Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Who doesn’t love Sunflowers?

Happy Monday….LOL!

Today I am thrilled to share with you a card I was dabbling with on and off

all weekend.  Yes, it took me most of the weekend to finally get it to come

together the way I had envisioned.  LOL

The creative process began when I saw this week’s Dynamic Duos colors along with

a gorgeous Inspiration Photo….over at Curtain Call (I love sunflowers )…and

this week’s Muse card over at Case Study.

Let me show you the card and then…. “I have some explaining to do!”

( read that in a Ricky Ricardo voice from Lucy) LOL

When it comes to the Dynamic Duos…I sure hope it’s okay that I added brown in my card…

I noticed some of the Design Team had done the same. (Fingers crossed)

For Curtain Call….I am right on target my card screams inspiration from the photo!

The only thing missing is some burlap!  Need some of that!

Last, but not least….for the Case Study Muse card….I used the obvious flower as my inspiration and the fence mimics the

vertical stripes that are in the sample…I realize mine aren’t bright and bold…but I hope it will suffice!

Also, the vellum piece I replaced it with the 2 cross pieces on my fence.

Now, here are a few details of how I made my card!

The background woodgrain fence is a stamp from Stampabilites.

The sunflower is a stamp I have had for years that I got at a Garage sale….LOVE it!

I used my Spectrum Noir pens to color my flowers and then fussy cut them…don’t look to close!

Finally, that cool grass…is a die cut I got from Impression Obsession….Isn’t it the coolest!

Added the hemp and some distressing and Wahla!

Thanks for sticking with me, this was a long post, I so appreciate it!!!

Have a fantastic day!

A Different Sketch…

Second Post for the day so…..

If you are looking for CAS on Sunday…Please Scroll Down

As soon as I laid eyes on this sketch over at CAS(E) this week, I knew I wanted to play along.

The first thing that came to mind is this great tree stamp that I have

that I haven’t used in quite a while from Verve.

Then I went looking for a color challenge, and I didn’t have to go far.

I went right to my reliable Dynamic Duos, and then the creativity began.

Hosting @ Just Us Girls and More…

I am thrilled to be your HOSTESS this week for my first hosting job as part

of the Design team at Just Us Girls.

When I realized my first challenge was going to be a photo challenge,

I immediately thought of pink and black (my favs) and hopped on over to google images.

After just a couple of seconds, I found these two photos that I knew would be perfect!

I picked two images so that you might have a few choices.

You may either get inspirations from the color pallet and take that route,

reproduce some flowers like I have done,

or you may be intrigued by the damask pattern on the purse.

 You decide!

Now the details:  I used my spectrum Noir pens and colored the BACK of my flowers

after I heat embossed them on Vellum with white embossing powder.

LOVE this look!

I first saw this technique over at Driven to Ink blog….a few years ago.

Over at the Pink Elephant that is the challenge this week… to “Lift” or “Case” a card or technique.

So I chose the Technique of Embossing and Coloring on Vellum!

So, I will also be linking this card to their challenge as well as

over at Addicted to CAS.

My second entry!

I’m THRILLED to have hosted the fun with Just Us Girls, this week…

Can’t wait to see what you link up!

FM’s 100…let’s Celebrate!

The Friday Mashup is Celebrating it’s 100th challenge and asked us

this week to pick one of our past favs to play along with.

I chose FM97… to get out those markers and add some texture!

I am new to coloring so as you look at my card….keep that in mind. 🙂

I love my new Spectrum Noir pens and when I saw this challenge

I knew it was time to do some practicing.

I have a long way to go though!

Good Friends…

I am back again today with a card that I made for a good friend of mine.

She is someone that I met in this wonderful world of the internet and we first got to talking with each other over at Stamp TV.

We soon realized that we lived within about 45 minutes of one another and decided since we got along so well and had the same love of stamping that we

should meet in person.  That worked out fabulously well and we have been friends ever since!

Why am I telling you my life story ?

Well, a few weeks ago she gave me some….. (Okay A Lot) of new Spectrum Noir markers and some other fabulous goodies,

and the card I have for you today is the one I made for her as a Thank You!

And yes, I colored it with my NEW pens!!

I don’t thing I will ever color as well as my friend Sue,

but I can honestly say I hope we stay friends forever!

Thanks my Friend!

I am also linking this card up on the Sketch challenge over at Deconstructed Sketch #87!

They always have the best sketches!

And this new site ( to me anyways) I have really come to like and it’s called Addicted to Stamps and More!
