Dancin’ St. Nick

Hello, I am back today with a Christmas card using Spellbinders Dancin’ St. Nick. When I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card I came across this fun piece of snowflake DSP that I wanted to use. Then I thought, why not make Santa in a non-traditional color? What do you think? Have I broken any Christmas rules? LOL Not sure I won over the hubster, but I kinda like him.

Here are his legs moving.

I am linking up with three challenges; Time Out, Happy Little Stampers Christmas, and Peace on Earth Christmas.

Card Details: St. Nick was die-cut and colored with a few Copics to give him some life-like features. Santa’s legs can move with a stack of two small dimensionals to give the body some clearance to help the legs swing. I think the pops of silver really made the card come to life. The Snowflakes are from the Spellbinder’s Noel set. I made the snowbanks with white paper and a very old cutting device from Creative Memories.

I certainly appreciate you checking in on me and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Nanc’

Winter Cheer Shaker

Hello, I am back with another Christmas card using the Dancin Deer from Spellbinders, but this time she isn’t dancing she is actually shaking. Well, at least the background is anyway. LOL If you are a regular here on my blog you know I don’t make shakers too often. They intimidate me and I have no idea why as they really aren’t that hard. I have so many sequins and bling in my stash that I really should just get over it and start using them up. LOL. My cute little dear is not inside the shaker she is tucked and glued down in front of the acetate and I just love how this turned out. I have affiliate links to these products below.

Card Details: First I sponged my cream card-stock to get the perfect tone of brown I wanted for the deer. Then I went searching for a color combo and came across this great SU DSP. I knew I was going to stick a few of the snowflakes on this card as well from the Festive Noel set along with my greeting so I cut those out in complimentary colors. The Tinsel Time Sentiments have really come in handy with all of these cards. Next, it was finally time to make the shaker element and put this card together.

If shakers aren’t your thing I found a really simple video HERE by Amy R that helped me with a refresher course.

I am also linking up once again over at Simon Says Stamps as they are featuring a Christmas theme and Spellbinder products.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share some more cards featuring Spellbinder’s darling new products with you! I hope you have had or are having a wonderfully creative day, Nanc’

Tinsel Time

Hello, I am back again today with another Christmas card using the train and sentiments that are part of the Tinsel Time Collection. from Spellbinders. I hope you are enjoying seeing all my Christmas in August cards as much as I am enjoying making them. The tiny ornaments/bows and presents are also such a great addition to this set!

I thought about this card the longest as I wanted to do something a bit unexpected with the train. I think the cream and silver look so elegant together and I love the way it turned out. The piece of striped vellum I found in my stash was the final key that helped pull this card together.

Card Details: The darling train and cute ornaments and gifts are called the Holiday Express Etched Dies. The Tinsel Time greeting can be found in the Tinsel Time Sentiments set. I used a snowflake embossing folder from SU for the top of my card. The striped vellum I have had in my stash for eons and is also from SU. I used a strip of mirrored paper to divide my panels. The train engine window has a piece of vellum over it. The glitter paper really made this card come to life as well. I have dimensionals under my greeting.

Over at Simon Says Stamps they have a challenge starting today that is Christmas and they also are featuring Spellbinders products too. I will be linking my train up over there as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day! Nanc’

Naughty or Nice?

Hello, I am back today with another card for the Spellbinders release of Tinsel Time Collection, and I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. As I started working on putting my card together and seeing Dancin’ St. Nick come alive, I couldn’t help but fall in love. What a jolly old fella he is. I think the Tinsel Time die-cut sentiments are super fun and coordinate so well with these fun characters.

A Few Card Details: The tags were made with a punch from Stampin Up. St. Nick was die-cut and colored with a few Colored pencils and or Copics to give him some life-like features. I have used some dimensionals under Santa, and the sentiments too. Santa’s legs can move but for this card, I chose to glue them in place. I think the pops of gold really made him come to life.

Merry Christmas

Hello, Today I am super excited to be a part of a group of designers sharing a new collection from Spellbinders called Tinsel Time Collection. Thanks to Yana Smakula for reaching out and asking me to join in the fun, I certainly appreciate it and didn’t quite believe it at first! I actually asked her if it was Spam email! LOL

For this card, I have chosen to showcase the Dancin’ Dear. Isn’t she just darling? Her legs wobble back and forth when you tilt the card. The entire collection is just as cute as can be and it certainly has put me in the Christmas mood despite these temperatures.

When I was nearly done with my card, I thought the reindeer needed a matching hat for her scarf, so luckily the Santa hat from the Dancin’ St. Nick set did the trick. I will be sharing him with you very, very soon! The Merry Christmas die is also part of this collection as well and is called Tinsel Time Sentiments. The two snowflake dies are found in the Festive Noel Etched Dies set, also from Spellbinders. I have affiliate links for you below!

A Few Card Details: I sponged some cream cardstock in Vintage Photo Oxide ink till I found the perfect tone of brown I wanted for my reindeer. I stenciled my background using a snowflake stencil from Miss Ink Stamps in Kitsch Flamingo and then took some Nuvo Glimmer paste to get my shimmer. After I cut the rest of the pieces out from various cardstock and or DSP, it was time for assembly. I finished off the brim of the hat and pom-pom with clear Nuvo drops and glitter. I used dimensionals to achieve the height I needed for her legs to wobble.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my news and some fun new products with you! I hope you have a wonderful day, Nanc’
