I Sea it’s your Birthday…

Hello,  I have two fun cards for you today!  The process began when I decided I wanted to make a water scene and use my NBUS Seahorses from Lawn fawn. I am embarrassed to say that I have had them for nearly a year and had yet to crack the seal.  The stamp set gave me the idea to get out my Iridescent Texture Paste and the fun geometric stencil and make a fun water scene.  I also used my MFT wave stencil and my Prisma Colored pencils.  These cards were a lot of fun to create. I even added my own lines on the seahorses to give them some more personality.  I had a hard time photographing them as I am still having computer issues and as soon as I open up iphoto my computer shuts down. So, I used my phone instead.

I am playing along with 3 challenges today! I was tickled to see NBUS Challenge blog started by Darnell again….(Congrats girl!)

The layout is for CAS(E) this Sketch.

And over at CAS Stencil, they want us to use Gilding Flakes and hope my texture paste will suffice.

Water

DSC_0147

Hello,  Hope you are having a great day so far!  Life has hit a big bump at the moment and I am hanging on by a thread! My dad (88) fractured his pelvis and I am running on fumes.  So bare with me the next few weeks or months till things settle down. Today is the start of our next challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  The topping we have for you today is Water.  Luckily for me this card has been done for quite sometime or I wouldn’t have had anything to share with you today!  I can’t even begin to tell you where this image is from…it’s a digital I printed about 5+ years ago. I used my colored pencils, some MFT and Lawn Fawn dies to complete my card. The sentiment is Verve of course!

I sure hope you will drop by over at Seize the Birthday and check out the DT and Surprise Party Guest’s work and join us! HUGS too! Nanc’

Winter Blessings

Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 2.15.56 PMHello Friends,  and hello three day Weekend! WhoopWooooo!  Working in the school system sure has it’s perks! Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Trend Week.  So it’s time to break out those tags and incorporate them on your card and or project. I really had a great time putting this card together.  I made the background of my tag using the smoothing technique and got to break out my new snow hill dies from Lawn Fawn and use them for the first time too.  The paper is from Echo Park and is called Hello Winter and the penguin is something I picked up at Michaels. I loved paper piecing his cute little hat and scarf.   The sentiment I do believe is from Gina K designs.

I hope you find sometime to join us this week, and if you get picked as our Chic of the Week you just might end up being our next Guest Designer too.

I am taking a road trip south today to meet up with my Birthday Sista’ and stamping friend Barbara for lunch, and I am beyond excited to see her again!

Take care and enjoy your day, I know I will!  Nanc’

Thankful…

DSC_0524Hello, Hope this post finds you doing well! I have a card for you today that is for two challenges; Colour Me and Freshly Made Sketches.  I have been eyeing both of these challenges all week and finally had time to play along today.  I think the pink sun was a fun idea, what do you think?  Be honest!  I love my new Lawn Fawn die cut set and the sentiment is from Verve in the So Happy set. The DP is both Creative Memories and Ki Memories paper pack called Enchanted.  I inlaid the sun into the paper, I love that look.

Have a great start to your work week,  Take care Nanc’

Use the Negative

DSC_0466

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and the topping this time around is to use the negative.  I love my new Lawn Fawn set and I realize I just used the sun on my last post, I sure hope you don’t mind seeing it again.  I can’t take credit for the design of this card, I CASED one of my FAVORITE designers Tracey McNeeley,  I fell in love with her card as soon as I came across it!  You will see it below!  Overlapping the sun and the cloud I think is a cool effect! As I said, the clouds and sun are from Lawn Fawn and the Happy is Stampin Up.  The Birthday is a stamp from Hero Arts. I love how easy it was to inlay the sun into the negative piece of cardstock. I will definitely be doing this again.

I wonder if Tracey knows how much she has inspired me in the card making journey? If you aren’t familiar with her or her work, here is her blog. In My Creative Opinion, and HERE is a direct link to this post. Please come on over to STB and join us.  My Design Team has done an amazing job with this challenge, come on over and have a look!  Have a wonderful day! Nanc’
