the middle of January already, and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Julie is our wonderful hostess this time around and the colors that she selected are Silver and White. Such a nice clean combo but sometimes can be a bit tricky to photograph, especially if you use mirrored paper like I have. The lace-type floral background in the shape of a heart, that I have in the photo to show you, is an oldie but a goodie from SU called-Bloomin Heart. It always makes for a great wedding card.

I hope to see you over at Color Hues! We have lots of great inspiration from the Design Team and our talented guest Stephanie Lanzalotto is with us too! Welcome, Steph! I know you will be inspired!

I am linking up with the ladies over at Happy Little Stampers-Anything Goes with Dies.

Card Details: Every single die and or greeting on my card is from Stampin Up. I heat embossed the sentiment in silver. I have a few silver rhinestones too. Let me know if you have any questions.

Happy creating, Nanc’

Stars and Stripes

Hi, Boy oh boy do we have the perfect challenge starting today over at The Paper Players. Anne Marie has chosen Stars and Stripes appropriately enough on this July 4th Holiday Weekend! What a fun graphic she put together too as it is full of inspiration. It certainly inspired me, if you couldn’t tell!

Card Details: I was in the need of a baby card and you can never go wrong when you pull out the great die set by MFT. The white stars are a die are from Your Next Stamp and the greeting is from Stampin Up. The wonky rectangle is also MFT.

For this Child, I Prayed

Hello, It is the 5th Sunday of the month so it is time for the fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge over at The Paper Players. Laurie has come up with a fun board for us to pick from. I don’t know about you but I really enjoy these types of challenges, as it gives you so many different options to chose from. I have chosen the top row of die-cut, animal, and scene.

Card Details: I used a negative heart stencil and an MFT cloud stencil to make my cloud background. The cute dragons are also from MFT and they are colored with Copics and Prisma Colored Pencils. The cloud dies are also MFT and I didn’t like them stark white so I took a regular number 2 pencil and my finger and gave them some smudgy shading. I pulled out an older Verve stamp set for my greeting. I am pretty pleased with how this turned out and I can’t always say that. ;). I even gave the momma dragon some eyebrows.

For more fabulous inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team!

3 Shades of Blue

Hello, Here we are back to Saturday again, and time for another challenge at Just Us Girls. When I saw these colors my mind went straight to a baby card. I also had the MFT hearts die still on my desk for a card I will post later today and thought it would make a perfect background.

Card Details: The greeting, the little Elephant, and Balloons, heart die background, are all from MFT. I used some Copics and colored pencils for my medium. The white circle has been embossed with a hearts EF from SU but it’s hard to see in the pic. I just love how the felt balloons turned out. The background is designer paper.

We hope you will come on over to Just Us Girls and join the team and I for color week.

Take and try to find some joy in your day, Nanc’

Love you to the moon:  Moon stamp, Wooden sentiment from Michaels, Oxide Inks, rolling hills edge die-Lawn Fawn, star dies are from Your Next Stamp.

Thanks for stopping in! Nanc’

Colors at MFT

Hello, Back again today with the Color Challenge at MFT. I needed some Congratulatory Baby cards for the store and hadn’t even inked up these giraffes as of yet, so here they are. I paired my giraffes with the leaves from MFT-   I didn’t do any blending on the leaves as in the set they have both a background stamp and the outline too. Even the frame and the grass are MFT. The sentiment is Verve.

I am going to link up with Darnell over at NBUS too, as the Giraffes are new to me.

Okay, I gotta run as I got a very late start today! I slept in…WHAT that never happens!

Hope this post finds you enjoying your day! Nanc’

Travel

Hello, It’s August first! It’s really hard to believe! It has been a fast year despite all the downtime we all have had at home.   However, now it’s the weekend and time for Word Week at Just Us Girls.  The word as you can see is Travel. I have a graduation card for you using the fun Stampin Up Hot Air Balloon die. I love this set but never pull it out to use very often. Each section of the balloon comes in pieces so you can change the colors as you go down before you put on the overlay die.  I hope you can see and understand what I mean.  The clouds are from MFT.  I used lots of dimensionals to lift my balloon into the sky.

We have a new guest joining us this week and it is Lisa Elton!  Welcome, Lisa!  So glad to have you along!

Come join us at Just Us Girls we would love to have you. Nanc’
