Thanks

Hello, I am back today with one more card featuring the new Spellbinder’s release called Floral Reflection. I certainly hope you are not growing weary of this set, as I certainly am having a ton of fun with it. I think this is such a wonderful color combo. Cream, Taupe, and Red. Below I have all the details and links on how this card came together!

Sealed Wildflowers

Outlined Sentiments

Truckin Through the Seasons

Spellbinders 6

Card Details: I first cut out all the flowers and stems and got them ready to go. Next, I decided I wanted to make this a Thank you Card so I go out the set called Outlined Sentiments, as I knew it had the word thanks in it. Although I did something a bit different with my word die. I took the word die and the outline die and cut them out together instead of using the shadow die in a different color that’s typically done and so common. What happens is, you get a perfectly outlined die cut instead. I hope that makes sense to you. I decided to make a pocket to hide the stems and to give a base for the greeting. The gold bow is found in the Spellbinders Truckin Through the Seasons set.

I certainly hope you are having a wonderful day. Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa K is our fabulous hostess. She has picked a color combo that looks wonderful together, at least in my opinion. Once I figured out what I wanted to do with this trio, I had a grand time putting my card together.

Card Details: Spellbinders Truckin Through the Seasons, Ellen Hutson-All Inside-Bear, and Cute Clouds are from MFT. I sponged the background with Oxide Inks. The bottom strips are just paper.

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and have a look at my team’s fabulous cards and our guest-Lynne, I know you will be inspired! Take care, Nanc’

Monthly Mix Challenge-Gina K

Hello, Today I am playing along with the Monthly Mix Challenge over at Gina K Designs where my lovely friend Barb is hostess. The challenge is to use an Image, Die-cut, and Sentiment on your project. Such an easy one!

Do you ever take a card just a tiny bit too far and wish you had listened to your gut when it told you to stop? Well, that is how I feel about this card. Everything was going well till I decided to make a mask of the hydrangea stamp and stamp the text in the background. Two things happened that I am not crazy about. First, I should have cut the white piece out of the middle of the flowers because now it looks weird because it has no text, and two, the color ink I chose for my words was just too dark. I wanted something a bit more subtle. But what’s done is done and you have to move on.

Card Details: Hydrangea-Gina K Designs, sentiment is also Gina K, the leaves EF is from ?, the word background is SSS. I used my Copics as my medium and a very small bit of Colored pencil on the leaves. I came back with a white gel pen for the center of the flowers. Sequins and string and I was done.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! This is not my favorite holiday, so hubby and I are taking our bikes to St. Pete for the day! Should be a great distraction from missing my son!

Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Give Thanks

Hello, It’s Sunday so it means we have the next challenge starting at The Paper Players. This week the lovely Claire is our hostess for Theme Week and she has asked us to Give Thanks. I made a card very similar to this one last week for JUGS. I like them both but this is my fav.

I love playing along at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and I have selected the center row-Thankful Sentiment, Free, and Any Color.

Card Details: This card is a CASE of this one Here! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. The retired SU stamp set is called Colorful Seasons and the die set is called Seasonal Layers. The greeting is also from SU. This card also has many dimensionals.

Thankful!

I trust you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying the rest of your weekend with your family and or friends. My anticipation of having Thanksgiving without my nephew for the first time since his passing this summer turned out better than expected. My sister is so much stronger than I could ever imagine and she inspires me each and every day. We had a really nice visit and had lots of really good conversation while she was here. I am thankful for her and the rest of my siblings. And of course very thankful for my hubby and my son! 🙂
Now here are the cards I got to make on Wednesday, since we had the day off from school and it was raining. It felt good to have time to be creative again.

Have a blessed rest of your weekend!

Nancy
