You make me Smile

Hello, I am back today with a CAS card for the latest challenge over at The Paper Players. If you have been a follower of my blog for some time you know that these leaves from Stampin Up are a favorite of mine and a staple this time of year. They are old, so sadly no longer available.

Card Details: First, I made a stencil of the leaf itself and inked it up with three fall colors of Oxide Inks. Then I took the die and cut them out. Next, I used the detailed die and cut it out using gold glitter paper. I think the mix of inks and glitter looks amazing together. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and is from Stampin Up (retired) as well. I think the final gold dots tied it all together.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get to do something today that brings you JOY! Nanc’

You’re the Best!

Hello, I am your hostess this week for Word Week over at Just Us Girls. I have chosen the word-Mammals. Easy huh? I think so!

I am also joining the ladies over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the diagonal row of; Friendship, Free Sentiment. I noticed it also fits the column of; Friendship, Any Color and Any Shape Die.

Card Details: Stamps and Dies are from Newton’s Nook. The sentiment is from SU. I made a circle out of acetate and then used ripped copy paper for my waves of hearts in various tones of Oxide Inks. The heart stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. I used Copics for coloring.

Before I go, I would like to welcome our newest guest Fran, to the party!  Welcome Fran, we are so happy to have you guesting alongside us for the month of July!

Take care and I hope you find some time this weekend to get creative and perhaps join us at Just Us Girls! Nanc’

Sweet Friend

Hello, As I stated earlier this week, I seem to be gravitating to florals this week, for a multitude of reasons. 1-, the stencils from Pink Fresh Studios are so much fun to use, 2- the cards generally come together rather quickly with good results, and 3- flowers make me happy and we all need a bit more happy these days, more than ever!

I was perusing my usual challenge sites and first came across the Pink Fresh Studios March challenge where they want us to Frame it up. I also tried to incorporate most of the tones of the colors from their graphic on my card as well. The centers of my flowers are peachy-yellow.

Then I came across two other challenges that piqued my interest. One is the Sketch over at Sunday Stamps and the second is the word prompt at Inkspirational-Curve. I have many curves on my card- the stencil has a curved design, the 2 flowers that I cut apart are now both arched in a curve, and the stitched circle is curved as well.

Card Details: Pink Fresh Studio-Daisy Wreath die and stencil, stitched circle from SU, an unknown background stencil, and some Oxide inks. The scalloped rectangle is MFT and the greeting is Gina K. I added some dimensionals, glitter, and sequins to finish it off.

Sweet Friend

Hello, I hope this post finds you well. Things have been less than ideal over the past couple of weeks in my neck of the woods and stress has hit an ultimate high. So if I seem a little out of sorts that is why! I do not have the time or energy to tell you what my last ten days have looked like, nor would I do that to you, all I am going to ask is if you would please keep my father and my hubby in your prayers. On a happier note, my son and daughter in law are coming to Florida for a few days, rather unexpectedly, so that might be just what this girl needs as a pick me up and to get me back on track.

Onto today’s card! Over at The Paper Players we have a Tic Tac Toe Board created by LeAnne for you all to enjoy. I have selected the center row of circle, red and DSP, but my card would also work with the diagonal row of blue, red, and white. Which row speaks to you?

When creating my card I decided to combine it with the Festive Friday Challenge. The three items I selected were; stripes, rectangle, and bright colors.

Card Details: I have a mix of The Greetery, Gina K Designs, and SU, and a MS punch for my card. If you have any questions just ask.

Life Is Better-JUGS

Hello, I am here today with a very pretty Photo Inspired card for the latest Just Us Girls challenge. Bobby sure knows how to pick’em. There is so much to this photo that you can pull from and be inspired by.

Here is a closeup view of my card.

Card Details: This card came together better than I had it planned out in my head. I have this great pack of DSP from SU that I knew I wanted to incorporate in my design. First, I cut out two tags using a MFT die. Next, I got out my relatively new to me garden themed die set from Sizzix called Garden Shed, to pull in some of the elements from the photo The sentiment and dew drops are from Honey Bee Stamps. The silver twine finished it off nicely and I went to Hobby Lobby the other evening to pick some up just for this card. I may have gotten one or two other things while I was there. LOL

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies, as my card is nearly all die-cuts.

I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out my fabulous teammates cards…and play along. Before I go I need to say thanks to Claire for being such a wonderful guest! We really have enjoyed having you with us this month. Thanks for joining us.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

You are simply…

Hello, Hope you are doing well! The fabulous Lisa has picked out the prettiest color combo for us this week at Just Us Girls. I just loved it the moment I saw it.

Card Details: I have mentioned before that I have this great DSP from SU that I only use sparingly as I love it so much, but I thought this color combo warranted getting out a small piece of it. The paper itself has a pattern to it already and all you have to do it apply your ink and you end up with an emboss resist with little work. I have no idea why they don’t carry this stuff on a regular bases… or any company for that matter. Everything I have used on this card is from SU.

I am also linking my card up over at Happy Little Stampers Anything goes with Dies challenge.

I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and play along with us! There are some fabulous cards by the DY and our guest to check out.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Life is Better…

Hello again, I am back today with a fun card that just screams Summer! I Love this stamp and die set from Honey Bee Stamps called- Flippin Fabulous and I was itching to play with them again.

I am linking up my card over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Card Details: I first blended my background with Oxide Inks, then I colored all my images before die-cutting them. Right before I started assembling my card I didn’t like that the flip flops were stark white, so I came back with a heart stamp to give them some fun flare. I used Crystal Effects on the straps of the flip flops to make them shine and more realistic. I remember the flip flops when I was a kid, were those super flat kind with glossy straps in an array of different colors. Who’s with me?

Thanks for checking in on me, I sure do appreciate your visits. Have a great rest of your day! Stay well! Nanc’

Hey, Gullfriend!

Hello, Hope your day is off to a good start. It’s Sketch Week at The Paper Players and Ann is our hostess. She has a fun and easy sketch to inspire us. You know I love this seagull stamp set from MFT so I hope you don’t mind seeing him once again. As you may or may not know, I am enthralled with making backgrounds these days and I have another warm weather scene for you. It is perfect beach weather and 80 here, and I think our winter is officially over. Boohoo! I just hope we don’t jump straight to the 90s any time soon.

Card Details: I used two patterned stencils and Oxide inks to make my background. The sun-ray and the wave stencil are from MFT. Along with a Circle stencil made from a piece of acetate to start things off. As I was writing this post and looking at my picture, I realized I never finished coloring my seagull. OOPS! Oh, well!

Come check out what the rest of the talented team did this week,

and I hope you will be inspired to join us!
