Happy Valentine’s Day

I have a card today that was made for the challenge over at The Card Concept. I fell in love with the photo and I had a little bit of time today to pull something together. Unfortunately, Valentine’s Day snuck up on me a bit and I didn’t get as many cards made as I would have liked.

Card Details: The flower pot and stems are from a Garden Set from MFT, and the heart flowers are an Owl punch from Stampin Up. The sentiment is also from SU. The white hearts on the pots are a die as well, but I don’t know whose it is. I used a bit of Copics and some Colored pencils to give my flower pots some interest. I wish I would have taken the time to do the stems and hearts as well.

I hope you have a great rest of your weekend and happy crafting, Nanc’

With Sympathy

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for Color Week at Just Us Girls. Lisa E is our wonderful hostess and she has a lovely color trio for us, and hopefully you. The colors are; Kraft, Pink, and White. We also have a brand new guest joining us that just so happens to be a friend of mine and fellow DT member from Color Hues… Karen Walker! Welcome Karen, I am so glad you will be with us all month long.

Card Details: All products are from Stampin Up and long since retired, sorry about that. I just adore those pink and kraft leave stamps, as they stamp so well and crisp. I used my old Fiskers cutter to make the Victorian edge.

You must run on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the fabulous Design Team did with these colors.

Take care, Nanc’

Love You to Pieces

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls. Sue is our hostess and she has chosen the word Heart for us for Word Week. I do enjoy making Valentine’s cards so this was an easy one for me this week. I enjoyed it so much, I made two!

A Few Card Details: The backgrounds were made with Kitsch Flamingo Oxide Ink and a Stencil from Honey Bee Stamps. The puzzle piece stamps are retired from Stampin Up. The Stitched Heart Dies are from MFT, the Stitched Square is from SU. The tiny hearts are either made from small dies or punches. Pop dots for height and some twine.

I am linking one of my cards up over at Time Out where the word is Romantic.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope if you find some time to be creative this week, you will consider playing along with us at Just Us Girls, we would love to have you!

Happy crafting, Nanc’

Navy and Cream

Hello, Over at Color Hues we have our next challenge starting and this one will be running the entire month of December. Karen is our wonderful hostess and she picked a beautiful color pairing. The team and our guest Ina hit it out of the park once again.

I loved the color combo so much that I made two cards.

I have a lot of stress and sadness going on in my personal life right now so I am going to keep this short. If you have any questions about my card, just let me know. I hope you will join us this month at Color Hues as we would love to have you.

Take care, Nanc’

Happy Birthday-Card Concept

Hello, I have been eyeing the gorgeous Fall photo over at The Card Concept for the past week or so and I finally had some time yesterday afternoon to play along. I was drawn to the fireplace lines and the fall leaves of course.

Card Details: First, I thought about making bricks or using a stencil to mimic the fireplace but I took a different direction entirely. I decided to just make stripes across the background using strips of the same cream cardstock, almost like ship-lap. Next, I sponged some paper using various tones of Oxide inks to make my leaves. You all probably know by now that this old retired SU set is my all-time favorite when it comes to fall. The leaves are just amazing. I also used other various leaves that are also from SU and retired, I am sorry to say. The sentiment is from Avery Elle and is heat embossed in gold. I made my own embellishments with sparkly paper and a holly die from Spellbinders.

I hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative! Take care, Nanc’

Color Week at Just Us Girls

Hello, It’s the weekend so that means it is time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls. It happens to be Color Week and the lovely Carol Mayne is our hostess and has chosen a perfect Christmas trio for us. Of course when I saw this challenge coming up I went with the obvious Christmas card. The set I used is one of my all-time favorites from Stampin Up. I am afraid it is long retired but I will never stop using it. It is called Delicate Ornaments Thinlits.

Card Details: Delicate Ornament Thinlits- Stampin UP, Snowflakes are Spellbinders in the Noel set, the tiny green pieces of fern are part of the tree in the set Truckin Through the Holidays from Spellbinders. The Embossed background is a cover plate from Pink Fresh Studio called Sparkling Diamonds. The red bow is from Paper Smooches. The Stitched Scalloped Rectangle is MFT. I used two white circles behind my ornament to give it some depth and stability. I decided to leave the sentiment for the inside.

I hope you will come on over to Just Us Girls and check out my fabulous teammates cards and find some time to join us.

Take care, Nanc’

Celebrate the Season

It is the middle of the month and time for the next Hues of color at Color Hues. Julie B is our fabulous hostess and she has the most perfect color pairing for us and hopefully you! The colors are Scarlet and Green! As soon as I saw this color combo coming up I knew instantly what I was going to do. For my card, I am channeling Yana Smakula’s fabulous style and this time I am using her grid technique. ( I have it linked up for you.) Last year I bought these great dies from Tim Holtz and Sizzix called Christmas Mini’s and I knew they would work perfectly for this technique. The sentiments are old and retired from Stampin Up.

I am delighted you stopped by and I hope you will pop on over to Color Hues and check out my fabulous teammate’s cards! I know you will be inspired. Take care and happy crafting! Nanc’

Let’s Celebrate

Hello, I am back today with another card using Spellbinder’s new release called Floral Reflection. Today I have used the Sealed Wildflowers along with some Fluted Rectangles to make my opening. When I was preparing to make my card and already knew what the layout was going to be, I went looking for a color combination that was a little bit more daring and unusual, and let me say I think this color combo is just that. Then the copper-colored sparkly paper really made this card come to life.

Affiliate Links Below:

Floral Reflection Collection

Sealed Wildflowers

Many Birthdays– Sentiment

Fluted Rectangles

Spellbinders 6

Noel Etched Dies

Card Details: I cut out my rectangle opening and then decided to line it with strips of copper paper. I cut the maroon cardstock a bit short on purpose and used my old Fiskers Victorian edge cutter to make the decorative bottom at the base of the card. I die-cut all my stems and flowers and tucked them inside the opening. The sentiment is stamped in matching ink from SU and backed with a strip of copper paper and dimensionals. I used my favorite holly die in the Spellbinder’s Noel die set to make my copper paper dots.

I certainly hope you are having a wonderful day. Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Hi there, Friend

Hello, It’s the first of November and I am going to tell you that I am in denial, how about you? Do you think if we stomp our feet and do not budge that Christmas won’t come? Me either! Why are things so much harder than they used to be and why are we or should I say me, not anxious about the Holiday Season? Inquiring minds want to know!

Okay, I got a bit sidetracked. Today over at Color Hues, Hannelie is our wonderful hostess and she picked a pretty color pairing that I totally was enamored with.

Here is a close-up of my card. I just love doing this technique with the leaves every year. I love the look of it.

Card Details: The first thing I did was make a stencil using the die that goes with these awesome leaves. Next, I sponged them one at a time in Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers – Oxide Ink. I did this as carefully as I could in hopes to not turn them a shade of green. Then I came back with the matching stamp in black to give them their definition. Finally, I decided to do the inlay technique with the friend die and later bordered it with teal paper. The hi there was added last using a tag die that has been layered 3 times for depth.

Supplies: Retired SU leaves from the Colorful Seasons set. The friend die is from Honey Bee Stamps, and the hi there is from Ellen Hutson and die cut with Pink and Main tags.

Now, if you come on over to Color Hues you will totally be inspired by the fabulous team’s cards along with our wonderful guest-Arlene.

Take care, Nanc’

Hello- CAS

Hello, I hope this post finds you well. I am back up and running with all the essentials of a household; Electricity, TV, and Internet, and it feels so good. I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes the past two weeks as we dealt with Hurricane Ian here on the Gulf coast of Florida. I am just now seeing more of the footage from the hurricane’s path and my heart goes out to those poor people down south of us. To say that we were lucky is a huge understatement. Between the worry, the prep, the storm, and then the cleanup it feels as if the last two weeks have been a month long.

To put it in perspective, in Manatee County they had 143,000 households without power and when we finally received power (7 days later) there were only 1,500 households left. FPL has a great website where you can watch the numbers tick down. We knew we were going to be nearly last, as we were for Irma back in 2017, and that is okay. For Irma, we were without power for a week and then two more days because our AC broke when the surge of it being reconnected was too much for the unit to handle. Thankfully with Ian, the weather had cooled and it wasn’t as hot during the day and the nights were tolerable. Thankfully, we had no damage to our home and just tons of clean-up here and at my father’s house. We aren’t quite done as the house and windows need to be pressure washed to get the sand and debris off, but that can wait.

Now onto my card…Over at Just Us Girls, Sue is our fabulous hostess. She has chosen CAS for us this time around. I luckily have a card for this challenge in my arsenal that I had not shared before. I know that this card was inspired by a card over on Pinterest but I can’t seem to find it when I need it. Sorry about that.

Last week I never had the opportunity to welcome our Guest-Lynne over at JUGS! Sorry about that, Lynne…I am so happy that you are joining us this month.

Card Details: The flower and leaves are from Stampin-Up. The outline of the flamingo is a die from Catherine Pooler. I used a piece of DSP behind him. I left the sentiment off intentionally, as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use it for.

Take care and hope you will consider playing along with us at Just Us Girls. Nanc’
