CAS

Over at CAS on Sunday we have a new challenge….

Get Well Soon

Here is our sponsor for this month…

Iva Nova Chest

This is the fabulous prize that is up for grabs!

Aren’t those colors beautiful?

For my card I used mostly Stampin Up products.

I just love the Summer Silhouette Collection!

The Get Well sentiment is also SU, but I bought that separately.

The mason Jar, I just LOVE, but I don’t know who makes it,

I bought it at a privately owned stamping store!

I love it so much that It stays on my desk at arms length.

Hope your having an amazing day!

Until next time…..Scrap Your Heart…I find it feeds the soul!

Who doesn’t love Sunflowers?

Happy Monday….LOL!

Today I am thrilled to share with you a card I was dabbling with on and off

all weekend.  Yes, it took me most of the weekend to finally get it to come

together the way I had envisioned.  LOL

The creative process began when I saw this week’s Dynamic Duos colors along with

a gorgeous Inspiration Photo….over at Curtain Call (I love sunflowers )…and

this week’s Muse card over at Case Study.

collage

Let me show you the card and then…. “I have some explaining to do!”

( read that in a Ricky Ricardo voice from Lucy) LOL

Sunflowers

SF3

When it comes to the Dynamic Duos…I sure hope it’s okay that I added brown in my card…

I noticed some of the Design Team had done the same. (Fingers crossed)

For Curtain Call….I am right on target my card screams inspiration from the photo!

The only thing missing is some burlap!  Need some of that!

Last, but not least….for the Case Study Muse card….I used the obvious flower as my inspiration and the fence mimics the

vertical stripes that are in the sample…I realize mine aren’t bright and bold…but I hope it will suffice!

Also, the vellum piece I replaced it with the 2 cross pieces on my fence.

Now, here are a few details of how I made my card!

The background woodgrain fence is a stamp from Stampabilites.

The sunflower is a stamp I have had for years that I got at a Garage sale….LOVE it!

I used my Spectrum Noir pens to color my flowers and then fussy cut them…don’t look to close!

Finally, that cool grass…is a die cut I got from Impression Obsession….Isn’t it the coolest!

Added the hemp and some distressing and Wahla!

Thanks for sticking with me, this was a long post, I so appreciate it!!!

Have a fantastic day!

Card Storage Box

Hello everyone!

I have my cards available for purchase at work in the teacher’s lounge, (lucky me)

but have wanted to make a more attractive way to display them.

(BTW I donate almost half the proceeds to our Relay for Life team every year.)

Well, I finally came up with an alternative.  Yes, I know I could have gone to Michaels eons ago

and purchased a pretty box to use, but I wanted to make something myself!

Mind you this isn’t drop dead gorgeous or wasn’t to difficult to make….its

very basic and simple….just like me!

Here are a few snap shots !

IMG_0007Someone gave this box to my hubby at work…they are always donating to the art teacher!  Lucky Me!

IMG_0014

I have had this paper since the dawn of time….no really I have!  Had to keep with the green theme

so the base would match.

IMG_0021

After they were punched, I used my Scorpal to help make a definite center so that wrapping

these strips on the edges of the box became easy!  Love my Scor-Pal!

IMG_0005_2

Cut out the letters with my Cricut.

Embossed them with my Cuttlebug Dots folder.

Backed them with my SU label punch, added some flowers

and used pop dots to give them some height.

IMG_0004Decided to alter the divider tabs to make them my own instead of what they had already written.

Excuse the sides of my light box…I didn’t want to crop the photo…wanted to leave it as is!

Each card is in a plastic sleeve for protection from fingers!

Thanks for stoppin’ in to check on me!

I will be back tomorrow night with my 500th post SURPRISE Blog Candy Giveaway WINNER!

Good Luck!

Scraps….

IMG_0045

Over at ABC Challenges they have asked us to Use Up Our Scraps!

ABC challenge badge 2013

I am the QUEEN of Scraps!

I save everything down to a punched out flower…that I can simply

punch out again at any given moment.  Why do I do this?….I am not sure!

My scrap paper is held in a Large Accordian

file folder by color, that I got from Creative Memories back when I was a consultant.

They unfortunately don’t carry it any longer.  😦

Why is it that the good products always go away?

It’s the best thing since slice bread IMO!

That red gingham paper and the wavy brown piece are probably 10 years old at least

and my coffee cup scraps are close to that as well!

This card was my demo with my some friends over the weekend

at a get together and they loved it!

Hope you have an amazing day!

I will see you again on Sunday!

Thanks

Photo Inspiration Challenge

JUGS199

Today we have a SWEET photo inspiration challenge for you over at

Just Us Girls that my fellow SWEET and creative teammate Lisa came up with!

She sure can pick em…can’t she!!!

This was so much fun!

JUGS

I was hesitant to use this huge strawberry stencil that my hubby had

made for me ages ago….but after much dileberation I think it

worked out just fine!  I decided my stem needed a bit of texture so

I ran it through my Cuttlebug and that did the trick!

The little seeds I made with a paper punch that I happen to have

and it worked out perfectly!

The sentiments are a mixture of 3 sets, SU, Verve and Michaels.

The DP  is from DCWV and is called SWEET!

Now, please head on over to the Just Us Girls blog and join us!

We would absolutely love it if you did!

Here are the links to all my SWEET teammates

blogs to help you out!

Have a wonderfully SWEET and creative day!

Challenge

Good day friends,

This time over at CAS on Sunday we have asked our participants to use

Kraft and twine in your Clean and Simple project.  It was nice to dial it back down

a little bit yesterday and make something simple and my reward

when I was finished was to clean up the wreck in my studio.

It felt like I was be strangled by all my supplies and I was shrinking! LOL

I feel much better now!

Make sure  you join us over at CAS on Sunday!!!

The prize this week is sponsored by

sponsorbuttonforpost-400-1

And they are giving away a Gift Certificate to their shop!

Here is a link to all my fellow DT members too

for lots of inspiration!

I am also linking this up to the Clean and Simple challenge over at

 Until next time…happy crafting!

Mixed Media Take Two

YIKES I JUST REALIZED I DIDN’T PUT IN ANY CREAM!!!

(INSERT MAJOR SAD FACE!)  SORRY ABOUT THAT!

I wanted to try my hand again at Mixed Media and I stumbled upon this

great Challenge site called the Mixed Media Color Challenge and I

felt like I hit the jackpot!….I took it as a positive sign.

Not sure I had as much such success as last time and I kinda

ended up embellishing it more than I had originally planned,

but I still enjoyed creating it!

MM

AMMCC3 Graphic-1

Here are a few additional snapshots to show you that I in fact

do have some mixed media under there.

Started with straight blue ink.

IMG_0003

Applied Gesso with a Feather brush.

IMG_0004

First mistake….I put glitter on the stamped leaf image

while the ink was wet.  (Note to self-Glitter should be LAST!)

Versamark doesn’t stick well to glitter.

IMG_0005

Added some other images using white ColorBox ink and

Stampin UP- Turquoise  (not in photo).

IMG_0009

The white ink wasn’t vibrant enough so let’s try

white embossing powder.

IMG_0011

Used my fingers to ink up the edges and do some blending!

IMG_0013

Since the middle of the card the leaves were so hard to

see, that’s when I decided to embellish it more!

Hope you have a great day…and if you have time

go check out the Mixed Media Challenge..

I linked it up for you!

Enjoy,

Nanc’
