Sending Hugs

Hello, I hope you are doing well, and happy Monday! Today I had a bit of time to play along with the Sunday Stamps Challenge. They have a gorgeous color palette to choose from as you will see below. My card photo is a bit blurry and I realized it a bit too late, as I already put the card in the mailbox today.

For this challenge, you must use a minimum of three colors from the graphic below and I have used four. Some might say that the center of my flowers should be pink but I like that I made them the same color as the leaves and stems. We call that artistic license, don’t we!

Card Details: Gina K- Delightful Blooms stencil and Oxide Inks, the sentiment is from Altenew, and the butterflies are from Birch Press Design.

Thanks for stopping by today and take care, Nanc’

Sending Love and Prayers

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for Photo/Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls. Vicki is our hostess and she has a large moodboard with many possibilities for us, and hopefully you, to help spark the creative process. When I first looked at her board I was drawn to the Vanity Fair Graphic in the top corner and the two flowers front and center. I couldn’t decide which way to go, and then finally realized I could combine both of those pics into my design.

I am also playing along over at one of my other favorite challenges- Inkspirational Challenge where they want us to use Stencils.

Card Details: Gina K- Delightful Blooms Stencil in Mustard Seed Oxide Ink and Peeled Paint, Sending is from MFT, the Love and Prayers is from Gina K in her Peaceful Roses stamp set. I sponged the word Sending in yellow Oxide Ink onto yellow cardstock to give it a gradient look and shadowed it in Olive Green. The postage die is from Hero Arts.

I hope you will come on over to Just Us Girls and check out the DT and our Guest- Karen’s cards and play along!

Take care, Nanc’

Love Your Kind Heart

Hello, Hope you’re having a great day! I had some time yesterday afternoon to find my mojo and I thought perhaps the best way to do that was to do some stenciling. Stenciling is quick, simple, and generally produces good results. I am happy to report it worked and by the time I was done, I had 4 cards complete. I have had this great stencil set called Delightful Blooms by Gina K for a few months and it was time to break the seal on the packaging.

Here is card number two using the same colors.

I will be linking up with my friend, Darnell over at NBUS as the stencils and Orchid inks are brand new to me!

Card Details: Both cards are using Gina K Delightful Bloom’s stencils. The Orchid inks are new to me as well and are so pretty. I used Oxide inks for the leaves and as you can see you don’t get a crisp black image when you stamp over Oxides. The love die and black sentiment are also from Gina K in her A Little Love Bundle. Card #2’s greeting is from Altenew’s Delicate Primrose set.

Thanks for stopping by, your visits and comments certainly make my days brighter! Today I am back to cleaning out my family home. It certainly isn’t easy which is why I am procrastinating, but it has to be done!

Take care, Nanc’

Love you with…

Hello, I am back today with a card for the latest Tic Tac Toe board over at The Paper Players. I have chosen the center row of; die-cut, blue and patterned paper. This challenge was just what I needed to get inspired.

Card Details: DSP is from Stampin UP, the embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and it came with my machine and I don’t know the name of it, the love die and sentiment are from Gina K Designs-A Little Love Set, the flower and leaves are from Pink and Main. I used my old Fiskars cutter to make the double decorative victorian edge between my papers.

My photo isn’t great and this looks much better in person.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Take care, Nanc’

Monthly Mix Challenge-Gina K

Hello, Today I am playing along with the Monthly Mix Challenge over at Gina K Designs where my lovely friend Barb is hostess. The challenge is to use an Image, Die-cut, and Sentiment on your project. Such an easy one!

Do you ever take a card just a tiny bit too far and wish you had listened to your gut when it told you to stop? Well, that is how I feel about this card. Everything was going well till I decided to make a mask of the hydrangea stamp and stamp the text in the background. Two things happened that I am not crazy about. First, I should have cut the white piece out of the middle of the flowers because now it looks weird because it has no text, and two, the color ink I chose for my words was just too dark. I wanted something a bit more subtle. But what’s done is done and you have to move on.

Card Details: Hydrangea-Gina K Designs, sentiment is also Gina K, the leaves EF is from ?, the word background is SSS. I used my Copics as my medium and a very small bit of Colored pencil on the leaves. I came back with a white gel pen for the center of the flowers. Sequins and string and I was done.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! This is not my favorite holiday, so hubby and I are taking our bikes to St. Pete for the day! Should be a great distraction from missing my son!

Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Sweet Friend

Hello, As I stated earlier this week, I seem to be gravitating to florals this week, for a multitude of reasons. 1-, the stencils from Pink Fresh Studios are so much fun to use, 2- the cards generally come together rather quickly with good results, and 3- flowers make me happy and we all need a bit more happy these days, more than ever!

I was perusing my usual challenge sites and first came across the Pink Fresh Studios March challenge where they want us to Frame it up. I also tried to incorporate most of the tones of the colors from their graphic on my card as well. The centers of my flowers are peachy-yellow.

Then I came across two other challenges that piqued my interest. One is the Sketch over at Sunday Stamps and the second is the word prompt at Inkspirational-Curve. I have many curves on my card- the stencil has a curved design, the 2 flowers that I cut apart are now both arched in a curve, and the stitched circle is curved as well.

Card Details: Pink Fresh Studio-Daisy Wreath die and stencil, stitched circle from SU, an unknown background stencil, and some Oxide inks. The scalloped rectangle is MFT and the greeting is Gina K. I added some dimensionals, glitter, and sequins to finish it off.

Thinking of You/Love Your Kind Heart

Hello, It is the middle of the month already, and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! Sweet Kristie has picked one of my favorite color combinations; Navy and Pink. Of course, I still had Gina K’s new stamp, stencil, and die on my desk and decided to use it once again. I actually have two cards for you today!

Here is the second one.

I am linking up one of the cards over at Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge too.

Card Details: I made my own large background panel that I knew I was going to try and use for two cards. The DSP is an old SU set that I adore. The first card, the sentiment is from Verve. Card two, the greeting is from Gina K.’s bundle. Lots of dimensionals on both. I used both Oxide inks and Catherine Pooler. The rectangle dies are all MFT.

Now, head on over to Color Hues and play along! We have the uber-talented Rosemary joining us as our guest! Welcome, Rosemary!

Happy creating, Nanc’

Red and Black

Hello, It is already February and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! Karen is our fabulous hostess and she has a perfect color duo for this time of year. If you are not into making Valentines there are many other avenues you can take with these colors, as you will see by the DT’s cards over on the CH blog. We also have Michal joining us as a guest over at CH for this challenge! Welcome, Michal. We are happy to have you!

I made two cards for this challenge and didn’t realize the black looked so bad on the second card until after I photographed it. 😦

First Card: I made my heart windows with an MFT heart die. The love die is from Gina K and the XOXO stamp and the You Melt My Heart stamp are from MFT. A very quick and simple Valentine.

Second Card: Honey Bee Stamps fluttering hearts stencil. The stamp set is also Honey Bee Stamps and is called; Stronger Together. I used my fabulous Hero Arts Postage dies and did some masking as well. Of course, my Oxide Inks was my ink of choice.

Hope to see you over at Color Hues where I know the DT’s work will inspire you! They always inspire me! Please take care and Happy crafting! Nanc’

Love You-Valentine

Hello, I am back yet again with another card, and this time it’s a Valentine for my sweet hubby! Hopefully, he won’t decide to visit my blog in the next couple of weeks. This time I am playing along with my sweet friends over at The Paper Players. I knew what stamp set I wanted to use and as soon as I saw Jaydee’s sketch an idea came to mind. Thanks, Jaydee!

Here is a close-up so you can see the glossy accents that I put on the red hearts.

Going to join in the Addicted to Stamps and More Make your Mark Challenge too.

Card Details: The gnome stamp is from Whimsy Stamps, the heart envelope is a stamp from Verve, the love die is from Gina K Designs. I used Prismas and Copics as my medium. I used Glossy accents for my hearts to give them some shine.

I hope you are enjoying your day and finding some time to be creative, Nanc’
