STB- Inlay Die-cutting

dsc_0071

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  I need to make this short and sweet as I am a tad behind on life these days! Over at Seize the Birthday our Topping this time is to do Inlay Die-cutting. I absolutely love this technique!  I hope you will come on over to STB and see what the team and our Surprise Party Guest has done! Before I go I need to thank Rahmat for being such a terrific guest these past few months!  It’s been a pleasure having you with us and we hope to see you back in our gallery again soon.

Take care,

Nanc’

Try a Little Felt

dsc_0011

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  We have a fun Topping option for the next two weeks over at Seize the Birthday!  Out topping is to add felt to your card and or project.  This was a first time I have ever cut felt with a die cut before and I am in love with how well it worked with my MFT dies and my Sizzix machine.  I have had this felt in my cabinet for years, (NBUS) and thrilled that I didn’t have to run out and get any.  Cause you know…you run to the craft store for one thing and you come out with TEN! LOL  Just look at those balloons …aren’t they super cute?  As I warned you, I can’t get over my crush on these NEW Adorable Elephants from MFT.  Swoon!  This little guy was again colored with my Prisma Colored Pencils.  The background heart cover plate and the grass is also MFT.  The sentiment is part of the elephant stamp set as well. The scalloped circle is Spellbinders and the Stitched circle is SU.

I hope you will consider coming on over to Seize the Birthday to see what my fantastic teammates and Guest have done with their felt, and while you are there you will have a go at it yourself!

button-aqua-use-this-theAlso, you have to run on over to Darnell’s Blog and see what this fantastic, crafty and sweet of a lady has done with Bubble Wrap! Amazing! Take care, Nanc’

Inspiration Photo @ JUGS!

dsc_0013

screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-7-44-36-pmHello Friends, I am hosting our next challenge at Just Us Girls and it just so happens to be photo week.  I have picked a beautiful pic to remind us that Spring will soon be here.  However, here in Florida it feels like Spring a great deal of the time as it has been a very mild winter so far.  Just the way I like it!  The team and our guest Shawna Standish have done a great job as always!  I sure hope you will consider joining us.  You might even be chosen as our next guest designer!

Here are a few details….The daisy die is from Elizabeth Craft Designs, the ladybug is a stamp that I have had for years and never once used, the stitched oval die is from SU and the sentiment is from MFT. The rest is this and that!  I am off to a friend’s house today for some card-making and girl-friend time!

Have a great day!  Nanc’

Dashes and or Doodling

dsc_0009

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’t been a fast week for me!  It’s already Thursday and time for our next Topping at Seize the Birthday!  What we have going on over there is to add Dashes and or Doodling to your card and or project.  I think our players are going to enjoy this topping…I know I sure did.  I took the same Altenew stamp set (Botanical Garden) that I still had sitting out in my studio and went to work.  I think the added dash lines around the flowers and leaves really made it look totally different!  I don’t think my coloring turned out as well this time as last time though.  I tend to struggle with blending the color red.  Now, you may ask …why I decided to use the color Kraft for my leaves.  I got mixed up and started this card for a different challenge and then remembered I was making it for STB….please tell me you have done this at least once?  I tend to do it often. LOL  So many challenges…so little time! I had some pencil marks I couldn’t get off of the white card stock so I decided to add the dots to hide some of them and carried it down to the sentiment too.  I think it turned out rather fun!  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Please come over to STB and see what my team and our Surprise Party guest Rahmat have done and while your there I hope you get inspired to join us!! Nanc’

Seize the Birthday and a trip to MFT!

Hello Friends,  I trust you had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready like me to get back to creating again!  Not that I didn’t make any cards over the Holidays, as I did, but now it’t time to gat back to my Challenge blogs and somewhat of a routine again.  We all do better with routines don’t you think?  I think you spend less money that way. Speaking of Spending Money!  Guess who finally made it to My Favorite Things Store yesterday!  Yes me!  I know you’re a bit jealous and you should be!  WOW!  All that wonderful MFT right at your fingertips! It was so much fun and a bit overwhelming.  It would have been easier to say…let me have one of each please! LOL My hubby was a trooper, he was taking pics with his phone of all the cards he liked, and then helped me narrow down my selections.  His choices made sense! The store is about 2 hours and 20 minutes from our home, but Hubby and I were already in Mount Dora for a few days of fun and R and R, and when I mentioned it was only 11 miles down the road, he said we were to close not to stop. I am a lucky gal!

It’s a beautiful store!

STB Anything GoesOkay, enough of me bragging….right? It’s time for our first challenge of 2017 over at Seize the Birthday and it just so happens to be time for NO Topping!  So that leaves it wide open for you to get those creative juices flowing again.  Just remember it has to be a Birthday card.  We are also welcoming a new Surprise Party Guest for the next tow months.  It happens to be Rahmat.  She has been such a constant supporter of STB and it was past time for me to invite her to be our Surprise Guest.  Welcome Rahmat…we are so glad to have you joining us!  Here is my card.

I was a bit rushed yesterday when we got home to get everything done and ready to return to work tomorrow so this photo doesn’t quite do this card justice.  It’s much sparklier and pretty in person.  It just so happens to be made with mostly MFT supplies, but not the ones I got yesterday. The stamp and die set is called Bold Blooms. I have been a Very, Very bad girl this month when it comes to spending! What can I say!  It’s all the discounts they have been offering! LOL The only 2 things that are not MFT is the stitched circle, that is from Stampin Up, and the sentiment I have had forever.

Sorry this post is so long, but I had a lot to say!  It’s been bottled up to long. LOL  Please, come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us!  My teammates and Guest have some awesome cards to kick off the NEW YEAR!  Happy creating! Nanc’

Love These Colors!

dsc_0329

screen-shot-2016-10-01-at-7-51-58-pmHello Friends, Happy Weekend and Happy Vacation to me!  Boy do I LOVE having a week off for Thanksgiving, plus Tyler and Sandra will be here on Tuesday.  Can you hear me smiling from ear to ear!  This is the longest hubby and I have ever gone from seeing Tyler and I sure can feel it! It’s been about 18 weeks.  That may not seem long to you…but it feel’s like an eternity to me! Tyler is feeling it too!  We have lots and lots to do to get the house ready along with Thanksgiving too, so I am going to get right to it!  Ina has a great Color Challenge for us over at Just Us Girls this week! Before you say, “Hey Nancy where is your gold?” Look very, very closely at the center of my flowers! I used GOLD Stickles. LOL  I kinda feel like I cheated on a test…But it is there..I promise!! LOL I Loved the Teal and Purple so much…I made two more cards! I only need two more Christmas Cards and I am finished with my quota!  It looks like I am going to make my deadline of December 1st! Woohooooo!

flowerchallengaspecialocassionI am also going to link the above card up over at a new challenge site called The Flower Challenge (which was started by the talented Aileen Ryan) where the challenge is a Special Occasion!  I wish them the best of luck…I think they are going to be very successful!

Card Details: The Stamps are from Verve, except the Happy Birthday is from SU.  The snowflakes peeking out from under the Pointsettias is a Martha Stewart Punch. I used my Prisma Colored pencils to color with.

I sure appreciate you stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving, just in case I don’t post anything else before then! Hugs, Nanc’

Presents

dsc_0304

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  Let’s get right to it shall we!  It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and our topping for the next couple of weeks is Presents. I’m just going to come out and say that I am not a fan of this card, but we can’t love them all now can we?  I think the best part about it is the Happy that I made with Washi Tape. The present looks like an after thought, even though the present was stamped and colored first. The cool star borders are from Verve and the star stitched dies are MFT.  The present stamp is from who knows where…. something I have had for eons.

Now come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us!  I know for sure you can do a better job than I did with this one.  My talented team and guest designer Sherrie sure did!  Speaking of Sherrie!  I would like to give her a HUGE thanks for being such a fabulous Surprise Party Guest the past two months and hope to see you in our gallery from time to time!

See you at STB!  Nanc’

Stencils

dsc_0294

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  I am going to make this short and sweet as I have a Baseball game that I have to watch here in a few minutes! I had such a great time making this card for our challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  The topping this time around is to use STENCILS on your card and or project.  This stencil is from The Crafters Workshop and I think I have only used it twice at this point. (Not sure why) I mixed and matched the sentiments from many different companies, however the bold die is from Verve.  I decided to cut out the circles to give the card some added dimension.  My only regret is, I think instead of outlining the circles with a black pen, I should have mounted them on black paper instead.  Well, there is always next time. The accent little pearls were carefully placed…maybe to cover up a mistake or three! LOL

I sure hope you head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out my fabulous teams work along with our guest designer Sherrie! You will be in for a treat!

BTW……Go Cubbies! Of course when this goes live, I may or may not be celebrating!  Fingers crossed!  Nanc’

Lots of Leaves

dsc_0286

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for the next challenge over at Seize the Birthday! The topping this time around is “Lots of Leaves.”  Before I get to my card, we also have 3 fabulous new Design Team Members starting with us today over at Seize the Birthday, and I couldn’t be more happy to have them. Welcome Ashwini, Sandy, and TaeEun to the team! I am so happy to have you with us!  So after you leave here, head on over to STB and check out my welcome post, you can learn a little bit more about our new members and check out all the fabulous cards from the Design Team as well! My team really rocks! 🙂

Here are some card details:  The leave stamps are from Verve’s Harvest Blessings, aren’t they super fun?  The sentiment is something I picked up from who knows where, and the dotted label is from Gina K Designs. The Embossing folder is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

sip-any-tic-tac-toe-70-800-768x994I am linking my card up at a new to me Challenge site called Stamp Ink Paper, where they have a Tic Toe Challenge going on.  I chose the diagonal of Orange, Autumn and Patterned Paper.

Hope you have a terrific day and stop by STB to check out the work of the design team and play along! Nanc’

Happy, Happy Birthday!

dsc_0216

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for a brand new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  It’s  Anything Goes this time, so if you just so happen to be making some Birthday cards and or projects over the next couple of days, I sure hope you will consider joining us! The team and our new Surprise Party Guest Sherrie have done some outstanding work this time around. Welcome Sherrie!  We are so glad you with us for the next couple of months!  The STB challenge runs for nearly two weeks so you have plenty of time!  It’s been a while since I got out my candle die cuts from Elizabeth craft Designs and they always are so much fun to decorate with paper and make them all snazzy. The Happy Birthday sentiment ( from Gina K) is stamped all the way down the blue background paper, but I nearly ended up covering the entire thing with the rest of my layers. I stuck a thin piece of paper through my label die and added those small blue dots for added interest. The white piece of paper is a fun die from Paper Smooches that I haven’t played with nearly enough.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!  Take care,  Nanc’
