Circles and PRIZES!

Hi, Just Us Girls is hitting a huge milestone today! This is our 500th Challenge!  Can you belive it!  I feel very lucky to be a part of such a long and successful challenge site, filled with fellow designers that I refer to as my friends. I can’t wait to see how we celebrate our 1,000th challenge!  I have a fun card for you today that is for our Trend Week at Just Us Girls.  All you have to do is use circles on your card and or project.  I had a little fun with this topic and got out my Verve flowers and went to work. The die cut is from MFT, and I used Oxide inks for my pops of color.

Come check out all the creative ways my teammates and guest Tristan handled this Challenge this week.  THERE ARE PRIZES too… 3 in fact!

Please help us in celebrating and join us!  I am off to celebrate something too…my birthday!

Hugs,

Nanc’

DAD

Hi friends, Over at Creative with Stamps, it’s Masculine this month. So I got out my trusty fish set from SU and went to work.  The bold letter dies are from Sizzix, the paper is from SU, and the wave die is MFT.  I really like how the fish came out. That’s all from me today!  I head back to work tomorrow! Boohoooo! Hope I can continue all the card making that I managed to get done this summer. We shall see!

Flowers and Fun with Family and Friends!

Hello,  Flowers is the topping we have starting today over at Seize the Birthday! The card I have for you above was one I had made a while ago and never got around to posting.

Card Details: Oxide Inks and stenciling, MFT- flowers and wonky rectangles, Vase is Gina K on puffy paper, Circle- SU, the fancy tag is probably Spellbinders, the sentiment is computer generated. Lots of pop dots for dimension.

Before I go I would like to quickly share where I have been the last week or so. Hubby and I took a trip to Chicago and we spent three days exploring the fabulous city.  Then Fellow STB-DT member and my Birthday sister Barb and her husband Tom picked us up at the train station. We then got to spend a few more days in Kenosha, Wisconsin at their lovely home. We had a great time and they were such gracious hosts.  We also took a drive up to Gina K’s store and lucky for us she was there.  It was nice to meet the person that helped start this crazy and wonderful hobby of mine.  If it wasn’t for Gina K and other stamping companies, I would never have met so many wonderful card makers, and for that, I will always be grateful.  Some photos from our trip:

View from our Hotel room.

Our room is at the top of that narrow peak.  If you are ever looking for a nice hotel in downtown Chicago…I recommend The River Hotel.

Fountain Park

Having lunch on the River.

Moonet! I love it!

Lunch with Dave’s cousins. Lynne on the far left works in downtown Chicago. Gary and Jean came up from Michigan.

Love the reflection of the city on the bean in Millennium Park.

Lunch with my cousin Peggy who works in downtown Chicago.

We loved hanging out down by the river. We walked 30 miles in less than three days.

Me in front of Calder sculpture in the middle of downtown.

Gina’s store is about 45 minutes from Barb’s house in Greendale Wisconsin.

Gina K, Barb, and the Jolly Green Giant.

Birthday sisters- Having lunch by the river in downtown Milwaukee.

Me, Dave, Barbara, and Tom. We decided we are all siblings from another mother. The guys are alike and we already knew we were so much alike.

Barbara and I in her Craft room the day we left!

Thanks for sticking with me on this post! Now it’s back to reality! I go back to work on Monday…boohooo!

Take care, Nanc

Rainbow…

YES, I know this card looks quite similar to the last card I posted for Seize the Birthday.  I thought about not posting it and trying again, but then I thought what the heck… I like it…so post it!  So HERE it is!  Although, last time our topping was Sunshine and this time the topping is Rainbows, so they are different. LOL All the diecuts including the three white scallops at the base of the card ( that you can hardly see) are all from MFT. The only thing that is not, is the sentiment! That is my go-to from Verve. I hadn’t used my buttons in forever so it was good to find them again.

You must pop on over to STB and check out all the rainbow of color!  They are all so pretty and oh so different!  While you are there give our guest Su Mohr some love.

Take care, Nanc’

Birthday Bouquet!

Today I have a Birthday card for the CAS Watercolour Challenge where they are asking us to make a Bouquet of flowers in Darnell’s honor. I couldn’t pass this challenge up, as I just adore Darnell to pieces. Happy Belated Birthday Darnell!  I always feel like I am cheating when I heat emboss my watercolor piece, but so far that is all I have confidence in doing.  Maybe someday I will try my hand at no-line watercolouring.

Card details:  The images are from Stampendous and colored with Catherine Pooler and SU inks. Rectangles are SU and so are the enamel dots.

Have a fabulously creative day, Nanc’

Smile…it’s your Birthday!

Hello friends,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word is Smile!  Last September when I was visiting MFT with (fellow DT member) Bobby and Michelle Ferguson (a friend I met online), I took a picture of a card in their lovely store that I fell in love with. Finally, nearly a year later I CASED it and added my own touch with the clouds.  It’s not perfect, but I do love how it turned out.  I used the MFT cloud stencil and Oxide inks to do my blending. I ended up making a mask to make it work out completely.

Below you will see a photo of the card that inspired me.

Card Details:  SMILE-wooden stamp, it’s your birthday-Verve, Clouds-Lawn Fawn, Wonky Rectangles-MFT.

Thanks for stopping in and if you have a chance to head over to Just Us Girls, please help us in welcoming our new Guest Emma Delfosse!

Sunshine!

Hello, First Happy Fourth of July to all my USA friends and followers!  I am here today with a card for a new challenge starting over at Seize the Birthday! I happen to be the host of this challenge and our topping for the next two weeks is SUNSHINE!  I should have checked the date of my post a few months ago and picked a more appropriate topping like stars and or stripes.  I missed the boat on this one!

We also have a brand new Surprise Party Guest joining us for the next two months and that is Su Mohr!  Welcome to STB Su!  We are so happy you will be with us for the next two months.

Card Details: A mix of MFT( rainbow and heart), Lawn Fawn(clouds and sun) and SU(sentiment)…oh and some oxide ink blended badly!  The layout for this card is something I saw on Pinterest and not my own idea.

Have a great sunshiny day however you chose to spend it! Nanc’

Hard to Love!

Hi, Hope you are having a creative week! I managed to squeeze a bit of time in my studio yesterday and created two cards to share. Have you ever purchased a stamp set and every time you try to love it….you just can’t?  That is how I feel about the older set I have for you today by SU, it’s called Lotus Blossom. I decided instead of throwing the blossoms into the circular file after I stamped them, I would forge ahead and see what I could do to jazz them up. However, I have a strong feeling it’s going to be a while again before this set leaves my shelf.  As negative as I have been about my card, sorry about that, I must admit I love the Color Cardstock and Ink from SU- it’s called Rich Razzleberry. Both my designs were inspired by this great sketch over at The Paper Players.

Thanks for stopping by, Nanc’

Card Info: The sentiments I used are Stampendous (above) and Ink on 3.

The enamel dots are SU.

The EF’s are…??(leaves) and (flowers)Cuttlebug.

The leaf punch is SU.

Winka Stella on the blossoms too.

More Bees are Buzzing…..

I am back today with more Bumble Bees for the Twofer Challenge and the great sketch going on at Freshly Made! I told you I kinda got carried away and made just a few Bee cards the other day…LOL.  I have a bad habit of not wanting to waste any scraps and I had leftover Alchohol ink paper that I had to put to use, and then I had the bright negative pieces from a couple of days ago card, that I thought might be kinda fun to use.

In hindsight I am disappointed that I added the navy dots around the bee…but once I started I had to embrace it. Isn’t that DP gorgeous! I am sorry but I have NO idea whose it is.  If I had to take a wild guess I would say Blue Bunny. I got it from my Local Stamping store. Here is a closer look. The vellum bee really makes the card and doesn’t take away from that beautiful paper. The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh.  I made a mistake on the Sketch and centered my sentiment. 😦

Here is another card that really showcases the paper beautifully, and the leftover negative pieces I couldn’t waste!  The sentiment is from Verve and the enamel dots are SU.

That is all for me today!  Hope you have a fabulous day however you wish to spend it! I am going back to party planning and might make a card or two. Nanc’

Perfect Pearls..

Do you ever buy a crafting supply because you saw it on a YouTube Video (probably Jennifer McGuire) and you had to run out and buy it right away?  Then years later, you see a challenge asking you to use it and the light bulb comes on in your head and you’re like…hey, I have that stuff! Well, that’s exactly what happened this week for me! I am sure it’s happened to you too!! At least humor me and agree that it has. 😉  The funny thing is… if I just “HAD TO HAVE IT” way back then, why on earth is the packaging still intact? LOL

Okay, enough of my silly rant! Today’s card was so much fun to make using my “New” Perfect Pearls and joining in the fun over at CAS Stencil Challenge.  The Perfect Pearls is a tad messy and I highly recommend that you use a fixative spray when you’re done, so it doesn’t continuously wipe off on your hands. I liked it a lot before I sprayed it and loved it even more after I took it outside and gave it a good douse. It seemed to enrich the color.

Then I had to figure out what to do next!  I decided that I would turn the pretty paper into both birthday candles and (flowers for a later post) as to not waste a scrap. The pretty scalloped foil paper is SU made with an MFT die. The sentiment is Hero Arts, and the candles are a die-cut by Elizabeth Craft Designs. The little tiny pearls I placed in each corner are SU and match perfectly!

Here are a couple other pics!

Have a wonderful day! Nanc’
