Sweet Friend

Hello, I am back today with one more card. How do you feel about pastels this time of year, and more particularly white pumpkins? Well, it seems that there are no rules these days when it comes to Fall and I love that! Have you seen all the pastel Fall cards around the globe lately? So much inspiration out there that I just had to give it a try.

I am linking up this card that has a million die cuts…LOL to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

Card Details: The background Lattice die is from Whimsy Stamps and it was cut down. All the garden pieces along with the bench are from MFT- Spring Garden. The pumpkin die is from Spellbinders in the Truckin Through the Season set. The greeting is from Gina K. The grass is an older die from MFT.

Have a lovely day and take care, Nanc’

Happy Birthday and Sympathy

Hello, I hope you can bear with me a little longer until I have exhausted all of my ideas when it comes to Fall leaves. There might be and end in sight, just so you know! 😉

The ideas started flowing again to break out these leaves when I saw the challenge over at Global Design Project, so they are to blame…LOL. This week they asked us to CAS the card below. While I was at it, I knew that Addicted to Stamps and More had a stencils and or die cut challenge going on too that I could join. I am totally loving this color combo!

I tried to mimic the two corners design using the leaves and then the die cut circles to get dimension. Then I used a stencil in place of the brick wall. I got a bit carried away with my stencil and totally forgot to leave parts of the card white like they did above. Bummer!

Card Details: I first stamped the leaves. Then came back with my die-cut stencil and Oxide Inks and added the color. Then I used a stencil for the background. I wanted to add some depth so decided to use multiple layers of stitched circles from SU to achieve that goal. Some bronze sequins and a greeting from Avery Elle to finish it off.

Here is the first card I made, which is why I totally forgot to leave parts of the other background white in the above card, because I hadn’t here.

For this card I made a stencil using the deckled edge die that you see in the picture and the greeting is from SU. I was going for a one layer card until I left no room for the greeting. P to the 7th power. LOL

Thanks for checking in on me, I love your visits! Take care, Nanc’

Hello Friend

Hi, I am back today with two fall cards that I really enjoyed creating. If you have not discovered the joy of taking your die-cuts and making your own stencils, you should certainly give it a try. I shot a very amateur video showing what I did, but sadly my blog doesn’t support videos unless I upgrade. What I love best about the leaf stamp and die-cut stencil is that the stencil is bigger than the stamp and I really like the look of it. What do you think?

Here is a close up! And you can also see my inlay die-cut too.

The above card is for the Double D Challenge where the word is Leaves plus they have a mood board to inspire us.

The card below is the first card I made with this technique and it’s for the Addicted to CAS-Leaf challenge.

Card Details: Stamp and leaf die is from Stampin Up and since retired. The hello is from The Crafters Workshop. The Friend and I am so Thankful for…are from SU as well. I used oxide inks as my medium. I just love my new Postal Dies from Hero Arts! I did have to make a half mask of my leaf for the CAS card.

Now I am looking at all my dies in a brand new light! I am off to see what else I can make with a die-cut stencil! Have a very creative day! Nanc’

Pink and Brown

Hello, Today starts our new challenge over at Color Hues and the colors we have for you are Pink and Brown. These just so happen to be one of my all-time favorite color combinations.  I love how quick this card came together.  I used a couple of Stampin Up die-cut sets for this card.  They are Sunflower and Seasonal Layers.

As you may imagine the Color Hues Design Team and our guest Susie Moore did another amazing job with the colors.  Come check them out and play along.

Have a really wonderful day, Nanc’

Fall Colors…

Hello, Today I had the opportunity to play along with the fabulous color combo going on at The Paper Players.  I have mixed two of my favorite Stampin Up sets to make this card. The relatively new Sunflower set is really fabulous and the older die set called Seasonal Layers I just adore.  I absolutely love these leaves!  You should have seen me frantically looking for them one day about 2 months ago when I thought I lost them.  I tore my room apart.  Then I stopped, thought logically, and started looking in other sets, and there they were!  I was so relieved! The sentiment is from Verve. I used Copics and Colored Pencil as my medium.

Yesterday I spent the entire day reorganizing my studio and I love the way it looks now!  I need to update the photos so you can see it.  I really want to paint the cabinets white someday but that will have to wait till I have more time to convince hubby that it’s necessary.  I also would like to take out the sink. When we bought this house 28 years ago it had two kitchens.  Now it’s covered with a piece of board to hold my Big Shot but you can still see the faucet. It came in handy when I ran my own daycare and I did arts and crafts with the kids.

I hope this day finds you well!  Take care, Nanc’

With Gratitude…

Hello, It may not feel like fall in my neck of the woods quite yet…or ever…LOL, but it didn’t stop me from getting out my fall decorations today along with my favorite fall leaves from SU to make a card. Before I got to work, I needed to go find some challenge blogs to play along with.  I sometimes feel like a challenge blog addict. LOL If I was retired I think I would start another one myself!  The two I am joining today are The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge, where I have chosen the row going down (FALL, ORANGE, and LEAVES) and Happy Little Stampers (ANYTHING GOES WITH DIES.) Hold onto your hats folks…..I am about to say something a bit rare!! I am extremely happy with the way this card came out.  In fact, so happy that I made two of them, and one I will be sharing later next month with a JUGS challenge.

Card details: SU-cardstock, sentiment, and leaves. I did the watercolor smooshing technique for the leaves. Then did the outline in gold to match the embossed sentiment. I distressed my kraft cardstock with some oxide ink. MFT-banner die and Mod Rectangles. Gold Nuvo drops to finish it off!

So happy you stopped by, Have a creative week! Nanc’

Leaves

dsc_0239

screen-shot-2016-08-31-at-9-16-24-pmHello Friends,  Sharyn is our hostess this week over at Just Us Girls and she has picked out a perfect word for this time of year.  The word is LEAVES.  Sharyn and I have become very good friends over the past few years, and unfortunately life has gotten to busy for her, and this is going to be her last challenge as part of our Design Team.  I private messaged her a few days ago and asked if she realized her word she had chosen actually had two meanings this week?  She responded, that she had not realized that.  Funny how things work out sometimes isn’t it?  I must say the best thing about this great hobby of ours is the people that have come into our lives…and will stay forever.  I will miss working along side you my friend, but rest assure, you can’t escape me that easy… as I will continue to keep tabs on you! HUGS and best of luck to you!

Now onto my card.  I love the look of stamping two different colors on one stamp…especially these leaves.  I think these colors are awesome together, don’t you?  Then I took a light yellow Spectrum Noir pen and outlined each leaf. (seen below)  The idea for my card came from this gorgeous card by Ashwini that I have linked for you HERE! I added some black splatters and that great (fantastic) Verve Die, stamped the YOU that so happens to be Verve as well, and I was done.  It actually came together rather quickly.  I can assure you I will try this technique again.img_2138  I would also like to welcome our next Guest Designer Jaydee who will be with us this month!

ModSquadLogoI am linking my card up over at Mod Squad too…where they have a challenge of falling leaves! Love when things come together like that!

Hope to see you at JUGS! Nanc’

Bring on Fall!

dsc_0214

screen-shot-2016-08-12-at-6-25-13-pmHello Friends,  Don’t know about you, but I am ready for some cooler temps!  The heat is intense and I don’t ever remember it bothering me as much as it is has this year.  So I am hoping today’s Inspiration Photo over at Just Us Girls will help persuade fall to show it’s face in Florida.  Wishful thinking I know, but a girl has gotta try.  This card was put together with a little bit of stamps from here and there.  The pumpkin is something I picked up at Michaels, the little leaves and sentiment are from MFT (a PI set called Thankful Friend), and the large leaves are from Altenew’s Beautiful Day set.  Of course I had to use my favorite MFT stitched rectangles too!

I would also like to say thank you to Kathy Schweinfurth for being such an awesome Guest Designer with us this month!  You are truly very talented Kathy and hope to see more of your work in our gallery soon.

ModSquadLogoI am also linking my card up to the Mod Squad challenge where they have asked us to use splats (big or little) on our project.  I love doing the splatter technique…it adds so much to a card with so little effort!

Hope you will consider joining us at JUGS this week.  Take care,  Nanc’

Hello Friends and Happy Fall,  Today over at Just Us Girls Sue V. has a great Fall photo challenge for us!  I know part of the U.S. is experiencing a change in temps, while us here in Florida will just have to pretend it is indeed fall for a little longer.  Even though our temps are still warm, I had no problems diving into this photo and coming up with a card.  I also want to give a special thanks to our Guest Designer this month Bobby!  She was such a pleasure to work with and her cards were wonderful…make sure you check out her blog!

I am also linking this card up over at The Card Concept where they have a color challenge going on with wonderful fall colors.  This card is definitely Clean and Layered…it seems to be my thing lately!

The card came to life with this great CAS sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I just adore sketch challenges…don’t you?  I am so glad I got to join them this week!

FMS Final 155-001

Here are a few card details:  Sentiment and scalloped stamp is from Verve. Leave stamps are from Cloud Nine.  All ink and paper is from Stampin Up.  I also used Stampin Up’s tag punch for the outside tag.  I used SU dots, some twine, and a burlap flower as my accent pieces.

I so appreciate you stopping in today and Remember…..If your chosen as our Chic of the Week over at Just Us Girls you will become eligible to possibly be one of our Guest Designers in the month of November!   Good luck and hope to see you there!  Nanc’

DSC_0049

Hello Everyone,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word that has been selected is perfect for this time of the year…  LEAVES!  Fall is hopefully right around the corner, as this heat in Florida is getting a tad ridiculous!  I can’t remember an August and the start of September being this warm in recent years.   Okay onto the real reason you are here!  It just so happens that the  Curtain Call also has a gorgeous inspiration shot of leaves for their challenge this time around, so I will also be linking my card over there this week as well.  Love when things Fall together that way…..LOL!  🙂

lovely leaves

Here are a few details on my card: Sentiment and bird is from Verve from the With Love set. Leaves are from Cloud Nine…I have had them for years and LOVE them! The ink is all Stampin UP and that gorgeous ribbon is also Verve.  I have scoring down three of the sides of my panel and not sure it’s real noticeable in the photo.  I speckled my background a little before and after I stamped the leaves…such a fun technique and paper pieced the little bird. The banner is a nestabilitie.  That about does it.  Hope you come on over to Just Us Girls and see what the Design Team has been up to and welcome our new Guest Designer Bobby Hagen!  WELCOME BOBBY I am thrilled you are with us this week! Remember if your selected as our Chic of the Week you are in the running for a possible spot as a Guest Designer too.  See you over at JUGS!
