Snowy Background

Hello, We have our first challenge of the New Year starting today at Seize the Birthday! Barbara has selected the topping of a snowy background. I love this topping because it isn’t something I do a lot of and I enjoyed the challenge. Plus it forced me to ink up some cute little critters I have not used before from MFT. The cute little trees are from Altenew and I just love them and I think have only used them three times. I colored the critters with Copics and a bit of colored pencils. I used white paint for my snowfall and the rolling hills are from Lawn Fawn. I used my computer for the greeting. Oh, and I inked the sky with oxide inks.

While I am at it I am going to link up over at NBUS with the lovely Darnell!

I hope you are ready to work on stocking up your Birthday cards for the year and will come join us at Seize the Birthday! That team of mine has some amazing work over there! Please take care, Nanc’

Hello!

Hello, I am starting off today with the first challenge of the New Year over at Just Us Girls where I just so happen to be the hostess! It is Word Week and I have the perfect word to welcome the New Year…the word is Hello!

This card was time-consuming but so worth the effort of cutting and stamping all those stems to make a wreath. I just love the way it turned out. I really do love an occasional all die-cut card!

Card Details: The leaves, the Hello, and the flowers are all from MFT. Some gold Nuvo drops for the center of the flowers and randomly placed.

The Just Us Girls team and the TWO Guest designers…Melanie and Carol have some amazing cards over on the blog! Come check them out and play along!

Take care, Nanc’

The Laundry is….

Is this card and die set not the cutest thing ever? All courtesy of MFT of course. My DIL- Sandra asked me to make a card for her expecting sister using this set, and this is what I came up with. Of course, I snooped around Pinterest for some inspiration.  This is the card that inspired me.  I am pretty happy with the results and hopefully she will be too. The card all started with this Sketch I found over at Inspire. Create. Challenges.  I thought the sketch worked well with the poles of the clothesline. This card makes me dream of a GD of my own someday! Oh, what fun that would be. Of course, if they are still living in California, that wouldn’t be good at all! Hopefully, when the time comes they will live closer! Fingers tripled crossed!

Card Details: All dies are MFT, the sky background was blended with Oxide inks, some of the clothes have small punches for embellishments and or DP.

Hope you find some time to be creative today, Nanc

Miss You…

Hi, I hope you are having a great day! Over at Creative with Stamps, they have a new challenge starting and the word this month is Tree. Being a Florida girl I went with the obvious Palm Tree. This card was fun to throw together. I am also going to link it up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where it’s Anything Goes!! I have a few interesting card details below:

Card Details: Oxide Ink Background, used the MFT cloud die upside down for my “White-Capped Waves”, the sandhill is sponged and splatted and then cut with an edge-die from Papertrey Ink, Palm Trees and bare feet are Kitchen Sink Stamps, the Miss You is Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for stopping in, Nanc’

Cover the Card

We have a fun and easy topping for you starting today at Seize the Birthday. My fellow DT member Ashwini wants us to Cover our Cards. Basically what that means is limited white space. The background stamp (Gerbera Daisy- from SSS) I used today is brand new to me and I couldn’t wait to use it.  One day soon I hope to color it too, but I chickened out for this post. LOL I decided to do some emboss resist with my Oxide Inks instead.  The sentiment is Verve and the flower and Smile die is MFT.  I raised the center of the card with some foam for added interest. The smile has a shiny sheen by using crystal effects.

Here is a picture of the panel before I mounted it. If you haven’t tried THESE makeup brushes I suggest you do.  My friend Barb suggested I get them and I am so glad I did!!  Thanks Barb!

Before I go I would like to take a moment to thank our Surprise Party Guest and my friend Linda for joining us these past two months.  It was an absolute pleasure having you Linda!  Please play along again with us when you have the time.  We love your work and you my friend.

I am also going to link my card up over at The Flower Challenge where they want us to Focus on Background stamping. I am so glad I didn’t miss this challenge this month.

Now head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out Linda’s and the amazing teammate’s cards!

Happy Crafting, Nanc’

Friend…

I have another card for you today that is for Time Out Challenges, it happens to be my second entry for this challenge. Once again, it goes along with the part of the phrase about friends.  As I was cleaning up my studio, I came across an envelope of die cuts that a good friend (Barb) punched out for me and it had this cute little bird die in it. So if you want to know whose die cut it is…I haven’t the foggiest. However, I can find out if need be. Anyhoo, I decided to make a blended panel with my Oxide Inks to showcase these cute little birds and just leave them white. The grass is a from MFT and the word friend…is from Pretty Pink Posh.  Topped it with a bow and I was done.

I hope you are enjoying your day.

It’s raining here and I am enjoying it immensely!

In fact, still in my PJ’s and on my umpteenth cup of coffee. 😉 Right now its Salted Caramel….yum yum!!  Nanc’

Water

DSC_0147

Hello,  Hope you are having a great day so far!  Life has hit a big bump at the moment and I am hanging on by a thread! My dad (88) fractured his pelvis and I am running on fumes.  So bare with me the next few weeks or months till things settle down. Today is the start of our next challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  The topping we have for you today is Water.  Luckily for me this card has been done for quite sometime or I wouldn’t have had anything to share with you today!  I can’t even begin to tell you where this image is from…it’s a digital I printed about 5+ years ago. I used my colored pencils, some MFT and Lawn Fawn dies to complete my card. The sentiment is Verve of course!

I sure hope you will drop by over at Seize the Birthday and check out the DT and Surprise Party Guest’s work and join us! HUGS too! Nanc’

Monochrome at The Flower Challenge

Hello,  Hope your day is going well!  Today’s card all started with the negative piece of my very last card I posted.  I also wanted to join in this months The Flower Challenge where the theme is Monochrome.  It’s always fun and a bit challenging to me to make a card in basically all one color, but when it’s pink, it makes it all that much easier. LOL I found this glittery pink heart in a bit box on my desk and I knew it was going to be the perfect added touch.  I made the banner myself with a left over piece of scrap too. How many bit boxes do you have in your craft room? I have several, and vow to organize them by summers end…I can’t throw anything away.

A few card Details:  SU Paper that was colored with Oxide Inks, MFT Stitched Flowers, Verve sentiment and U die.

I hope you find sometime to get creative! Nanc’

You are Unforgettable…

I have another card today for the Daily Marker 30 day Challenge and for this great color combo over at the Color Throwdown.  I really enjoy playing with my Oxide Inks and today’s card is a mix of a little colored pencil with background blending. These MFT elephants just make me smile.  This is the first time I am happy with the results of adding the water droplets to my background. Usually they are so clumpy and look so forced.

I hope you are having a wonderful day! All my stamps and dies are from MFT.  Take care, Nanc’
