Wild Card Week- Holiday Tags

Hello, It’s the 5th Saturday of the month and that means it’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls. I love WCW! Carol Mc is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen Holiday Tags for us and hopefully you too! I was thrilled to see this challenge coming as it gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new Pink and Main darling snowman stamps that have been patiently waiting for me on my desk. I don’t make shakers very often but totally enjoyed making these. In hind-sight, I wish I would have put both images on the side of the shaker. The one cute snowman with his scarf and beanie hides the rolling hill and all the shaky good stuff.

A Few Tag Details: First, I ink-blended the background in Oxide Inks-Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky, and Wilted Violet. Next, I built the shaker elements using leftover packaging for my window, inside I have a fun mix from Hobby Lobby that has snowflakes in it. I then included some fine white glitter. I colored my images with Copics and a bit of Prisma colored pencils. Then I assembled the tag using strips of Fun Foam for my barrier.

Supplies: Pink and Main; Snow Sweet Stamps and Large Sentiment Strip dies, MFT-Tag dies, Lawn Fawn-stitched Hills. Some ribbon, twine, and silver dots finished it off nicely.

I am going to link these tags up over at Simon Says Stamps where it’s Anything Goes and featuring Pink and Main products.

I am also linking up with Addicted to Stamps and More for the Make Your Mark Challenge.

Before I go, I want to take a minute and thank Lynne for being a wonderful guest this past month! We have certainly enjoyed all your work. Now, come on over to JUGS and join us! Take care, Nanc’

Mini Slimline

Hello, Elizabeth is our fabulous hostess this week at Just Us Girls and she has picked the PERFECT Trend for us. Mini Slimline cards. I am finally starting to get on board with this size and really loving it. It is very common for me to be way behind on the latest trends and I am good with that. Someone has to be the caboose. LOL.

I am linking up over at Tic Tac Toe once again because I like this board so much and this time I chose the row Holiday, Silver, and Patterned Paper.

I love Happy Little Stampers so I am joining in the Christmas Challenge this time.

Card Details: NOEL is from Spellbinders. The snowman is a fav of mine from MFT. The decorative edge was made with my Fiskers Victorian blade paper cutter.

Now, Hop on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the Design Team and our guest Rachel have done! So many fabulous cards!

Take care, Nanc’

Snowman Tag…

TCC #2

The ” Style” I am going for is a Shabby-Vintage type of feel for this tag.

Same as last time….oops!  That was completely accidental. LOL

The Card Concept is also pairing up with:

Tracey McNeely and her 25 days of Christmas Tags!

Tracey's Tag Badge

Tracey is as sweet as she is talented!!

For this challenge The Card Concept is looking for:

1.) A TAG or a CARD with a tag on it
2.) Snowmen, snow or any other “wintery” theme!

Now for my Tag Details:  The cute stamp set is from Gina K Designs and is called Snow One Like You.  The paper pack is from My Mind’s Eye. I paper pieced his hat and scarf and

took colored pencils to the snow and to the snowman to help with the aged look.  The light colored paper is a faint graph paper which I thought looked neat and is also under the sentiment and bordering the top too. I love using my Fiskars victorian border to edge my work…it seems to be a signature of mine.  Punches, candy dots and twine about wraps it up.

I had a great time making this tag and it was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon and one of my days of from school!

If you have never played along with The Card Concept here are some of the details!  I love the creative idea behind this blog!

Choose one of the design team “Styles” to create your card. Click HERE for the different styles summary. Explain in your post which style you used. Link up your blog post.  Last but not least, comment on the card ahead of you and behind you in the linky. It’s really that simple!

Now, Please come on over and join us at The Card Concept…I would love it if you would!  You should see what the DT did this week!  While your at it go check out Tracey’s site too!  You’ll be glad you did…There are prizes involved!!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving, I am hosting this year!  Nanc’

Traditions

I realize Christmas is over, but I was messing with my settings on my blog today to get my photos to be a appropriate size and needed to post to see if it worked.  This adorable ornament was a gift from my son to my hubby and myself this Christmas.  The cool thing about him is that Tyler bought him in London last Christmas and saved it to give to us this year.  It has become our family tradition to buy an ornament for each other, that might not sound that special to you, but it means more to us than you realize. After Christmas each one of our ornaments gets put in a special box and labeled from whom and to whom and what year it was received.   If we ever have the need to pack the house for a hurricane it is on the top of the evacuation list of things to grab!  NOT KIDDING!!

Sorry for the long post just wanted to share this tradition and hope to inspire someone else to start a family tradition too!

Enjoy the rest of your Holiday,
