Congrats on your Retirement!

Hello Friends, Hope you are having a good week so far! It’s been quite wet here for the start of our Summer, and that is a good thing, as we sure did need the rain.  Today’s card is pretty much straight forward.  I started with this great Verve Butterfly stamp and some emboss resist. Then I found this great polka dotted paper to mount it on.  Not sure how I feel about the random tiny flowers now, but at the time I liked it! LOL

Please come by Just Us Girls and join us for Color Week! The team did a real fabulous job! Take care, Nanc’

Congrats on your Retirement

As the school year is coming to an end, I have been in the need of a few Retirement cards.  I was blog surfing to my usual challenge sites that I follow, and I came across Stamp Ink Paper’s 100th Challenge.   I knew this was going to be perfect for the card I had in my head.   By the way….Congrats to them and their Design Team for such a milestone!   I grabbed one of my all time favorite butterfly sets from Verve, my favorite color combo of Kraft and shades of Aqua, Pool Party Ink, and one of the best techniques-heat embossing and went to work.  Here are a few more details: The sentiment I chose is from Stampin Up and the leaf die is from Verve as well, plus I can’t make a card these days without my stitched rectangles from MFT. Look at the DP, isn’t it awesome? So basically the entire card was made from some of my favorite supplies!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend however you wish to spend it!  Take care,  Nanc’

Sponging!

DSC_0046

Screen Shot 2016-06-11 at 11.46.27 AMHello Friends, Hope this weekend is finding you well!  It’s Saturday and time for our new challenge over at Just Us Girls! Vicki has a great one for us,  she asked us to incorporate sponging onto our card and or project! I had such a fantastic time making this card!  I decided to get out one of my neglected Gina K Design stamps to attack this challenge. (Out West 2) The waving wheat is a block stamp from Stampabilities. This card was made about a month ago for a very dear co-worker that retired and has a huge love of horses, as she has two herself.  If you have any questions on how I made this, just let me know! You can also check out some videos like I did from the talented Theresa Momber, and she will get you started! She has so much talent! Please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out the rest of the cards from our very talented team and Guest Designer Carol Mayne.  On a side note… My hubby and I took a red-eye home from Seattle Yesterday, so to say I am still a bit tired is an understatement.  I don’t know about you, but I can’t sleep on airplanes.  So between the 55+ miles we walked in a week’s time, the 3 hour time difference, and some serious jet lag (as the computer seems to be swaying) I don’t know which way is up. LOL  Not to mention, saying goodbye to Ty always puts me in a tail spin for at least a few days. We had such a wonderful time with both Ty and Sandra (his fiance’) and hope it’s not to long before we are all reunited once again.

Hope you have a fabulous day! Laundry and grocery shopping is in my future…How about you?  Nanc’

The Paper Players

DSC_0027

pp300Hello friends,  Over at the Paper Players this week they are celebrating their 300th Challenge, and they also have prizes up for grabs too, so of course I wanted to play along!  I hope a Retirement is considered a celebration to them?  It sure would be to me! LOL I would be celebrating to the cows came home!  I have been eyeing this SU set for quite sometime and I finally ordered it! It is called By the Tide and sure makes the best masculine cards! I also have this awesome turquoise embossing powder that I knew would look fabulous on that navy paper.  I hope you have a fantastic first day of Summer, however you decide (or have) to spend it!  I am still waiting for the window guys to show up!  Why can’t some companies show up with they say they will?  They were suppose to be here last Monday and they pushed me off a week, which was inconvenient.  I don’t understand why they think it’s okay to make you wait with no phone call! What if I was working and not on summer break and had taken the day off?  Okay, enough of my rant!

See you again this week sometime!  Nanc’

Live the Life…..

Screen Shot 2016-04-30 at 2.43.45 PMHello Friends, I am going to make this post rather quick today as I am leaving in the morning for a few days of R and R with hubby for Father’s day weekend. I literally can’t wait!  It’s color week over at Just Us Girls, and let me just say this group of colors makes for a nice tri-fecta!  The leaves and sentiment are from Stampin Up and the flowers are from Verve!  The leaves and flowers were heat embossed. The polka dots were added with some stamps on cardstock for added interest.  I sure hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you find you have sometime to be creative…please come on over and join us at JUGS!  Who know….you maybe selected as our next Chic of the week!  Nanc’

Retirement Card

A very good friend and former boss of mine is having a retirement party tomorrow and this is the card I made for him.  I have the ultimate respect for this man I wish him a wonderful life filled with health and happiness.  Since he absolutely loves to golf,  I knew exactly what type of card to make for him. For those of you who know nothing at all about golf, there is no such thing as the 19th hole, it’s referring to the drinks you have after your round. LOL  I typed the inside of the card on my computer.

This card was not originally my design I got it off of pinterest.  Here is the original below.

My sky looks nothing like hers and I like her flag much better, but it was fun to make!

The website it takes me to is here.  I was unable to find the original card once I went to Julie’s blog. She is very talented!

Have a great day,
