Peach and Green

Hello, Hope this post finds you well. It’s time for our next duo of colors at Color Hues. The color combo that the lovely Carol has chosen for all of us is Peach and Green. This was such a fun challenge for me as Peach isn’t something I use very often. I will tell you a funny back story real quick. I was working on this challenge at a friend’s house about a month or so ago and I was so happy with how my card was turning out but had plans to finish it when I got home. Later the next day, I sat down to finish it up and when I was looking at it I realized I was staring at peach and grey. LOL Have you ever done that? Let me just say it’s not the first time. You may just be seeing that combo sometime this year. LOL

Card Details: I have a mix of supplies for today’s card. Surprise surprise. LOL I just love the dotted background die that I just got from Sunny Studios called Frilly Frames Polka Dot. It comes with an outer frame and is actually a lot bigger. I cut it down to fit the size I wanted for my card. The flowers and greeting are from Stampendous, and the flowers are heat embossed and watercolored. The leaves are an old stamp from SU and a coordinating punch. I added the green strips of paper to bring the green back again in the design. A few pop dots for dimension and a few clear Nuvo drops to finish it off.

I sure hope you will consider popping on over to Color Hues and joining us! The team’s cards are much more phenomenal than mine-as always! I am going to have to kick it up a notch if I want to stay on this team. 😉

Take care, Nanc’

Anything but a Card

Hello,  I know Halloween has passed, but I knew what I created last month for my Stampin Up ladies would work perfectly for this week’s challenge at Just Us Girls. I made 25 of these to hand out after club where I was the hostess.  I found this idea over on Pinterest.

Here are a few details:  The hair was made with MFT-grass, I used punches for all my circles, a little ink distressing, corner rounding and ribbon and I was done.

Come check out all the amazing projects this week at JUGS!

Screen Shot 2016-02-06 at 12.58.52 PMHello friends,  I am the hostess this week over at Just Us Girls and I just so happen to have picked out a beach photo, so if this card looks similar to my last post it was made the same day.  I had such a good time creating my beach scene with my SU watercolor brush for my Seize the Birthday post that I just couldn’t put it away quite yet. I don’t own any shell stamps or sea creatures, (I know the horror and I live in Florida) and then I remembered a scrapbook page I created eons ago that I used punches on to create my sea creatures.  I got out my scrapbook to locate that page that I was thinking of, and may have gotten sidetracked for awhile and shed a few tears as my baby is not 6 anymore, and recreated my sea creatures.  I know the proportions are a little off, but I think that’s okay.  I again used some white foam to pop up my center shape.  Hope you decide to join me and my fabulous team for our Photo Inspiration at Just Us Girls.  Doesn’t that beach cake look amazing?  Enjoy, Nanc’

Some card details:

My card kinda speaks for itself.  This was the first time I have ever used my SU-Owl punch… YEAH!!

The tree I drew by hand and cut it out.  The leaves were made with the SU- Blossom punch.

The sentiment is from Verve!

Until next time!

Craft On!

Friends…

Hello Blog friends,  Are you watching the Olympics as much as we are?  I never have my TV on during the day but it sure has been on a bunch lately.  Although the Olympics are sucking up a lot of my time I did manage to create this card yesterday afternoon.  I think I snuck away when they were showing Skulling (rowing) I’m not a fan…lol.  This card didn’t turn out quite as planned the blue flower in the corner was added last minute to cover up some poor attempt at continuing the pattern from the design paper.   It worked pretty well and I should have left well enough alone and I pushed it to far!  Please tell me you do that too?  Either use something to cover something up that looks bad…or take things to far and wish you would have just left well enough alone?  I am gong to enter this into two challenges.  The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge…LOVE these type of challenges…makes you so flexible and the other is for the Sketch Challenge at Retro Sketches…they are one of my favorite sketch challenges on the web!

I saw this technique on making circle flowers on Pinterest where you take circles from a punch and make a flower!  Super easy!!!

The sentiment is very old and its Stampin Up!

On the Tic Tac toe board for the Paper Players….I went with Circles, Blue and Floral!

Well enjoy the rest of your day….back to the Olympics for me….girls Water Polo…talk about amazing!

Gotta Love Punches

I have a real simple card today using one of my favorite MS punches, as I have stated before I can’t stop using it!  Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for the bouquet idea (it’s brilliant), I  saw it on Pinterest, but I am pretty happy with the outcome.  I made this card for 2 different challenges.  The 1st one is for a color challenge at CR84FN, and the 2nd one is for Casual Fridays Challenge to use punches.  If you have never visited either of these sites, I encourage you to do so….they are both GREAT and always intrigue me!

Happy Stamping,

Say it with flowers…

I have a card to post here today that wasn’t made for any particular challenge, it”s just a card I created with no particular rules or color specifications in mind. We all have to do that once in awhile don’t we ?  I can honestly say that I am pretty happy with the outcome!   The colors came together really nice and if you didn’t notice I used a butterfly punch cut in half for the petals of the flower.

Thanks for stopping by,
