Lots to Share!

Hi Friends,   I have a lot to share with you today!

First, I am going to share with you my card and tell you

what challenges I am linking it up to!

IMG_0002

This stamps set is from Gina K Designs over at Stamp TV and is called Fleur di lis.

I LOVE it!!!  I have it linked up for you!IMG_0001

I must say I was pretty happy with this one…which is nothing I get to say all to often!

Great Inspiration Photo chosen by my Teammate Marisa over at Just Us Girls.

Screen Shot 2014-05-19 at 6.27.58 PM

It all started with this great clean Sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS Final 142-001

Then I wanted to make sure I played along with the Stamp TV Monday Challenge

which is being hosted by my BFFIBL and fellow teammate times 2 Sharyn!

By the way BFFIBL stands for ( Best Friend Forever In Blog Land) Teehee!!! 🙂

STV Challenge

Now onto some Personal FUN I have had over the past month!

My good friend Sue Lelli and I had the opportunity to take a class together that was

being taught by Teresa Collins. She shared with us some of her new products that

were going to be featured the next day on HSN.  I had a really great time!

She was very sweet and very talented!

Horrible photo of me!  YUCK!

Then recently I also got to see a very dear and so amazing friend of mine and fellow

DT member over at Seize the Birthday, JoAnn Burnham.  She has been through a rough patch in life and

is the most faithful, resilient, and upbeat person I have ever met.  I admire her more now then I did before!

We met for lunch, took a Stamping class at a local craft store, and then went shopping.

It was a wonderful day and one I will cherish!

Now, Please head on over to Just Us Girls and see what my talented teammates did this week!

Talk about some serious Eye Candy!

We also need to say goodbye and thanks to our wonderful Guest Designer

Shirley -Bee.  You were a joy to work with!

Take care,

Just Us Girls…Inspiration Time.

JUGS PI

I can’t take credit for this cute design…a good friend of mine came up with it!

I love it…don’t you?  Wish I had those sandals on right now and I was at the beach!

Most of the supplies are from Stampin UP and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Come on over to Just Us Girls and see what the talented teammates of mine did with this Inspiration Photo!

We all interpreted it quite differently!  Love that!

Photo Inspiration at JUGS!

Good Day….everyone!

Today my friend and fellow DT member Vicki over at Just Us Girls

has a wonderful Photo Inspiration for us to help kick our Mojo into gear.

Well, let me tell you it worked!

Isn’t it full of inspiration!!!

IMG_0003

Here is a close-up of my cute buttons!

IMG_0009

I took my inspiration obviously from the color palette, my victorian black paper

down my card was to mimic the black plate on the bottom that doesn’t

have a perfect round edge, the lace because it’s such a fancy place setting,

and last the flowers- I thought they looked quite elegant with the button centers,

just like the big, bold center of a sunflower.

Also, not sure if you realized, but those yellow dots I have grouped throughout the card…

are the center of my buttons….waste not want not! LOL

They fell onto the card and I thought…Hey that looks cool!

Card Details:

Cardstock: SU and scraps of CM

Stamps: Hobby Lobby and SU- Sentiment

Tools: Cuttebug,Fiskars- Victorian blade

MFT- scalloped die and button die,

SU punches, and a heat gun

Acc: twine, pop dots, and lace, black embossing powder

I so appreciate you stoppin’ by and

Please won’t you join the DT and myself at Just Us Girls this week???

We would love if you did!

Hosting @ Just Us Girls and More…

JUGS+186

I am thrilled to be your HOSTESS this week for my first hosting job as part

of the Design team at Just Us Girls.

When I realized my first challenge was going to be a photo challenge,

I immediately thought of pink and black (my favs) and hopped on over to google images.

After just a couple of seconds, I found these two photos that I knew would be perfect!

I picked two images so that you might have a few choices.

You may either get inspirations from the color pallet and take that route,

reproduce some flowers like I have done,

or you may be intrigued by the damask pattern on the purse.

 You decide!

IMG_0014

Now the details:  I used my spectrum Noir pens and colored the BACK of my flowers

after I heat embossed them on Vellum with white embossing powder.

LOVE this look!

I first saw this technique over at Driven to Ink blog….a few years ago.

Over at the Pink Elephant that is the challenge this week… to “Lift” or “Case” a card or technique.

TPE-ChallengeBanner2

So I chose the Technique of Embossing and Coloring on Vellum!

So, I will also be linking this card to their challenge as well as

over at Addicted to CAS.

My second entry!

ATCAS - code word flower

They asked us to use flowers.

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

I’m THRILLED to have hosted the fun with Just Us Girls, this week…

PLEASE  WON’T  YOU JOIN THE GIRLS AND I !!

Can’t wait to see what you link up!

Nancy

Ombre Technique…

If you saw the title of this post you might be curious…

What the heck is an Ombre Technique?

Well, it just means using gradient colors from either

light to dark or dark to light.  Simple right?

JUGS184

This week Jugs challenge is being sponsored by

Dare 2B Artzy!!!

Dare2BLogo

Yep, that’s right – the winner of this week’s challenge will get to choose

the stamp set they want!  Thanks so much Cindy — so generous of you!

Today’s JUGS challenge was so much fun to make.

Here is what I came up with.

Jugs light to dark

The first thing I did was…

embossed the script background onto a piece of white card stock

using Opaque embossing powder.

After I heat set it, I took some SU Pool Party ink and my sponge

dauber and applied the ink from light to dark.

This wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, I realized it is hard for

me to apply a small amount of ink.  I must be a heavy sponger just like

I am a lead foot driver. TeeHee!  So this is my second attempt.

In-fact, I think now maybe I should have tried again.  Next, I added

some images (Close to My Heart) around the perimeter of the card using the same ink.

The sentiment Beautiful is actually from Prima.

My borders are both Martha Stewart and My Favorite Things.

The tag is from Spellbinders and the letters Y.O.U and floral swirl

I cut out with my cricut.  Added some flowers for a final touch!

Don’t let my 2 attempts scare you away…

You can achieve this effect using papers instead of ink as well!

I hope you enjoyed my card and what I really hope

is that you will pop on over to JUGS and join the team and I

and show us what you can do with this great….. Ombre Technique!

Have a great day!

Nancy

MUSE- A source of Inspiration!

Good Morning,

I am Super excited today to share with you my card, but not only that….

I found one of the coolest new Creative Challenge sites to play along with a few weeks ago,

and I can’t wait to share it with you!  It is called MUSE!

At the top of their blog they have the definitions for Muse.

One of them states: A source of Inspiration!

Isn’t that so cool!!!  Jackie Rockwell is the brains behind this blog

and another one that I love called CASE(E) this Sketch.

and I haven’t even told you the best part yet!

Here are their 3 simple rules over at Muse:

*Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse.
*Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member’s submissions.
*Vote for 3 of your fellow member’s submissions that you find inspiring.
Isn’t that so cool!!!  We the blog followers get to vote!
I don’t know about you but, I think that was pure Genius!
So here is my first card that I am linky over at Muse this morning!
I was determined last night to not miss this opportunity again!
I used my Scor-pal to mimic the box in the design!
I also, stamped the pink flower twice and only raised part
of the petals the on the second image!
Muse 6
And here is the source of inspiration!
Isn’t it Beautiful!!!
muse5_deanna
Which was to incorporate at least 3 buttons in your project.
It was hosted by someone I adore and admirer and
I wanted to make sure I played along!
I can never miss a Mix it Up Monday Challenge …They are always so much fun!
Also, I used one of my FAVORITE GKD Stamp sets….
Hugs and Prayers for this card!

If you have never joined in a challenge over at retro sketches before, what are you waiting for?

Hope you have a great Friday, hubby and I are heading back to the beach tomorrow!! :0

For Your Inspiration

Happy Saturday!  The card I have for you today is for an inspiration Photo challenge over at FYI.  As soon as I saw the colors I knew I had to play along!  Isn’t that Photo just gorgeous!!  On this particular card, I thought it might be fun to make my own DP.  It didn’t come out perfect, but not bad for my first attempt. I realize their is no blue in the Inspiration photo, but I thought it worked well with the rest of the colors and gave it a little pop.

Thanks so much for all your comments they make my day!

Mojo Monday-202 Contest

Let me tell you I am on a roll today.  I have made a total of 7 cards from one piece of DP that I absolutely love!  I think that is a record and I still have some of the paper left.  LOL This Mojo Sketch Challenge that I decided to try, was just that…A Challenge.  I was having great difficulties putting it together, but stuck with it and it finally came together!

I can’t thank you enough for stopping by, and always I love to here from you!

Hugs,
