Hello Crafty Friend

Hello, I am back today with the next challenge over at Just Us Girls. It’s Word Week and sweet Lisa E. has the word paintbrush for us to be inspired by. I had this leftover paint stroke panel in my stash that was a perfect starting point for my card. For those of you that don’t know, my hubby is a retired Art Teacher. I through him a huge retirement party three years ago, and as you can imagine it was all done with an ART theme. So I have some leftover pieces from the invitations and decorations still laying around in my stash.

HERE is a link to the post where I have some pics from the Retirement Party, if you are interested!

Card Details: Paper Smooches-I Heart Art, Positive Strokes, and Paint Palette and brush die set. The sentiment on the easel is in the I Heart Art set from Paper Smooches, the sentiment at the bottom of the card is from Altenew-Crafty Friends.

I hope you pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out the Fabulous and creative cards by the DT and our new guest Lucie G. Welcome, Lucie. I love your work and am happy to have you designing alongside us for this month.

I hope you find some time to get creative this weekend! Take care, Nanc’

Ombre @ CAS Mix UP Card Challenge

Hi,  I finally have my very first Christmas Card made for this year…Woohoo!!!!  I am so far behind! How about you?  I have been eyeing the CAS Mix Up Challenge all month as I love the Ombre look on any card. This card was made using the new Glitter paste that I fell in love with as soon as I cracked it open.  You can find a link Here!

This already stenciled background piece was sitting on my desk for 2 weeks just waiting to be used. So I got out my Ornament Dies from SU and my favorite Verve Christmas sentiment and went to work. The snowfall EF in the background is also from SU. The bows at the top are from Paper Smooches. What do you think of a non-traditional color for a Christmas card?  I kinda like it! It’s Samba Ink from Catherine Pooler and Flirty Flamingo paper in the background from SU.  I used the glitter paste right over top the ink so it would shine through. I had a very hard time photographing this card.  I guess due to all the shimmer. It looks lovely in real life.

So to wrap things up….for my card, I chose Ombre, Stamping, and Glitter Paste. Thanks for your visits and Happy Stamping! Nanc’

Overlap Stamping

DSC_0065

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and hope you are having a good week so far. I am still trying to kick this Flu bug after 11 days, but hopefully not to much longer!   They say it can last up to two weeks. Today’s cards were inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s overlap stamping technique. Yes, I know I said overlap stamping and you are seeing a lot of white spots in-between my colors and they aren’t quite exactly overlapping, however her video is what truly inspired me to make the panels and or frames on all 3 of my cards!

49The colors and flowers were inspired by the Card Concept this week, where my style is generally Clean and Layered. I used a mixture of a lot of different stamp sets; Stampin- Up, Paper Smooches, and Neat and Tangled.  The cardstock and ink is all SU.If you have any questions just give me a shout out! It’s also time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday where it just so happens to be Anything Goes this time around!

I hope you come on over and join the Design Team and our Surprise Party Guest Jacquie Southas!

Take Care,

Nanc’

You Color My World

DSC_0468

Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 9.25.14 PMHello Friends,  Yeah it’s the weekend and today over at Just Us Girls it’s Color Week and Maria has a very easy color combo picked out for you…White, Navy and Light Blue.  I recently got that cute little crayon stamp, and sentiment from Lawn Fawn and couldn’t wait to use him.  I see many, many more cards in the future with this adorable set, especially with an artist in the house. The splats were made with a stamp from Paper Smooches- called Positive Strokes. The Thanks die is also new and it’s from Savvy stamps and I love it cause it’s the perfect size.  When you look at the photo of the Thanks you may think initially that I screwed it up and didn’t put the correct top on my die stack, because it’s all white.  Well, when I was working on my three die-layers and the one with the splats on top,  I didn’t think it showed up enough, so I decided to put the white won on top instead.

Hope you stop by Just Us Girls this week and check out what the team and our Two Guest Designers have done, and while your there consider joining us!

Take care, Nanc’

Hello Crafty Friend!

DSC_0067

Screen Shot 2015-08-18 at 12.25.33 PMHello Crafty friends,  It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for a brand new challenge over at Just Us Girls.  This week it’s color week and Maria our hostess has picked out some fall colors for us to enjoy working with.  I didn’t embrace the colors and go in the direction of a ” Fall ” card as one might think, as I was in the need of a fun card to send to one of my crafty friends.  This card was quick and so fun to thrown together.  Hope she likes it!  The stamp sets are from Paper Smooches and are called Positive Strokes and I Heart Art.  I paper pieced the paintbrush and added some faux stitching to tie in the black as it looked a little lost.

I sure hope you come by to Just Us Girls and join us if you have time.  Remember if you are chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible guest designer in the future.  Hope to see you there

Nancy

Paper Smooches

DSC_0559

Screen Shot 2015-04-11 at 3.14.09 PMHello Friends,  It’s time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls!  It’s the 5th Saturday of the month, so it’s Wildcard week, and Sharyn has chosen Paper Piecing this week. I never get tired of this technique!  I PP the paintbrush and paint tube, in case you were wondering.  I just got this new set from Paper Smooches and I couldn’t wait to start inking it up.  My hubby asked me why I waited so long to get this set, being an art teacher and all!  That is a very good question, that I have no good answer too!  This set is going to make Perfect Thank You cards for him to give to his students in years to come, and that is what this one is for.

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what my fabulous teammates did this week, and while you’re there please join us!

I would also like to thank Tenia for being our Guest Designer this month, you did a Super job!!

Take care and enjoy your weekend! Nanc’

Breast Cancer Month and My Mom

IMG_0001

( my photos are still not coming out great…UGH!!! )

Today over at CAS on Sunday we have a great Sketch for you to try!

CAS

In Honor of October being Breast Cancer month….I decided it was

time to make a card in honor of my mother.  Who in fact

had beaten breast cancer earlier in her life, but unfortunately passed away from a ovarian cancer

later in life.  She died at the age of 62, far to young!

IMG_0707

Isn’t she beautiful?  This photo was taken right before she was married.

I miss her as much today as I did 20 years ago.

I am going to send this card to a friend who is battling this horrific disease right now!

I hope it helps in some small way!

We have a sponsor and a great prize that is up for grabs over at

CAS on Sunday!

I hope you come on over and join us…we would love to have you!

Card details:

Here is a photo of what I did to make the word hope.

IMG_0002

I took various strips of pink and glued them down on a pink piece of paper

and then cut it out using my Cuttlebug.

Love this look!

The die cuts used for this card are from Paper Smooches.

The banner die at the bottom is from Verve.

I used Sizzix Framelits from SU for my shape and raised

the panel up with pop dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by…..I love when you do it really makes my day!

HUGS
