I Miss You Like Crazy…

I made this card this afternoon after I completed the usual Saturday chores.  Love when you get and idea and things come together!  I am going to enter it into three different challenges.  First, the sketch challenge over at iSpy Sketches and Secondly, the color challenge over at CR84FN. And Last its for the Any Hero Challenge over at OWH.  If you are not familiar with OWH…go check it out!  It’s an amazing way to say Thanks to the Troops!!  Let me tell you a little bit about how it came together.  Once I picked out the DP (Creative Memories) and the colored card stock which is a mix of CM, SU and Bazzil I took my star stamp from SU and stamped on the tan card stock.  Then I added some distressing with SU Chocolate Ink. Used my Cricut to cut out most of my stars along with a SU scalloped punch. Made the ribbons with scissors and the sentiment is from Verve and is called Heartfelt Phrases. The tag die cut is from My Favorite Things.

Finished it off with a button and some twine and Wolaaaa!

Hope you have a great Sunday…It’s time to watch some Football…GO FSU!!!!

Hello there friends, Hope you are having a good week!  I have myself my first cold of the school year!  Love when the kids share everything…lol!  Today’s card was inspired by the sketch challenge over at ispy Sketches.

I just love playing along with these wonderfully talented ladies!

I just got some great new Die-namics over at My Favorite Things and on this card I got to use my new Double Scallop Border along with my Scalloped Ovals that I have had forever.

The DP was La Creme by DCVW along with some solid Bazzil and GKD card stock.

Finish it off with some Cricut embellishments, gems and flowers made with a MS punch.

Happy Birthday…

Good evening friends,  Today I have for you a Birthday Card I made with 3 different challenges in mind.

1. Casual Fridays has asked us to incorporate embossing in our creation!  What a great challenge!

2. Is this wonderful Color Palette from The Play Date Cafe: Peach, Navy Blue and Stone! and

3. Is this great sketch to tie it all together from one of my favorite sketch challenges ispy Sketches!

I struggled with this card the other night so I walked away from it.  I went back to it when I got home from work today, and it all fell into place!  Love when that happens!

Supplies that I used to tie it all together.  Dots embossing folder along with a cute set of  embossing folders called Celebration.  They are 2 inches so cute!

Scrap Design paper that I have had for at least 10 years. The rest of the cardstock is either Gina K and or SU.

Sentiment is SU and is called Happy Thoughts, my cupcake is from Michaels.

Finish it off with: ribbon, buttons and stickles and some paper piecing!

Thanks so much for ALL your kind words lately…I so appreciate it!

Have a good night!

Before Time runs out…

I have a quick post this morning before work and before time has run out on the Freshly Made Sketches of the week.  The colors were chosen by the ladies over at the Dynamic Duos….Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze.  If you don’t have the exact colors it’s okay …just come close!   The images and sentiment are from Stamp TV and the stamp Set is called Timeless Treasures and it’s one of  the first Stamp Sets I ever purchased.  I love it!   I used some Prisma colored pencils to give some color to the alarm Clock.

Be back in a day or two with a preview for a Blog Hop I will be taking part in real soon!

Celebrate

Happy Labor Day,  If you happened to have the day off like me, I hope you enjoyed yourself !  I went shopping and that’s always a good time to me! 🙂  Today’s post is for the Clean and Simple #205 sketch.  I saw this layout and knew it was one I wanted to tackle because it was so unique!  I masked off my cardstock before I stamped my script image so that I could put it on a slant.  This ribbon I have had for a long time from Michael’s dollar bin.  You can never go wrong with flower punches to add that female touch! The cardstock is from Stampin Up.

Enjoy the rest of your day,

Freshly Made Sketch #50

Happy Sunday Friends,  Today I had the chance to slip away to my studio and make this card just in time for Freshly Made’s Sketch of the week.  I wish I could tell you exactly where I got the sentiment from, but I got it in a grab bag at a Stampin Expo this past Feb…. sorry!  The flower image however, is called Plain Jane and I just got it the other day and it’s from Verve.  I could spend my entire paycheck on the Verve site!  Oh my word!  Talk about I candy!  The paper is from Stampin Up and I have had it for quite sometime and the leaves and curly swirl I made with my cricut and ran them through my cuttlebug to get the texture.  Add a couple black gems and a border with my MS punch and you have it!   I don’t know if you can tell, but I do a lot of paper piecing with my cards and cut lots of strips of paper and adhere them back together to make the colors flow throughout the card.  Hope that makes sense. :/

Have a great Monday, and if you are fortunate enough to have the day off like me… ENJOY!

Gotta Love Purple!

If you are a fan of Monochromatic cards and a Great sketch well then you have come to the right place today!   The card was designed for the color challenge over at the Dynamic Duos this week.  The two colors they chose were Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush.  These colors are a starting point and a guideline and as long as your colors are close enough the ladies are fine with that!  This card also goes along with the sketch of the week over at Unscripted Sketches.  I hope it’s okay the I shifted the square over a little bit!!!  I am so glad I found this sketch blog!!!  The butterfly stamp is one of my favorites from Stamp TV and is called Take Flight, and the sentiment I have had forever and who knows where it came from! :0  The DP is from Creative Memories when I use to be a consultant.

The photo isn’t perfect, but when you look at the card from straight on, I have managed to line up the sentiments almost perfect!  I just guessed!  I was really lucky!  I like the look of this with the raised panel with pop dots and have been meaning to try it for some time now!

Hope you enjoyed it!  Have a great day or evening which ever the case,

Can’t get enough…

Can’t get enough of turquoise and sand so last night after dinner out with the hubby I thought I would make another card.  So along with the color challenge over at CR84FN, the Photo challenge over at Stamp TV, the make your won embellishments challenge over at The Pink Elephant….I decided I needed a sketch challenge to tie it all together and I chose Freshly Made #49.  I used more of my cricut for the flowers and swirls, that gorgeous DP that I have had for an eternity, some hemp and the center of my flowers were made with a MS punch.

Thanks for stopping by, I so love when you do!  Guess I better get back to some housework!

The Happiest of Birthdays

Well I survived the first day of school with the kidos!  Although, I must say I am a little sore because I feel like I walked about 5 miles, but I am still in one piece!  Those kids just warm my heart!   So, the card I have for you today is for 3 different challenges.  The first is for the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.   Those colors look amazing together and as soon as I saw them I knew I had just the paper for it!  The fabulous sketch is from ispy.  And the challenge over at the The Paper Players is to incorporate paper piecing…which I just love to do!  My photo came out a little more red…but the actual DP has more of the orange tones.  The clouds were drawn and cut out with scissors and embossed with my cuttlebug.  The balloon stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels.  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Thanks for stopping by…I just love when you do!  Have a great day!

Missing in action!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts!  As you may or may not have figured out, I went back to work this week and to say that I came home exhausted would be an understatement.  I never knew my thigh muscles could hurt so bad!  It’s time to get in shape!  Now, I need to figure out how to manage work, being creative, and my blog posting again!  The kids start back tomorrow…so wish me luck!  Now, onto the real reason you stopped by!  This card was based on the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and the color scheme that was chosen for me is from Flourishes color challenge.  Yesterday I went over to Michael’s and picked up a new embossing folder called Juli’s Garden that now comes with a coordinating border.  Isn’t that cool!  So that’s the border you see on the side of my card!  Couldn’t stop there had to use my dots too!   The leaves and the swirls were made with my cricut.

Have a great start to the work week…and thanks for your patience since I was MIA!
