Thinking of You…

Hello, It’s time for our next challenge over at Just Us Girls. It is photo week and Cecile is our wonderful hostess. I drew my inspiration from the colors and the stick things coming out of the block of wood, they reminded me of flowers. Plus, I had a brand new die-cut that I had been itching to use.

Card Details: The cover plate die is Stitched Diamonds from Pink Fresh Studio. The flower die is called Morning Blossom and is from Simon Says Stamps. I tried inking them a bit with Oxide Inks for some dimension. The sentiment is from Gina K and heat embossed. The card didn’t photograph well and looks so much better in person.

I didn’t love the way the first card turned out so I decided to make another one using one of my favorite color combos of Pink and Grey. This one photographed a bit better too.

Along with the other supplies I mentioned we have ; a SU Script EF, Stitched scallop rectangle is from MFT, and the Sympathy greeting is from Sunny Studios- Inside Greetings set.

Have a great day and I hope you head on over to Just Us Girls and join us! Nanc’

You are Amazing

Hello, I am back today and this time I am playing along with the Fusion Challenge. I thought the rainbow plates picture was so cool. The only color from the photo that I didn’t use is purple. I love doing the emboss resist technique and it had been a very long time since I had, and thought this would be a perfect challenge to do it for. It was completely inspired by a card by Jennifer McGuire! and hers is so much more elaborate than mine. She makes a see-through window. You should check it out!

Card Details: The Daisy Background stamp is from Simon Says Stamps, the amazing die-cut is from Verve, and the butterflies are a MS-punch. I used Oxide ink to make my background along with the white embossing powder.

I hope your Memorial Day is spent reflective of gratitude even in the times of uncertainty, sadness, and turmoil that we find ourselves in. I am trying so hard to be upbeat, but it’s so hard when so many are suffering. Hubby and I just got back from a long bike ride as we have no other plans, so I guess I will just have to get inky! Take care, Nanc’

Monthly Mix Challenge-Gina K

Hello, Today I am playing along with the Monthly Mix Challenge over at Gina K Designs where my lovely friend Barb is hostess. The challenge is to use an Image, Die-cut, and Sentiment on your project. Such an easy one!

Do you ever take a card just a tiny bit too far and wish you had listened to your gut when it told you to stop? Well, that is how I feel about this card. Everything was going well till I decided to make a mask of the hydrangea stamp and stamp the text in the background. Two things happened that I am not crazy about. First, I should have cut the white piece out of the middle of the flowers because now it looks weird because it has no text, and two, the color ink I chose for my words was just too dark. I wanted something a bit more subtle. But what’s done is done and you have to move on.

Card Details: Hydrangea-Gina K Designs, sentiment is also Gina K, the leaves EF is from ?, the word background is SSS. I used my Copics as my medium and a very small bit of Colored pencil on the leaves. I came back with a white gel pen for the center of the flowers. Sequins and string and I was done.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! This is not my favorite holiday, so hubby and I are taking our bikes to St. Pete for the day! Should be a great distraction from missing my son!

Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Green and White Birthday

Hello, It’s time for our next topping at Seize the Birthday. JoAnn is our wonderful hostess this time around and she has chosen a color challenge for our topping, and it’s perfect for today which happens to be March 17th-St Patrick’s Day!

Card Details: I had this negative die sitting on my desk for quite some time and am happy to have put it to use. I know my card has quite a bit of black on it, but that is okay as that is one of our neutrals. When I found this green and white DSP in my stash I knew it was going to work out perfectly. The heart die is from SSS, the Birthday die is from MFT. A few silver punches for the center of the flowers and I was done.

Now, I hope you will come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out the fabulous cards by the Design Team and our guest Deepti!

Do something today that brings you joy, Nanc’

Love-Valentine

Hello, Over at the Global Design Project they have a Valentine theme challenge going on. As soon as I saw the graphic with the little envelope, I remembered I had a SSS envelope die I had yet to use and it even comes with a small card die too. The envelope is really cute as the front of it has a heart window in it. That is where I got my little hearts from to splatter around the card. The tiny black ones are a stamp. The sentiments were masked off to fit and are from SU and Verve. A cute and easy card to throw together on this dreary cold Wednesday!

Since the envelope die-cut was NEW and used for the first time I am also linking up with sweet Darnell over at NBUS!

Card Details are above!

I hope you have a wonderful day, Nanc’

Merry Christmas

Hello, Happy Monday! I had some time over the past week to make a couple of cards for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Hop. This is something that is new to me. I heard about it over on their Build Your Stash Holiday Card FB Page. I have linked them both up for you! If you love making Holiday cards, you should check it out, and the hop of course! Did I mention there are prizes to be won! Details about my card are below!

Here is my second card. I put Bermuda Bay on the outside ring!

To this day it is still one of my favorite SU colors!

I am also going to join in over at the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge. This is also a new challenge that you should definitely check out! The sweet ladies- Darlene and Diane started it along with their many other challenges.

Card Details: These colors were suggested by my good friend Carol, and I just love them together. These two wreath die-cuts belong to Carol as well and are from Simon Says Stamps. One is called Ornamental wreath and is sadly no longer available and the other is called Ring Wreath and I can still find it there. You have to have lots of patience if you want to really bring these to life by putting some color behind or on top of the openings. I decided that I would also add some foliage from SU at the top of the wreath in silver and white from the Forever Fern die set. The bow is also from SU (retired) and I like it but wish it was a bit bigger. The greeting is SU as well and heat embossed in silver.

Take care and I hope you have a great week! Nanc’

MOM

Hello, Hope all is well with you and you are enjoying your day! I needed to work on some inventory this afternoon, after hubby and I had lunch at the park and went for our daily walk, and I knew right away when I sat down I was going to create something for this fabulous color combo going on over at The Color Throwdown. I couldn’t wait to get started because I just love pink, and in this challenge they have two shades of pink paired with cream. Those colors just screamed Mother’s Day card to me. This card was fun to put together.

Here is a front shot of the card.

Details: A few days ago I had a SSS order come in with this fun new stencil from Altenew called Rose Bouquet and a great SSS MOM die-cut, along with maybe a few other things. LOL So since these items were used for the first time, I am going to link my card up over at NBUS also. After I inked my base of my leaves I came back with a Q-tip to give the leaves some more realistic definition with the same Antique linen ink. It worked perfectly. The bottom sentiment is from Paper Roses- Mother’s Day Quotes and I just love it. Not sure I should have inked it in black ( and crooked-grr) but it’s a little late now. LOL I finished it off with a ribbon and some Nuvo drops in groups of 3.

I hope if you are celebrating Easter tomorrow you have a truly wonderful day. Take care, Nanc’

Happy Birthday to YOU!

Hello,  Here is the newest topping and card for Seize the Birthday! Colleen has asked us to make the sentiment the focal point of the card.  I am not 100 % in love with my card and I was going to try again, but there was no time in my busy life these days.  I was just sponging away and probably worrying about things when suddenly I realized I made one of the leaves pink and decided to just roll with it.  I promise you if you hop on over to Seize the Birthday, my teammates did a far better job than I.

Before I go, I need to thank Joyce for being such a fabulous guest these past few months.  We have really enjoyed all of your creations and hope you will continue to grace us with your fabulous work in our gallery from time to time!!

Card Details: My new Peony Stencil for SSS and the Sentiment is also SSS and is from the You Matter stamp set.  A bow and some rhinestones to finish it off.

Have a creatively wonderful day, Nanc’
