Winter Cheer Shaker

Hello, I am back with another Christmas card using the Dancin Deer from Spellbinders, but this time she isn’t dancing she is actually shaking. Well, at least the background is anyway. LOL If you are a regular here on my blog you know I don’t make shakers too often. They intimidate me and I have no idea why as they really aren’t that hard. I have so many sequins and bling in my stash that I really should just get over it and start using them up. LOL. My cute little dear is not inside the shaker she is tucked and glued down in front of the acetate and I just love how this turned out. I have affiliate links to these products below.

Dancin Deer

Tinsel Time Sentiments

Festive Noel

Spellbinders 6

Card Details: First I sponged my cream card-stock to get the perfect tone of brown I wanted for the deer. Then I went searching for a color combo and came across this great SU DSP. I knew I was going to stick a few of the snowflakes on this card as well from the Festive Noel set along with my greeting so I cut those out in complimentary colors. The Tinsel Time Sentiments have really come in handy with all of these cards. Next, it was finally time to make the shaker element and put this card together.

If shakers aren’t your thing I found a really simple video HERE by Amy R that helped me with a refresher course.

I am also linking up once again over at Simon Says Stamps as they are featuring a Christmas theme and Spellbinder products.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share some more cards featuring Spellbinder’s darling new products with you! I hope you have had or are having a wonderfully creative day, Nanc’

Merry

Hello, I hope this post finds you well! I fell in love with the colors over at The Color Throwdown and have two cards to share with you today.

I have had this adorable snowglobe die from Lawn Fawn for a long time and this is the first I have used it.  Oh my goodness is it fun to put together!  Why did I wait so long? I will be making more that is for sure, so you have been forwarned.  I added the bow from Paper Smooches and his face is the cream color as well.  Had to make sure I got all the colors in. The sentiment is from SU and the background stencil is from MFT.  The majority of my Christmas cards I am making this year will all have the MFT stencil somewhere on them. I made 42 backgrounds altogether using white ink about two months ago and have been whittling the stack down ever since.  So fun and quick with a great empact!

Here is a close up so you can see the glittery snow.

Below is my second card! I am linking this up over at CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Over there they want us to use Non-traditional Christmas Colors. The scalloped circle is Spellbinders, the poinsettia is from Impression Obsession and the fern-leaves are SU. The Merry die cut is also SU.

Thanks for your visit and I hope you have a wonderful day however you choose to spend it. Nanc’

Screen Shot 2016-02-06 at 12.52.06 PMHello Friends,  We are really shaking things up over at Just Us Girls this week.  Not only are we making Shaker cards but we are also adding two new Design team members to our already awesome team.  I am tickled pink about both of them!!  I have been a huge fan of both of these ladies for a long time now and I consider both of them very dear crafting friends. I have never met either of them, but hope to rectify that some day.  I know you all have some of those types of friends too.  Crafty peeps are the best peeps if you ask me! The ladies we are becoming our Judy Woodland of  Judy’s Happy Place  and Bobby Hagen, of Bits & Pieces.  Welcome to JUGS ladies and I am once again thrilled to have you joining us!  We also still have our Guest Designer Steph Castro with us this month too.  So you gotta head on over to JUGS and check out all the exciting news and see all of the fabulous shaker cards too!

My shaker card doesn’t really need any explanation. All products are Stampin Up and my shaker was made with a plastic bag as I have no more acetate.

Have a wonderful day!  Nanc’

Screen Shot 2015-03-14 at 10.42.03 AMHi Friends, Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Trend week and Sue has challenged us, and you for that matter, to make a Shaker card.  I will admit, I think this is the second time I have ever attempted one of these types of cards, I am not sure why they intimidate me so much, because they are not that hard and so much fun to make!  I am also linking my card up to two other challenges.  The Pink Elephant; where they are asking us to use Pastel Colors, and my starting off point was a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  Now head on over to Just Us Girls and play along!  While your there check out what the Design Team has done along with our Guest Designer Kathy.  Remember, if you are chosen as our Chic of the week you could be in the running as a possible GD in the future. Hope to see you there!

Few card details:  Flower stamp is from SU.  The sentiment is from Verve. I used a combo of Washi tape and ribbon underneath the sentiment. The EF is also SU. Inside the shaker I have a mixture of sequins and punched paper flowers in various colors.  Any other questions please just let me know.

I appreciate so much you coming by!  Have a great day! Nanc’

Over at Just Us Girls this week Lisa is shakin’ things up!

Have you ever made a Shaker Card?  I have NOT!

I so enjoyed this challenge and as I told Lisa and the girls earlier,

my first shaker crashed and burned!  I had the bright idea to use

saw dust instead of sand because I didn’t have enough time to

go get any ( yes I know, I live in Florida and didn’t use sand). LOL

The saw dust looked just like fine sand…really!   Anyhoo, The sawdust was so fine and

I didn’t leave enough of a gap between the shaker and the image so my cute little penguin

was camouflaged….you couldn’t even see her.  I tried again and followed the

directions from This Tutorial to a tee…and used glitter instead and it worked like a charm!

FYI…….sawdust doesn’t work for sand!

I love the way this card came together….perseverance is the Key!

The waves were made with my Creative Memories cutting system and

the sun I just eyeballed with a small paper cutter and a little Tim Holtz distress ink!

Coloring was done with colored pencil.

Add a little torn paper for some sand and there you have it!

I am also adding this card to the Case Study Challenge this week.

This fabulous photo is what helped me get the idea for my sun!

Now it’t time to go check out what the other Girls have shakin up!

Have a great day!
