Navy, Gold and Pink

There is a fabulous color trio over at The Color Throwdown and I wanted to make sure to play along.  Not only did the colors inspire me the picture of the Fireworks did too.

I decided to try and mimic all the streaks and colors in the sky with the splash watercoloring technique. At first I thought the flowers came out a bit too bold, but as I put the card together it started to grow on me.  I made my heart background with this very cool SU paper that works so well with Oxide inks. It does an ink resist.  I LOVE IT, but sadly I don’t believe it’s still available. I heat embossed my leaves with gold EP and punched them out with the coordinating SU punch.

I’m also linking this up over at The Paper Players where they have their 400th Celebration going on with prizes too. Congrats to The Paper Players for being around so long. We appreciate all your efforts and inspiration!

Finally, Once again over at CAS Watercolour where they have Splash Watercoloring technique challenge going on.

Thanks for stopping in…makes my day! Nanc’

Card Details: SU Flowers, leaves, and Punches, MFT Happy die and Heart die, Neat and Tangled Birthday stamp, SU background paper that I colored with Oxide inks, Nuvo drops and pink pearl accents.

Something Old/ Something New

Hello Friends, It’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has selected a fun and easy challenge for us! All you have to do is to use Something Old and or Something New on your card and or project.  I have done both…sort of! My stamp set is very Old as I have had it for YEARS and it’s New as it has never had INK on it until now.  Now that I think about it, the sentiment is New as well as I have never used it before.

Before I go I want to say Thanks to Aileen for being such a terrific Guest this past month!  HUGS, Nanc’

Supplies; Stamp-Inkadinkado, Watercoloring, Gold Embossing powder, MFT-heart, Sentiment-Stampin UP.

Watercoloring and Spring!

IMG_00011

Hello My Friends and Faithful Followers,

Today over at Just Us Girls Lisa has challenged us to use watercolors as our background.

The Design Team and I were definitely on the same wave length…a good portion of us used

orange somewhere on our card….is so funny with those things happen.

I just love Lisa’s card too!

Anyways,  Let me give you a few details on how this came together.

First thing I did was stamp the leaves and flowers (SU) with versa mark and heat

embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I took my

Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight inks and a SU Aqua Painter and streaked them

across the page.  I wiped off the excess ink that doesn’t stick to the embossed images

with a tissue.  Then I stamped my script in Brown Stazon Ink.  Last, I took

a paint brush that was heavily coated in Real Red mixed with Tangerine Tango watered down ink

and splattered the ink by shaking the paint brush.

( Make sure you cover your walls and workstation,

I didn’t and that ink went everywhere ! LOL)

Did the same thing with my Butterfly (minus the splat) which by the way is from Stamp TV.

The sentiment is from Verve!

All the paper is from Stampin UP.

Okay, I am also entering this over at Mod Squad  where they asked us to make

our own Background paper and to use 3 Spring Bright Colors.

Now,  Head on over to Just Us Girls and see what my other teammates did

with the Watercolor challenge and/or join me over at Mod Squad!

Find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul!
