Sending Love

Hello, We have the prettiest Color Pairing starting today at Color Hues. Tracey is our wonderful hostess and I am smitten with her color combo. The Design Team and our guest have some truly amazing cards over on the blog, you must check them out.

We are still in the middle of a new release over at Spellbinders, so when I saw this challenge coming up at Color Hues I knew this new die cut was going to work out wonderfully. The Collection is called Four Petal and this specific die that I have used above is called the Four Petal Bloom Reflection. It is so very pretty and easy to put together. I have used the same Thanks Enclosed Sentiments as well. I have all the links below if you want to check them out.

I Heard you were…

Hello, It is the middle of the month and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! Sheri has chosen a color combo that I really, really love…Aqua and Black. I just adore these dragons from MFT, don’t you? A dear friend of mine’s hubby was having some heart issues and I made this especially for him. Over at Color Hues we have the fabulous Trina Pham joining us as our guest!

Here is a close up of my cute dragon.

Card Details: Dragon, sentiment, and both types of clouds are MFT. The stars are dies also and from Your Next Stamp. I used both Copics and Prismas as my medium.

There is no shortage of inspiration over at Color Hues by the Design Team and Trina, come be inspired! Nanc’

Superstar Challenge- I Heard You Were Dragon

Hello, I thought I would give the Superstar Challenge – category CAS Genius a go over at MFT.  The competition is always so amazing that I usually feel intimidated, but I thought what the heck, why not give it another try!  I first took a white sheet of cardstock and a piece of acetate, and some black ink and made some black stripes on my cardstock.  I had intended on taking a Copic Marker and coloring in the white stripes with BG13 however, I did one spot at the top of the stencil and didn’t like it so I left it alone.  I did end up using a piece of it in the design though. Trying to do something different, so I thought why not black and white striped clouds? Why not! I took my black and white paper and my MFT Stitched Cloud die cuts and made my 3 layers of clouds.  I then colored my cute little Dragon using both Copic markers and Prisma Colored Pencils too.  I  doubled him up for stability and perched him on a Stitched tag from MFT. The sentiment is from the same stamp set-Magical Dragons.  Some black twine and enamel dots and I was finished.

If you haven’t joined in over at MFT you still have time!  Be Brave like me!   The prizes are incredible!

Here are a couple of pictures that I took so you can see the process.

I take two pieces of acetate and taped them down using the guide from my Tim Holtz glass media mat to make my stripes.  I love that device! Not sure how I lived without it!

You can see the piece I had leftover that I decided to use on my tag.

Navy and Pink

Hello, I was trying to make a few cards for some upcoming challenges and it wasn’t going well yesterday, so I decided to write a post instead.  I did some water coloring a few days ago and the next day after some thought and suggestions over on IG, I turned the items into two cards instead of one.  You see, I had made two background panels and I liked them both and was trying to figure out which one to use.

I am linking the above card up over at The Flower Challenge where they have asked us to use Navy and one other color on our project. I as you have seen I chose pink.

Card Details:  Stamps are mostly Altnew with the exception of the “Wishing You Well” greeting is from Stampin Up. I used Catherine Pooler inks and some stencils to make my backgrounds.  Speaking of backgrounds…  I did a double stencil technique and it worked perfectly.  I made both a rectangle and circle stencil with some thick acetate and placed that down over my first decorative stencil. I used some washi tape to hold everything in place.  It was so much fun, I made about ten more backgrounds while I was at it in various colors and shapes.

I so appreciate you stopping in and I hope you have a lovely day, Nanc’.

I hope my mojo returns soon.

Get Well!

It’s word week at Just Us Girls and I have a very simple card for you this week.  I thought it was time to try and make a card with my bits and box leftovers and this is what I came up with.  How many bits boxes do you have?  And are they categorized in any way?  I have quite a few! I do have mine somewhat organized, and I one rather large bowl that sits on my desk, and when it gets to be overflowing that is when I stop and put each piece where they belong.

Enough about that! Here are a few card details: MFT stitched Flowers and rectangles and a Verve sentiment.  The circle die is SU and the scalloped circle is Spellbinders.

I hope you will swing by Just Us Girls and join us and while you are there help us in welcoming our new guest for the month…Vicky Hayes!

Take care, Nanc’

Just for you…

Hello, and happy weekend! It’s time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  I must say when I started thinking about this card my mind went one way and the card completely ended entirely a different way by the time I was done. Sometimes that happens and it’s part of the process…right?

For my card, I have a mix of companies…Gina K-Stencil, Pretty Pink Posh-Butterflies, Altenew-sentiment, Paper Trey-Edge die, Oxide Inks.

Thanks to both of our Guests…Hannelie and Mary for being with us this month!

Before I go I have to share a picture of Lisa Kind (another JUG Head) and I together.  She was on vacation in Florida recently and we met one morning for coffee and breakfast. I absolutely love meeting fellow DT members and she is as sweet and as “Kind” as I thought she would be.  Lisa, I am so very glad we could make it happen!

Please ignore my stance as I was trying not to look like a giant as I tend to do. LOL

Head on over to Just Us Girls and check out the team and our guest cards, you won’t be disappointed!  Nanc’

Get Well

Hello,  Today’s card is for Two Challenges- The Color Throwdown and CAS Watercolour. I just had to get out one of my all-time favorite SU sets as soon as I saw the theme at CAS Watercolour was Maple Leaf. I started off by doing the smooshing technique with two different colors of Purple on Watercolour paper. Next, I cut out the leaves…both solid and the outline ones.  Last, I had to incorporate the grey and decided a little sparkle paper would do the trick just fine. The Get Well sentiment is SU. A few rhinestones and I was done.

Have a wonderful day, Nanc’

Sprays @ CAS Stencil

Hello,  The card I have for you today is for the CAS Stencil Challenge. What they wanted us to do is use Sprays on our project. I got out my Dylusions-Funky Fuchsia spray and my SU line stencil and got messy.  So I don’t make a huge mess, I do mine inside a large piece of construction paper and an opened MFT box as a backdrop….which helps contain it and to keep it from getting everywhere on my work surface.

Here are my card details:  Copics and a bit of colored pencil, Gina K-vases, Stupendous-floral stamp and sentiment, SU-oval die, and MFT rectangles both scalloped and stitched.

Below is a picture of my spray and the piece before I colored it with my Copics. I am in love with BG10. I had to fussy cut my florals.

I pray it’s not too many layers for CAS…fingers crossed!!!

Thanks for stopping in….always appreciated.  Nanc’ .

Feel Better Soon

Hello,  I have a quick post for you today for the new Color Challenge starting over at The Paper Players. Not sure what possessed me to photograph it on such a busy piece of paper. LOL  I just love this resist paper from SU that I used for the background.  I use it very sparingly, as I like it so much and don’t want to run out any time soon. I don’t know why they don’t stock it continuously. It’s so beautiful and quick and works so well with Oxide Inks. My green is a bit softer than the challenge color, so hopefully that is alright.

Card Details: Paper -SU, sentiment-Verve, flowers, leafy swirl, and scalloped rectangles are-MFT.

Have a wonderful day, Nanc’

Perfect Pearls..

Do you ever buy a crafting supply because you saw it on a YouTube Video (probably Jennifer McGuire) and you had to run out and buy it right away?  Then years later, you see a challenge asking you to use it and the light bulb comes on in your head and you’re like…hey, I have that stuff! Well, that’s exactly what happened this week for me! I am sure it’s happened to you too!! At least humor me and agree that it has. 😉  The funny thing is… if I just “HAD TO HAVE IT” way back then, why on earth is the packaging still intact? LOL

Okay, enough of my silly rant! Today’s card was so much fun to make using my “New” Perfect Pearls and joining in the fun over at CAS Stencil Challenge.  The Perfect Pearls is a tad messy and I highly recommend that you use a fixative spray when you’re done, so it doesn’t continuously wipe off on your hands. I liked it a lot before I sprayed it and loved it even more after I took it outside and gave it a good douse. It seemed to enrich the color.

Then I had to figure out what to do next!  I decided that I would turn the pretty paper into both birthday candles and (flowers for a later post) as to not waste a scrap. The pretty scalloped foil paper is SU made with an MFT die. The sentiment is Hero Arts, and the candles are a die-cut by Elizabeth Craft Designs. The little tiny pearls I placed in each corner are SU and match perfectly!

Here are a couple other pics!

Have a wonderful day! Nanc’
