Have the Best Day Ever

Hello, For today’s card, I was inspired by the fun sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. Since I still had Spellbinders Floating Bunny set out on my desk, I thought I would use her once again on my card. How could I not, she is just so cute! I paired her with some bold papers and from Pink and Main and an older Spellbinders set called Ornamental Floral Card Creator for my flower. The stem was made with the rope swing from the floating bunny set and the leaves are from my bits and boxes, but I know they are Spellbinders too. The greeting is also from Spellbinders. I used some chalk to rosy up her cheeks and a few sequins to finish it off.

I have everything I could find a link for, linked below. This card was finished off with a Birthday greeting inside and is already on its way to a friend.

A Whole Llama Love

Hello, I have had a very busy week and today I am back with another card and this one just makes me smile every time I look at it. Not long ago, I made a pig card very similar to this one using the same Friendly Faces dies from MFT but this time I am using Mr. Llama. Isn’t he cute?

I made him with two challenges in mind. The sketch over at Freshly Made and the Colors over at The Color Throwdown. I hope it’s okay that I moved my sentiment to the bottom of the sketch as I just couldn’t cover up those cute faces.

Card Details: MFT-Friendy Faces, the sentiment is from the set Punny Farm. The stitched heart die is from MFT. The long stripped dies are from Pink and Main.

Thanks for coming by and I am sending you a Whole Llama Love for all your visits and sweet messages too, Nanc’

I’m too old…

Hello, I am back again today with one more Halloween card and using the darling ghosts once again from Miss Inks Stamps. This time I made my ghosts a tad more realistic using vellum. I stamped the ghost in black Versafine and heat embossed them with clear powder. All stamped images were fussy cut as this set does not have any dies. This card all started with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and at least 3 things from Festive Friday. I chose Purple, Heat Embossed, die cut, and Balloon.

I have had this Halloween embossed piece of black cardstock for probably ten years and have finally put it on a card base. I don’t know whose it is as I got it from a friend, it is covered with Halloween words. I cut off the bottom so I could make the stripes for the Sketch and put my sentiment in the middle.

The card doesn’t photograph that well and looks better in person.

Choose at least 3: I chose Purple, Heat Embossed, die-cut, and Balloon.

Card Details: Halloween EF is from ?, all the stamps are from Miss Ink Stamps-Boo Sheet. The stars are dies from a set called Magical Unicorn from Your Next Stamp. I colored with Copics and then used glossy accents on the boo, pumpkin, and lollipop. The dots are made from a berries die from Spellbinders- Noel set. I like the size of them and the card was missing something and I think the pop of orange helped.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day and a better weekend ahead! Nanc’

Holey Sheet…

Hello, I hope you are having a good week! Today I am ignoring the fact that it’s 90+ degrees outside and I am jumping into Fall a bit with a Halloween card. I saw the sketch by Anne Marie over at The Paper Players and wanted to make sure to play along. I think Teal ghosts should be a thing, what about you? Too over the top?

Card Details: Cloud stencil is MFT. I used Oxide Inks for the background. Copics and Prismas to color my ghosts. The stamp set is one of my favs from Miss Ink Stamps called Boo Sheet. The stars are made from a Verve border die.

I hope however you spend your day it has a bit of creativity thrown in! Take care, Nanc’

Smile

Hello, the entire time I was making this card today the lyrics of Smile kept playing over and over in my head. I am back with another card using the new Small Die of the MonthDay at the Beach from Spellbinders along with the surfboard die, which is also from Spellbinders and can be found in the set Large Die of the MonthTruckin Through the Seasons.

To jump-start my card today I went in search of a sketch and a color challenge. So I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and The Color Throwdown.

A Few Details: I had to shrink the beach towel down to get it to fit on my middle panel. I ripped some white paper so I could make the beach foam. The beach ball didn’t make it on the card as I just couldn’t make it look right.

Small Die of the Month

Truckin Through the Seasons

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you…If you just smile

You’re welcome…now you can sing all day too. 🙂

I hope however you chose to spend your day there were moments where you could just smile.

Take care, Nanc’

Sending Sunshine

I am back again today with another card but this time it’s for the fun square card sketch by Cecile over at Freshly Made Sketches. My plans changed today and I had some unexpected time on my hands, to my delight. I just adore this sandcastle set from MFT so I got it out once again. Plus, if you know me by now you know I love making my own backgrounds. I hope it’s okay that my beach items are not under the square like in the sketch.

I made my background using the MFT Watercolor Wash stencil. To see a picture of how it was done previously on another card you can see my post…HERE!

Card Details: MFT- Sandcastle Builder Die, Shady Palms Dies, Watercolor Wash Rectangle Stencil, Oxide Inks, Sentiment-MFT Life’s a Beach

I hope you are doing something today that brings you JOY, I just told the hubby that I was a much better housekeeper and cook before I started this fabulous hobby. Luckily he responded, life’s too short to worry about such things. YAY! Nanc’

Smile

Hello, I had a chance yesterday afternoon to play in the studio for just me! No DT commitments or chores to be done and it felt so good. I hope to do more of this in the near future as we all need a little “me time” in our lives. When I decided I wanted to do some coloring I reached for my favorite dragon stamp from MFT. Next, I decided to go check out MFT’s Color Challenge and or Sketch Challenge to see if they would spark some creativity and they certainly did the trick. So I will be entering my card in both of their challenges.

Here is a close-up of Mr. Dragon. He just makes me smile. I also realized while writing up this post that I have one extra horizontal layer on my sketch and I hope it’s okay.

Card Details: MFT products- Dragon, Both Cloud dies, and the Smile die. I used Copics and a tiny bit of Prismas for my medium. The DSP is from SU. I added a few star sequins and ran my small clouds through a SU snowflake EF for some added texture. I pieced two pieces of cardstock together to make my greeting. The dragon and small clouds have multiple layers for some depth.

I certainly enjoyed both of these challenges! Take care and I hope whatever you do this weekend it will bring you a bit of JOY. Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, I have a quick and simple card for you today where the embossing folder and dies do all the work. I am playing along with the girls over at Freshly Made Sketches. Nobody does CAS like Cecile and she was the brains behind this fun sketch. Now that I am finished with the card I thought of a few other things I could have done. So perhaps I will be back before it closes with another entry.

Card Details: Most the products on this card are new to me thanks to the generosity of a fellow card maker! The dies are from Spellbinders and the 3D embossing folder is just gorgeous and from Sizzix called Bohemian Botanicals, and the sentiment is Verve.

Have a wonderful creative day, Nanc’

Sketch Challenge at TPP

Hello there! I am back again today with the next great challenge over at The Paper Players. I enjoy Sketch week nearly as much as Color Week, because when designing your card the layout is done for you, and it makes things move along a bit faster… in my opinion that is. How do you feel about Sketch challenges? Do you like them? If I had more time on my hands I would start another card challenge site and the theme would be sketches. Hmmmm…maybe? 😉 Just kidding….I think. LOL

Card Details: I had such a great job playing along with my new MFT Lily dies. Of course, I had to get out that great DSP from SU that I just adore and work it in my design. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I used a bit of greenery from Stampin Up too. It is from the Forever Fern die set. I made the victorian scalloped edging with my Fiskars cutter. I use to use it ALL the time and it was kinda my signature piece on my cards and I kinda got away from it. Of course, more Honey Bee Dew Drops.

I will also be linking my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for their Birthday Challenge.

I have quite a few cards coming in future posts using these Lilies. Stay tuned.

Hello…just a little something

Hello, I hope this post finds you well! Today over at The Paper Players it’s time for Sketch Week. I love sketches…do you? I feel they make the design come together so much faster as the template is made for you. Joanne has a fun one for us today! Please don’t look too closely at my card as I did a terrible job inking the sky and grass. I didn’t have the stamp set to make a mask with, so I was inking around the image as carefully as I could. I had borrowed this stamp from a friend and only stamped a few, and I didn’t want to waste one of these cute little bears on a mask that was going to get all inky.

Card Details: Bear is from Ellen Hutson, Flowers- Colossal Con-flowers in the background are from Gina K. (also given to me from a friend). The greeting is a mix of Gina K. (a little something) and (Hello) is Papertrey Ink. The sky -MFT stencil, the grass is also an old MFT die that I used to make a stencil. The tag, flowers, and rectangle dies are all MFT. The butterfly is a MS punch.

Come see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team did with this challenge, you truly will be inspired!
