Lots of Leaves

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for the next challenge over at Seize the Birthday! The topping this time around is “Lots of Leaves.”  Before I get to my card, we also have 3 fabulous new Design Team Members starting with us today over at Seize the Birthday, and I couldn’t be more happy to have them. Welcome Ashwini, Sandy, and TaeEun to the team! I am so happy to have you with us!  So after you leave here, head on over to STB and check out my welcome post, you can learn a little bit more about our new members and check out all the fabulous cards from the Design Team as well! My team really rocks!🙂

Here are some card details:  The leave stamps are from Verve’s Harvest Blessings, aren’t they super fun?  The sentiment is something I picked up from who knows where, and the dotted label is from Gina K Designs. The Embossing folder is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

sip-any-tic-tac-toe-70-800-768x994I am linking my card up at a new to me Challenge site called Stamp Ink Paper, where they have a Tic Toe Challenge going on.  I chose the diagonal of Orange, Autumn and Patterned Paper.

Hope you have a terrific day and stop by STB to check out the work of the design team and play along! Nanc’

Happy, Happy Birthday!

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for a brand new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  It’s  Anything Goes this time, so if you just so happen to be making some Birthday cards and or projects over the next couple of days, I sure hope you will consider joining us! The team and our new Surprise Party Guest Sherrie have done some outstanding work this time around. Welcome Sherrie!  We are so glad you with us for the next couple of months!  The STB challenge runs for nearly two weeks so you have plenty of time!  It’s been a while since I got out my candle die cuts from Elizabeth craft Designs and they always are so much fun to decorate with paper and make them all snazzy. The Happy Birthday sentiment ( from Gina K) is stamped all the way down the blue background paper, but I nearly ended up covering the entire thing with the rest of my layers. I stuck a thin piece of paper through my label die and added those small blue dots for added interest. The white piece of paper is a fun die from Paper Smooches that I haven’t played with nearly enough.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!  Take care,  Nanc’

Soft and Simple @ STB

STB ToppingsHello Friends, It’s once again time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  The topping this time around is Soft and Simple!  Easy huh? I decided to get back out my new Altenew Stamp Set Beautiful Day and get to work. The sentiment however is not from this set, and for the life of me I can’t remember where it’s from.  That’s clearly a sign that I own way to many stamp sets and shouldn’t clean up so quickly after a card is complete!  Before I go, one of my good friends and fellow Design Team members Sharyn is needing to leave STB after this challenge and I want to take a minute to tell her that she will be extremely missed!  Your beautiful cards and friendship mean the world to me Sharyn and I want you to know you will always have a place at STB, if you choose to return! Be well my friend!  I also would like to thank Monika Reeck for being such an AWESOME Surprise Party Guest these past two months and we hope to see you in the gallery from time to time in the near future.

Speaking of gallery, head on over to STB and check out my amazing teams work and while your there…join us!  Nanc’

Frames @ Seize the Birthday!

STB ToppingsHello and Happy Thursday!  Today over at Seize the Birthday our topping option is Frames.  Always remember though, it’s just and option.  If you want to just make a Birthday card and or project that is okay too.  Not sure where my head was with this card?  I’m just going to say that, I thought it was a cool idea at the time to double my frame…not sure what I think now…but the damage is done and the card is already sent out. I must say that I send out all of my cards and rarely have a stash on hand, which I think is a really good problem to have! This rose stamp is a stamp without a name.  About two months ago I got a treasure load of stamps from a friend and this one was in that bunch.  The sentiment however is from Verve and the bow die is from Paper Smooches. The framed die is from MFT.  I attempted to color my rose with colored pencil.

Come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out my fabulous teams creations and while you are there join us, we would love to have you!  Take care, Nanc’

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 11.06.09 AMHello from soggy Florida!  We have endured Hurricane Hermine and the 12 inches of rain very well and have spent the past couple of days tinkering inside the house and catching up on some of our Amazon Prime and Netflix series.  As I am writing this post we still are having some wind gusts of about 4o mph. It keeps you on your toes for sure. We didn’t have school on Thursday or Friday due to so much flooding, and also have Monday off for Labor Day. I guess I could complain, but I can’t figure out why. LOL  I guess I will just have to endure! (insert snarky face) Okay, onto today’s card!  It’s Word Week over at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen the word Travel.   I started this card quite awhile ago at a girls’s stamping get together, and when I came across Ina’s challenge I was thrilled that I had something started.  Here is a link to the old Jalopy car by Sizzix and the embossing folders are from Cuttlebug. I do not personally own either of these, as they belong to my good friend Janet. Isn’t that car the coolest?  On the inside the card reads, “You’re not old you’re Vintage.” LOL  I decided the card needed a little something on the front so I added the 3 pieces of sentiment. I also love taking a sanding block to an embossing folder and letting some of the white underlay peer through. I think it works exceptionally well on masculine cards, don’t you?

DSC_0226Before I go I would like to welcome our new Guest Designer for the month…. Kathy Schweinfurth, Stamps At Play.  Welcome Kathy!  The girls and I are thrilled you are with us!  Speaking of the girls!  You have to go look at the entire team’s cards, they are terrific this week!  I hope you decide to join us too!   Have a great weekend, and with any luck we will dry out and the sun will peer his face today!  HUGS! Nanc’

You Make Life Colorful…

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  I hope you are having a wonderful week!  It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  The topping we have for you this time around is ” Tags.” You can make one tag, a set of tags, or put a tag on your card and or project.  Your choice!  Monika is still with us as our Surprise party guest and herself and the entire team did an amazing job with this challenge.  The card above is already in the hands of my “Birthday Sister” as we both so fondly refer to one another. She also just so happens to be a talented STB Design Team member.  Barbara Campbell and I share the same birthday.  Leo’s rule, what can I say….LOL  Okay, this card is a mix of paper piecing and colored pencils.  The background heart die and that sweet crazy dressed little girl is from MFT. The sentiment is a mix of this and that, which I so enjoy doing and do quite a lot.

Have a terrific day and if you find yourself in the mood to get crafty…why not make add a tag and join us at STB!  Nanc’

Anything Goes at STB!

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  I am going to have to make this a super quick post today as it is my birthday today when I am writing this and hubby is taking me out to dinner.  I was short on time so I cased THIS fabulous card that I found on Pinterest!  I  started off by sponging the background, I then stamped the balloons on the card base in black.  Then I stamped them again so that I could watercolor them and pop them up for some dimension on the card base. I added some splatters of color, some stars, shadows on the balloons, the sentiment, and I was done.  I love the way it came together!  Sentiment and balloons are from Verve.

Before I go I would like to welcome the talented Monika Reeck to our team, she will be with us at Seize the Birthday for the next two months as our Surprise Party Guest!  Welcome Monika, I am so glad you are with us!  Have a great week everyone and if you have some time to be creative, I hope you will consider joining us over at STB for our Anything Goes Challenge!  Just remember it has to be a birthday project! Nanc’

Screen Shot 2016-07-09 at 2.58.55 PMHello,  It’s Word Week over at Just Us Girls and the word Sharyn has for us is Water.  I made the above card for a very dear friend and fellow design team member Judy, as it was just her birthday a little over a week ago.  The other girls and I couldn’t believe she was 70.  Age is just a number right?  I hope she loved my card as much as I loved making it for her.  I have to give credit where credit is due. Here is the terrific card I cased.  You can’t tell in my photo but the bubbles, the seahorse, and the fish all are covered in glossy accents. I so wanted to write Birthday Fishes on my sentiments but after 5 attempts with tiny alphabet stamps, it just wasn’t meant to be.  The stamps are a collage of this and that, so if you have any questions just let me know! The seahorse is a die- cut that I sponged, the background is sponges as well and the waves are a MFT die. Oh, and the fish were colored with colored pencils.

Before I go, I would like to welcome Colleen Foelker our Guest Designer to the team!  I have been fortunate enough to meet Colleen in person and she is as sweet as she is talented! Welcome Colleen, we are thrilled to have you joining us this month!

Now, please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the rest of the team has been up to this week!  Take care,   Nanc’

Pink and Brown…

STB ToppingsHello friends,  The summer is racing by and so are our challenges over at Seize the Birthday.  Can you believe that it’s the end of July already?  I sure can’t! And in another week I will be back at work trying to stay cool. Anyhoo, let’s change the subject and talk about our next topping option over at Seize the Birthday!  For our ” topping” this time, we have one of my favorite color combos; Pink and Brown.  I started off my morning on Pinterest as I often do, and came across this card HERE that I decided I would love to Case!  If you enjoy Pink and Brown as much as I do I hope you will consider stopping on over at STB and joining us!  This card was made with a combination of Gina K Designs stamps and Stampin Up.  Take care, Nanc’

Wishing You a Par-fect day!

Hello friends!  Hope this post fines you well and your weekend is off to a great start!  Today’s card is for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  I recently have taken up the game off golf and this photo wasn’t to difficult for me as I have the perfect stamp set to use from Gina K Designs.  If you find yourself puzzled on what to do with this Inspiration Photo, come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the entire team did along with our guest Carol, I am sure it will spark your creativity! Not all of us went with the literal golf theme!  I used Prisma colored pencils to color the image and chalk to make the sky and the grass. I used one of my favorite EF from SU (Lattice) to add texture to my golfball.

Hope you have a tee-riffic day! Nanc’
