Digital Scrapbooking…

I have an unusual post for you today.

Over at Just Add Ink the challenge is Digital Scrapbooking.

Before I fell in love with card making my first love was scrapbooking.

I still continue to fulfill this passion when I have the time.  I still do the traditional albums too!

This page is from a book I am making for my son.

It’s of his entire High School year.

I am a very SIMPLISTIC scrapper so it’s NOT going to

WOW you in anyway!

That’s my son with his mouth open….He was Drum Major of the High School Band!

I am still struggling with Vertigo…so that is all for now!

Take care and as always I sure appreciate all your visits and your sweet comments.

Rainy Day time to Play

So far we have gotten over 7 inches of rain here in Sunny Florida.  OK enough already!  This girl likes playing in her studio and all, but would really like to mix it up a bit and add some beach time in there.  Well, hopefully this Tropical Storm Debby will make up her mind and move on.  Okay, so now onto what I have been up to today!  Every time one of my siblings turns 50 I make them a scrapbook album of their life from birth to 18….well my brother turns 50 this year in December so it’s time to get this major project underway.  When I did both of my sister’s albums I started in January and February so needless to say I am behind.  That would not be a problem if I was a fast scrapbooker, which I am not!  Also, have found that since I started making cards I am not very good at it either.  To think I started scrapbooking over 15 years ago and now I am afraid to make a page. Geez!!!  Well here is the started page of his album and I will probably go bak later and enhance it somehow because it’s kinda of plain.  This album will prove more difficult than my sisters….when all else failed on theirs, I could just add flowers.  Don’t think that would fly with the bro!

This page was inspired from a sketch challenge over at Unscripted Sketches.  The sky is the limit over at US, so why don’t you join me?

It’s also the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  They always have great colors to motivate you!

Love Blue and Black together…don’t you?

The photo isn’t the best…I am use to taking my photos outside and well that is not an option today!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Scrapbooking Again!

I thought is was time since my website name is Scrapperatheart…that I incorporate some of my scrapbook pages onto my blog.  These are two of some of my favorite pages.  The only thing I dislike about them is my handwriting.  They say one of the true signs of a meaningful scrapbook is one with the creators handwriting in it.  So there you go!  Like or dislike I guess it’s meaningful. LOL I do find that when I find something with my mother’s handwriting on it, I do treasure it more….especially recipe cards.  As you might notice in the photos we are all a lot younger here…well I didn’t say my scrapbooking was current. Who’s is right?

I hope you have a wonderful day and I have inspired you to scrapbook again if you haven’t in awhile!

I’m glad I did!

Baby Gift

I always have a hard time figuring out what to get an expecting mom, because I want the gift to be perfect!  Are you that way too??  I don’t want the new mom to be stuck with more clothes than the newborn could possibly wear and I stand there in the dept. store trying to figure size with temperature outside at the time he or she will be able to fit into it and so on……  Here is my perfect solution!  I made this 11×14 framed Scrapbook page and am thrilled with how it turned out!  I left a spot for the mother to put the babies newborn picture in.  It is the exact colors of the nursery and the shower is tomorrow and I can’t wait to give it to her!!

Hope I have inspired you to give it a try, next time your in a pinch for the perfect baby shower gift!!

Have an amazing weekend!!

Oh,What an Imagination!

My son Tyler has always loved to read and many years ago he read a book called Fire Within, where the character sculpts dragons that in turn come to life.  Well to make a long story short, he asked his dad to bring some clay home from school so that he may try his hand at sculpting his own dragon.  The dragon came out fantastic!!  It is a praying dragon that absolutely touched my heart!  It’s obvious that some his father’s artistic talents rubbed off on him.  It is one of Tyler’s pride posessions to this day!  It shows how important reading is to a child!!!  It sparks so many other avenues of inspiration!   Read to your child often!!!

Happy Scrappin and Reading,

Missing warmer weather!

Today is absolutely gorgeous here in sunny Florida, but according to the weather report another cold front is headed our way!  So I decided since I can’t get away from the cold weather, I would scrap some photos of warmer weather.  These photos were taken in late September of 06′.

Hope you have a great week!

Remember to take time to scrap your heart,

Scrapbooking Again!

Long before I got introduced to stamping and card making I was a very avid “scrapbooker.”  It’s been quite a few months now since I actually picked up some photos (of my own) and I am trying to get my interest to blossom again! Put it this way I use to only be 1 year behind on my scrapbooking and now I am at least 5,  which to many people that sounds really good I know!  LOL

Since my blog name is Scrapper@heart, I thought it was time to try and do both cards and scrapbooking, cause lord knows I don’t want to give up stamping- it’s time to try to challenge myself to do both!  Wish me luck!

Thanks for visiting and if you have time, join my challenge and start working on those photos again!!

Here it is!!   A two page spread!
