Sketchy Christmas

Hello, I am back today as I promised with one more Christmas card that is for the fun sketch going on over at the Global Design Project. This card is using one of my favorite color combinations, pale pink, kraft and white. Thanks to this sketch for motivating me I have 17 Christmas cards done! YAY!! I made another 5 or 6 with this sketch and the other designs will be posted at another time.

Card Details: It started with a SU Die set called Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. I used part of the set for the fun base of my wreath. Next, I used my Impression Obsession small Poinsettia dies (that I love) and cut out two poinsettias. I decided to add some more foliage using white, kraft, and taupe and those are from SU-the Forever Fern set…One of my FAVS! The greeting is from another sentiment SU set that is a decade old. A little sparkle and I was done. Such a quick and fun card to put together.

Here is a close up look.

Thanks for the visit, Take care!

Christmas in May

It’s Christmas in May here in my studio! Is it too early? I am good with it, as that means I am getting a jump on start on some Holiday cards. You know every year it sneaks up on us rather quickly. I loved how this card turned out. It all started with the Colors of the Color Throwdown in mind. I actually ended up making 6 more in various colors when I was done with this one. My morning plans got changed, as I was suppose to be with my dad as he was scheduled to have some tests done and it was canceled, so I decided to make the most of it and spend the day creating. It was a nice relaxing time, creating for me and nobody else.

Card Details: My card Base is Ivory! I finally cracked open this SU Die set called Swirly Scribbles Thinlits that I have had for probably a few years. Not even kidding! I used part of the set for the fun base of my wreath. Next, I used my Impression Obsession small Poinsettia dies (that I love) and cut out two poinsettias. I decided to add some more foliage using kraft and blue and those are from SU-the Forever Fern die set…MY FAV! The greeting is from another SU set called Cherish the Season. A little sparkle and I was done. Such a quick and fun card to put together.

I am also going to play along once again over at Addicted to Stamps and More, as the Any Occasion Challenge is still going on.

Thanks for stopping by! I just might be back tomorrow to share another Christmas card.

Card Concept-Thanks

Hello, I have been thinking about this gorgeous photo I saw over at the Card Concept- Loads of Lavender for the past week and I snuck away some time today to make a card. I have this fun SU set called Country Home that comes with a milk jug type stamp that I knew would work perfectly for this challenge. The set also comes with a pitcher but I like the can so much better.

Card Details: To start off, I decided I would make my own background paper and incorporate some of the black check from the ribbon. I used the SU Buffalo Check to get started. When I was done I decided it was a little overpowering and my black lines were too heavy, so I covered half of it using a fun edge border from MFT and the same lilac paper that I started with. Next, I stamped and colored my milk jug using Prisma colored pencil and fussy cut it out. I decided to not use the flowers that come in the set, but to get out the SU set Forever Fern along with it’s dies and use that as my foliage for the can. I finished it off with some faint clear Nuvo drops on the white panel. If I was to classify my card for this challenge I would say…CLEAN AND LAYERED.

I tried using green in my design but It just wasn’t working for me, and that is why I ended up with two shades of kraft.

I am going to link my card up over at Happy Little Stampers as well for Anything Goes with Dies.

As always, I appreciate you coming by.

Take care and happy stamping, Nanc’

Thank You…

Hello, Today over at Just Us Girls sweet Bobby has asked us to use an embossing folder on our card and or project. Such a great and easy trend that never goes out of style! All the supplies for my card are from Stampin Up. The beautiful foliage is from Forever Fern both the stamp set and dies. The sentiment is from the set called Bloom and Grow. A little bit of vellum, a heart die, and pearls, and I was done. A very quick card.

I hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS! Take care, Nanc’

Yellow and Blue

Hello, How did it get to be March 1st already? Wow, even with life being status quo and sometimes feeling a bit humdrum due to Covid, the days still seem to be flying by. Cindy is our hostess this time at Color Hues and she has two great hues of colors for us. As you can see the colors she has chosen are Yellow and Blue.

Card Details: I started off using an old Stampin Up stripes stencil to make my background. Then I stamped my leaves in blue, and die cut both of them and the white ones which are also from SU-Forever Fern. Then I found a much-neglected die cut from SU called Rose Garden and sponged a piece of cardstock before cutting it out leaving the white outline and putting it back together. Most of the color on the card was done with Oxide Inks. The greeting is from Verve! I adore the clear dew drops which I added from Honey Bee Stamps to finish it off.

I sure hope to see you in the gallery over at Color Hues. The Design Team rocked it as they usually do! Stay safe and healthy! Nanc’

Thanks-Photo Week

Hello, It’s Photo Week at Just Us Girls hosted by the lovely Sue. I hope she won’t mind but I went in an entirely different direction for my card than the rest of my teammates did this week. I took inspiration from the colors and not from the photo itself. I love the colors and am pretty happy with how quickly my card came together. Before I get to the card details, It is time to say farewell to our Guest Leslie. We have really enjoyed having you tagging along with us and I have enjoyed your cards and sweet comments too. Take care and hope to see you back in the gallery again soon.

Card Details: Stamps’ SU- Forever Fern, DSP- SU, Heart die-MFT and greeting is SU too.

Hope you will run on over to JUGS and check out my teammate’s cards! They did a great job with this photo and you are sure to be inspired!

Take care, Nanc’

Transparency or Vellum

Hello, I hope you are doing well and staying healthy. Today over at Seize the Birthday we have a new topping starting that was selected by the talented Ashwini. The topping is to use Vellum or Transparency on your card and or project. I just love the look of vellum on a card it is easy to do with such a great look.

My card was very quick to through together. I am using what is certainly becoming one of my favorite stamp and die sets from Stampin Up called… Forever Fern. I used a very old wooden stamp that is also SU to make my grey splatters. The sentiment is also from SU and the scalloped dies are MFT.

Before I go I would like to say farewell to Julie Peddicord. She has been a fabulous Surprise Party Guest with us for the past two months and we are certainly going to miss her. Thanks for all your inspiration Julie.

I hope you will consider coming by STB and joining us! Remember our topping is always optional any birthday card will do.

Take care, Nanc’

Something New!

Hello, Today is my first challenge as a Guest Designer for 2021 over at The Paper Players. Insert happy dance! If you happened to miss my announcement I have linked it up for you Here! I am over the top excited to be a part of this talented team. For our first challenge of the New Year, LeAnne has asked us to use something new on our card. Well, I don’t know about you but I may have a few new things lying around the craft room that I have yet to use or I just recently purchased. The stamp and dies I chose to use for today’s card are from Stampin Up and have never been used. To my defense, I have only had them two months so not too bad. I have wanted this set from the moment it came out! It stamps beautifully and is called Forever Fern. The designer paper is also from Stampin Up and the greeting is too. This is a fast card with a great reward!

Now, please dust off some stamps that you have yet to use, or maybe break the seal on something you got for Christmas and come and join us at The Paper Players! The team and the two other guests…Debbie and Amanda have some serious eye candy for inspiration to get you started!
