Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Hi, I am back again today for a second post as I wanted to take part in Amy’s Spring/ Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop that started today! The amount of work that she puts into these events is unbelievable! You must check out all the amazing sponsors and prizes she has too. Way to go Amy Tsuruta!

I chose to use one of my favorite sets from the Greetery for this card. The greeting is from Gina K Designs. I used a few other things from my bits and boxes for some accents. I just love the spoon done in mirrored paper.

I hope to be back with another card or two before the deadline!

In other news…Hubby got his first COVID shot today! Woohooo!!! We were back home in about an hour. What a well run site!!! We arrived at 11 and he had his shot by 11:08. The drive was 25 minutes. Take care, Nanc’

Hello…just a little something

Hello, I hope this post finds you well! Today over at The Paper Players it’s time for Sketch Week. I love sketches…do you? I feel they make the design come together so much faster as the template is made for you. Joanne has a fun one for us today! Please don’t look too closely at my card as I did a terrible job inking the sky and grass. I didn’t have the stamp set to make a mask with, so I was inking around the image as carefully as I could. I had borrowed this stamp from a friend and only stamped a few, and I didn’t want to waste one of these cute little bears on a mask that was going to get all inky.

Card Details: Bear is from Ellen Hutson, Flowers- Colossal Con-flowers in the background are from Gina K. (also given to me from a friend). The greeting is a mix of Gina K. (a little something) and (Hello) is Papertrey Ink. The sky -MFT stencil, the grass is also an old MFT die that I used to make a stencil. The tag, flowers, and rectangle dies are all MFT. The butterfly is a MS punch.

Come see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team did with this challenge, you truly will be inspired!

CAS Snow

Hello, I hope you are doing well! It’s time for our CAS challenge over at The Paper Players and the theme is Snow. I so enjoyed this challenge being a Florida girl and all. Plus it gives me a jumps start on Christmas cards.

Card Details: I made my snowbanks with Oxide Inks and a template made from a Lawn Fawn- hills die. I use acetate so I can reuse them again. The cute little Ele is from MFT, the snowflakes are from Gina K Designs, the sentiment is Gina K too. The Santa hat die is from Lawn Fawn. I used a mix of three colors to achieve the color I was looking for. Broken China, Iced spruce, and Tumbled Glass.

I am also going to link my card up over at Addicted to CAS where the code word is Snow!

For more fabulous inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the Paper Players Design Team!

Sparkle and Shine

Hello, We have a fun and easy topping starting today over at Seize the Birthday! I have a quick and easy card for you using some foil mates (stars) and foil (Passionate Pink) from Gina K. Designs. This card is a lot more sparkly in real life than it shows.  Those fun candles that are also foiled and are from Elizabeth Kraft Designs and the sentiment is my go-to from Verve. I have a lot of dimension under the front panel and greeting.  The enamel dots are SU.

Come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the lovely sparkle from my talented teammates and our guest Julie!

No Line Watercoloring

Hi, No Line Water-coloring or should I say…ATTEMPTING No Line Watercoloring over at Just Us Girls today. If I had more time I would have been happy to try again but since I didn’t, I decided to do my best to hide my terrible flower with a bow! LOL. I guess I shouldn’t have picked a sheer one. LOLOLOL My dear friend Barb sent me this Gina K Designs image with a sticky note that said try no-line water-coloring with this.  I am sure she will not be impressed as she is fabulous at it. LOL  Oh well, I will try again sometime soon.

The MFT hello die was dipped in gold glitter to add some interest or distraction.LOL  And the tag die is also MFT.

Hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS! A huge thanks to Sue our DT member that pushed us to try something new and or challenging! Come play along.

Watercoloring

Hello, I have a watercolored card for you today that goes with our next topping that I so happen have selected over at Seize the Birthday.  I used this beautiful hydrangea stamp from Gina K Designs.  The sentiment is one of my go-to stamps from Stampin Up.  As you can see I heat embossed with white powder before I got started painting.  Some splatters, sequins, and ribbon and I was done.

I need to thank our Surprise Party Guest Jo for being with us for the past 2 months.  It’s been such a joy having you with us and I look forward to having your wonderful cards in our gallery again soon.

Please come join check out the DT’s cards at Seize the Birthday and I hope you will join us, Nanc’

Circles-Twofer

LONG post ahead!!!

Hello,  Let me ask this question before I begin.  Do you ever have a crafting day that just doesn’t play nicely?  This was that day!  It’s all Darnel’s fault! (LOL) You see, I LOVE to play along with the Twofer Challenge as I like that it pushes me to think outside the box, and had I not wanted to play, I wouldn’t have sworn extremely loud yesterday and I may not have slammed my fist down on my craft table.  (I think I have some pent up anger from all that is wrong in the world with no end in sight.) I am going to use that as my excuse anyways.   What is that shirt I keep seeing on IG say- ” I’m Fine, It’s Fine, Everything is Fine. I think I need to make one of those for myself.  LOL  In all seriousness….love you Darnell and the Twofer Challenge.  Onto my little story.

I have a very old stamp (picture below) from Gina K Designs and I knew it was going to be just perfect for my circles that I chose to use for this challenge.

I started with this card…….YUCK!  Colors didn’t gel one bit. I decided to not give up and try again. A little better, but as you can see I didn’t line up my card piece correctly in my Misti.  Plus I messed up my pattern.  No big deal right, I just won’t use the entire sheet.  So I forged on!

I ended up with this card. Better, but I really don’t love it much at all.

Then, I was ready to start my Twofer.  I had an idea that was going to take some time. Everything was going swimmingly and all I had left to do was the sentiment.  Yep, you know where I am going, don’t you?

Here is where I may have said a naughty word or three. 😉 I have noticed in the past that Archival Black Ink sticks a bit to Oxide Panels and when you pull off the stamp the ink splatters, that or I pressed too hard, or both!  Once I gathered myself and went and whined to the hubster, I was determined to salvage some part of this card.  Here is what I did.  I guess it’s time to cover it up and make a square card.

Now the tree is growing right out of the Gulf of Mexico.  LOL

Thanks for sticking with me through this post.  I don’t want you to think I have a huge temper and I swear like a sailor.  That is really sooooo not the case. Just every once in a while things slip out.  LOL  However,  I think and hope you fellow crafters agree, I certainly had a justifiable cause.  😉

Here are both of the arch enemies together.

Supplies: I have a huge mix… Gina K, MFT, SU, Papertry Ink, Lawn Fawn, and Memory Box.

Taking the day off from stamping…I have earned it! LOL.

Here’s to better crafting days ahead, Nanc’

Frame It

Hello, We have a fun and so easy Trend for you this week at Just Us Girls.  Ina has asked us to put a frame somewhere on our card.  It is so easy to do and always steps the design up quite a bit.  The design team did a great job along with our guest Mugdha.  I hope you will consider stopping by and joining us.

I am linking my card up over at NBUS– with Darnell as it’s the first time I have used this Sweet Camellia Flower by Gina K.

If you have no time to color, you can always try your hand at Pointillism.  It’s fun and quick and adds a different look.

Card details:  Stamps-Gina K Designs, Copics, A mix of MFT, SU, and Spellbinders frames and circles. The fancy Victorian pieces at the bottom and middle of my card were made with my Fiskars.

I hope you find joy today however you wish to spend it, Nanc’

Happy Birthday-Altenew

Hello,  I wanted to make sure I had a chance to join the Paper Players challenge this week.  So last night I made a card using a stamp set from Altenew.  I still haven’t mastered this multi-step stamp set.  It’s not as easy as I thought it would be even with directions. LOL I will prevail someday!

I have stretched the sketch a bit now that I looked at it again, as my center panel is a bit too big. Oops!  I popped up a few of my flowers to cover the ones that looked terrible. The sentiment is from Gina K.

Today is the last day of school for me. This isn’t quite how I would have imagined the year would have ended, but this picture makes it a bit easier. It was taken with some of the kindergarten kids on the 100th day of school this year.  If you look closely the kids decorate their clothes with 100 of something to help celebrate.  The little boy in front of me has 100 plastic bugs on his shirt.  And in puff paint the mom wrote, I bugged my teacher 100 days this year. LOL  It is always such a fun day.  I sure hope next year starts and ends better than this one. I miss those faces so much!

I hope you have a creative day, Nanc’

Heart Rainbows

Hello, I have a CASE today of a fabulous card that I fell in love with from A Paper Melody.  If you haven’t seen Melody’s work you seriously must!  I have linked her website up for you.  When I started my card I softly sponged a pink sky background. Then I gathered hearts from various stamp companies and my Catherine Pooler inks and started randomly stamping my hearts.  Then I dropped my ink pad and may have said a naughty word.  That is when I decided to forge ahead and find a pretty background paper to mount my rainbow on. I think the dotted paper worked well.  It was a happy accident as I like the way the card turned out.  If you look closely at parts of the rainbow and at the clouds they have fun foam beneath them for added depth.  I should have taken another photo to show you the depth, but the card is currently sealed in my mailbox as I type and on its way to its recipient.  The sentiments are from Gina K and the fun clouds are MFT.  I will be making more of these fun cards for sure!

I am linking this card up over at Addicted to CAS where the word is Rainbow. I am also entering this card over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the word is smile.  I don’t know about you but everyone loves rainbows and they sure make me smile when I see them.  Plus my card is going to a dear friend that is away from her family right now, and going through a rough time.  I sure hope my card will make her smile.

I hope the next time it rains and you look closely at the sky, you may find a heart stamped rainbow too.  Nanc’
