Black and White and One more Color.

Hello Friends, It’s the middle of March (Yikes) or time for March Madness, according to hubster, and also time for another challenge at Seize the Birthday.  Today’s topping is Black and White and ONE more color.  I chose to use Kraft as my other color, as I was in need of a Masculine 60th Birthday card for my Brother-in-law.  I am really enjoying this new SU set- Lift Me Up, as you might have noticed! The card that inspired me is HERE!  The team and I would love for you to join us at STB for this fun challenge and you must come on over and see what the team and our guest Anita selected as their pop of color!  Hope to see you there!

Spring Break starts today for me at 3:30!  Yipeeeeeee!  Nanc’

Stencils @ JUGS!

Hello Friends, Maria over at Just Us Girls has a very easy word for us this week.  The word is Stencils. I don’t know about you, but I have a slew of them and am always looking to buy more.  This sun beam stencil I have used on my card today is a must have if you ask me!  Mine happens to be from My Favorite Things however, there are many different variations of them out there. You should try and get one too. I decided to ink mine up on watercolor paper. The rest of my card was made with SU’s new set Lift Me Up.  I just adore this hot air balloon die. What is so cool about this stamp and die cut set is that it has so many pieces. Just take a look at it below! I love the fact that the background of the ballon can be made with so many different shades of paper and cut out individually.  I did just that on my card above.  Thanks for coming by today and checking in with me!  It makes my day when you visit.  Please come by and visit Just Us Girls this week and see what my talented team and guest Nancy have done, and while you are there….join us!  I have a good stampin’ friend that is battling bone cancer and I hope this cheers her up a bit.

Take care, Nanc’

Love From Me Digi

dsc_0101

mojo483Hello Friends,  I have been eyeing this sketch over at Mojo Monday and  finally found sometime to play along.  In addition, Julee Tilman from Verve has so graciously once again created a FREE digi set for us to use! You can find it HERE!  It’s till available for a few more days, so you must go and get it before it’s to late!  She also has a Love From Me challenge and giveaway going on with her digi set over at the Verve BlogI fell in love with the sentiment that I used on both of my cards instantly! It made a perfect Valentine for my hubby, since he is indeed my best friend.  I just have to decide which one I am going to give to him, probably the one with the paintbrush.  I combined her free set with some Stampin Up paper and oval and circle stitched dies, a MFT stitched heart die and scalloped border die, my favorite Verve heart border die, and two stamp sets called Positive Strokes and I Heart Art from Paper Smooches.  I cut two heart border dies one back and one white for the second card and glued back in the white hearts so as not to see all the paper and such behind the openings. I paper pieced the paintbrush.

I sure hope you will swing on by the blogs that I have linked up for you and take advantage of Julee’s kindness. Thanks so very much Julee, I will be using the digi again soon!  Take care, Nanc’

Merry Monday

dsc_0017

231Hello Friends,  I have been eyeing the challenge over at Merry Monday, where my friend Colleen is hosting, and I nearly missed the deadline. I bought this adorable reindeer stamp at Michaels and when I saw that her challenge was to incorporate a reindeer on your Christmas card, I knew I would finally get a chance to use him. Plus it’s never to early to start on those Christmas cards…now is it?  I actually colored him first with colored pencils and then decided to run him through the SU snowflake embossing folder and it worked out perfectly. I managed to avoid embossing the cute reindeer as on the top of the EF the snowflakes are more sporadic.  Then I decided to frame him in with my new Scalloped stitched die from MFT and added a double snowbank as well.  The sentiment is from SU and the snowflake punch is Martha Stewart. I used glossy accents and glitter on my snowflakes as well.

I hope you enjoy your day, however you wish to spend it. Nanc’

Seize the Birthday and a trip to MFT!

Hello Friends,  I trust you had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready like me to get back to creating again!  Not that I didn’t make any cards over the Holidays, as I did, but now it’t time to gat back to my Challenge blogs and somewhat of a routine again.  We all do better with routines don’t you think?  I think you spend less money that way. Speaking of Spending Money!  Guess who finally made it to My Favorite Things Store yesterday!  Yes me!  I know you’re a bit jealous and you should be!  WOW!  All that wonderful MFT right at your fingertips! It was so much fun and a bit overwhelming.  It would have been easier to say…let me have one of each please! LOL My hubby was a trooper, he was taking pics with his phone of all the cards he liked, and then helped me narrow down my selections.  His choices made sense! The store is about 2 hours and 20 minutes from our home, but Hubby and I were already in Mount Dora for a few days of fun and R and R, and when I mentioned it was only 11 miles down the road, he said we were to close not to stop. I am a lucky gal!

It’s a beautiful store!

STB Anything GoesOkay, enough of me bragging….right? It’s time for our first challenge of 2017 over at Seize the Birthday and it just so happens to be time for NO Topping!  So that leaves it wide open for you to get those creative juices flowing again.  Just remember it has to be a Birthday card.  We are also welcoming a new Surprise Party Guest for the next tow months.  It happens to be Rahmat.  She has been such a constant supporter of STB and it was past time for me to invite her to be our Surprise Guest.  Welcome Rahmat…we are so glad to have you joining us!  Here is my card.

I was a bit rushed yesterday when we got home to get everything done and ready to return to work tomorrow so this photo doesn’t quite do this card justice.  It’s much sparklier and pretty in person.  It just so happens to be made with mostly MFT supplies, but not the ones I got yesterday. The stamp and die set is called Bold Blooms. I have been a Very, Very bad girl this month when it comes to spending! What can I say!  It’s all the discounts they have been offering! LOL The only 2 things that are not MFT is the stitched circle, that is from Stampin Up, and the sentiment I have had forever.

Sorry this post is so long, but I had a lot to say!  It’s been bottled up to long. LOL  Please, come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us!  My teammates and Guest have some awesome cards to kick off the NEW YEAR!  Happy creating! Nanc’

Presents

dsc_0304

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  Let’s get right to it shall we!  It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and our topping for the next couple of weeks is Presents. I’m just going to come out and say that I am not a fan of this card, but we can’t love them all now can we?  I think the best part about it is the Happy that I made with Washi Tape. The present looks like an after thought, even though the present was stamped and colored first. The cool star borders are from Verve and the star stitched dies are MFT.  The present stamp is from who knows where…. something I have had for eons.

Now come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us!  I know for sure you can do a better job than I did with this one.  My talented team and guest designer Sherrie sure did!  Speaking of Sherrie!  I would like to give her a HUGE thanks for being such a fabulous Surprise Party Guest the past two months and hope to see you in our gallery from time to time!

See you at STB!  Nanc’

Verve’s Novemeber Inspiration Photo

dsc_0340

dsc_0339

nov16dihgraphicHello Friends,  The three cards that you see above were inspired by the awesome photo over at the Verve November Inspiration Challenge.  Julee has given us the liberties to take the challenge and run with it. You can use the tress, the colors, or whatever you choose to inspire you. I pulled out the great Winter Tree stamp from Verve that I thought matched the photo perfectly, and then the grey/white vintage DP that you see in the background, and then this is the color palette I ended up with. Totally different, but I think I like it. All the greetings are from Verve-Pinecone Christmas and Holly Jolly Christmas (retired I do believe). The snowy hills are a die from Lawn Fawn.  The snow EF is from Stampin UP. I also splattered some white paint on my trees for a snowy effect.  These cards look better in person…they are brighter than they appear.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and can squeeze in sometime to be creative,  Nanc’

HUGS!

dsc_0308

screen-shot-2016-10-01-at-7-47-03-pmHello Friends,  It’s Saturday and time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls.  Bobby is our hostess and she has asked us to incorporate Metallics on our cards and or projects.  I didn’t use as much metallics on my card as the rest of the team did, but I did use a glossy gold card stock to cut out my HUGS!  The heart that little pooh has on his chest was punched from the same paper, but it doesn’t show up well in the photo. Isn’t Mr. Pooh Bear super cute?  I saw him over at Pinterest of course and fell smitten for him right away.  I made him using a few different SU punches.  I used the owl punch and the build a blossom punch.  The arms I had to free hand. I gave him some rosy cheeks with colored pencil. The hugs die is from Lawn Fawn.

So break out your metallic papers, or maybe some embossing powder, or even some gold or silver Stickles and join us! Who knows, you might even be chosen as our Chic of the Week.  Hope to see you in our gallery!  Nanc’
