Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Crazy 4 Hearts

Crazy 4 hearts… that’s me lately!

It’s time for another Valentine card!

Today’s card is very, very simple!

I just used 3 hearts of different sizes!

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy as my 4th graders would say!

Two of them were cut out with my cricut and the small one is a punch I have had for 20 years!

Ran the medium size through my cuttlebug for some texture, add some pop dots, ribbon and that’s it!

The I love you stamp is from Michaels.

Thanks for stopping in,

I am headed back to the couch…home with a fever and Tonsillitis! ūüė¶

Here are the 2 challenges I am linking this to!

Crazy 4 ChallengesРHearts, but no red or pink

Addicted to Stamps– Bingo challenge …I used Hearts, stamp, love

See you soon

Just Add Hearts

More Hearts?  Yes I am afraid so!  You can never get to much LOVE!

Today’s card is going to look very similar to one I posted earlier in the week.

My co-worker liked her card so much that she asked me to make another

one very similar so that she may frame it.  I was happy to oblige and I thought that was such a compliment!

So if you are thinking you have seen this layout before, well yes you have.

This one is much better, don’t you think?

Can’t decide if I like the soft edges on my card photo or if I should leave it the way I usually do it.

Your thoughts?

I am linking it up with two challenges.

Just add Ink– “Just Add Hearts.”

The Pink Elephant– “Love is in the Air.”

Thanks for your feed back, I so appreciate it!

And if you have any questions let me know!

Long and Short

Hello fellow stampers or scrappers, ( this post is rather long but worth reading)

Over at the Casual Fridays they asked us to¬†Create a CAS card that has one long side and one short side. For example a¬†3 x 6, 4 x 8, etc. Not a standard A2 card. ¬†I have been wanting to do this size for a while now! ¬†My card actually measures out to be a 2 3/4 x 5 1/2…but I think it will do! ¬†I am also going to head on over to the Friday Mashup and enter this in their challenge to incorporate brads on your card! ¬†The stamps I used are from Verve…Love them!

I have a wonderful person in this fabulous world of card making that I absolutely am blown away by…not only is she the most talented designer I have ever seen, she is a genuine beautiful person inside and out. ¬† Although, I have never met her or even spoken to her outside this wonderful venue of the internet….I can honestly say that I am certain that I am correct in this statement, by the way she puts text to her thoughts and the way she speaks of her family and to her friends and admirers. ¬†I feel very blessed to have been following her talents, troubles and triumphs for almost 3 years now. ¬†Why am I saying all of this? ¬†Well, it is my admiration of her spectacular work that I someday hope to grow up and be as talented as she is! (lol) ¬†She is my inspiration behind my card for today and I have posted hers along with mine. ¬†Mind you, this is a very basic card and the word basic should not be in the same sentence with Laurie Schmidlin….. but, I had to start with a simple card and work my way up! ¬†Please if you have never stumbled upon her blog before, go and have a look, you will be as blown away as I am. ¬†She also is on the Design Team over at Stamp TV and you can check her out there as well!

First Card for 2013

Good Day Blogging Friends….My first card for 2013 is all about LOVE.

As I was working in my studio yesterday and was discussing life and my card making addiction with myself,

I thought….. Nancy how are you going to make 2013 a turning point for you in the Crafting blogosphere and in your personal life?

And the word LOVE kept coming to mind.

Whether it’s at home, at work, in the neighborhood, sending a card, buying flowers, baking for someone …it all comes back to LOVE.

So I am going to share with you my 2 Resolutions for 2013 in hopes that it will give me a gentle reminder of my intentions

and keep me focused on what is really important.

And that is

My New Year’s Resolution for 2013 is

Doing for Others

If that doesn’t scream LOVE than nothing else does!

My Resolution for my Personal Hobby/Addiction is

To get selected for another Design Team that I currently follow and adore and

to get one or more of my cards Published in a Magazine.

This also screams LOVE because I love making cards!

Thanks for letting me share that with you in hopes to keep me more accountable!

Now onto some details on today’s card which is the real reason you stopped in!

I started of the New Year playing with two of my favorite challenge sites.

Freshly Made sketches and CR84FN.

FMS Final 67-001

Both these sites have great inspiration and always help get my MOJO going!

Card Details:

I took a nail file to my cardstock after I ran it through the SU Lattice Embossing folder so that I would get the texture I wanted.

The paper I was using has a white center so when you rub on it with a nail file it comes off.  LOVE this technique!!!

Did the same thing with the smaller heart around it’s edges…it almost looks as if I took a white pen to it and outlined it, but I really didn’t.

There are a lot of layers on the front panels of this card!

In the photo the Lavender looks a little grey…but trust me it’s not :/

Cardstock: Gina K Designs

Paper: DCWV, Colorbok and scrap

Stamps: Block Letters

Acc: pop dots and string

Tools: MS Punch- Heart Border

Cricut :- Hearts

Cuttlebug to emboss the paper

Let me know if you have any questions!

Have a great Weekend!

Valentine’s Day!

Hope you had a nice Valentine’s Day! ¬†Mine was very quiet because DH wasn’t feeling very good. ¬†But he’s not big on that Holiday anyways, ¬†he always says ” I don’t need a Hallmark Holiday to remind me to tell my wife I love her.”

This card is for a challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges. Check it out if you get a chance!

Anyways, this is a card I sent to my sister!
