Wishing You…

Hello,  I had some time to play along with The Flower Challenge today, and what they asked us to do this time around is pick one of their previous challenges to play along with.  I have chosen Challenge #10- Heat/Dry Embossing. The stamp set I have used is from Altenew, and decided to pair that with some watercoloring.  The sentiment is from Verve.

I am also on Day 12 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge. I can’t believe I have made it this far!  I have really enjoyed doing some type of coloring everyday! It’s been fun, and relaxing too!

Hope you are finding some time to be creative, Nanc’

Beachy Birthday!

Hello Friends,  Boy the weeks just keep flying by! It’s Thursday already, and time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday. We have NO Topping this time around, as long as it’s a Birthday card and or project, you are good to go!  I don’t know if I mentioned this here before, so if I have my apologies.  I am now selling my cards at a Local Boutique and Makers Market and it’s keeping me really, really, really busy!  The store is not even 5 miles from the beach, so the card above just so happens to be for the store. They say my beachy cards are popular…so I will oblige them!  The card is watercolored for the most part and highlighted here and there with Prisma colored pencils. The multi step palm tree stamps are from Kitchen Sink. The sentiment is my go to from Verve!

Before I go I hope you will consider joining us at Seize the Birthday, my team and our Surprise party guest Anita have done a fantastic job. Hope you will consider coming on by and checking it out for yourself! Happy Stamping, Nanc’

Smooshing @ JUGS!

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 11.57.39 AMHello Friends,  Happy Saturday!  Today, starting over at Just Us Girls, Sue has a fun technique for you to try and it’s not difficult either.  It’s called the smooshing technique and the great part about it is, you can’t mess it up. There are a few different ways to achieve this effect but the way I did it was; I took some watercolored paper, three of my SU inks, a piece of acetate, and my spritzer filled with water. If you have never tried this technique before, here is a video by Kristina Werner that will help get you started! CTS_167I saw this great sketch a few days ago over at CAS(E) this Sketch and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.  I knew I wanted to use my new stamps and dies from Verve that I just got, and finally an idea came to me.  I did stretch the sketch just a tad when I added the sentiment in the top left corner, but I really felt I needed to add it to make the card work. I sure hope I won’t be disqualified!

I had a great time with this card and I sure hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS this week giving the smooshing technique a try!  Who knows you may even be chosen as our next Chic of the Week!   Take care, Nanc’

Hosting at JUGS!

Screen Shot 2016-02-06 at 12.58.52 PMHello friends,  I am the hostess this week over at Just Us Girls and I just so happen to have picked out a beach photo, so if this card looks similar to my last post it was made the same day.  I had such a good time creating my beach scene with my SU watercolor brush for my Seize the Birthday post that I just couldn’t put it away quite yet. I don’t own any shell stamps or sea creatures, (I know the horror and I live in Florida) and then I remembered a scrapbook page I created eons ago that I used punches on to create my sea creatures.  I got out my scrapbook to locate that page that I was thinking of, and may have gotten sidetracked for awhile and shed a few tears as my baby is not 6 anymore, and recreated my sea creatures.  I know the proportions are a little off, but I think that’s okay.  I again used some white foam to pop up my center shape.  Hope you decide to join me and my fabulous team for our Photo Inspiration at Just Us Girls.  Doesn’t that beach cake look amazing?  Enjoy, Nanc’

Watercolor Stamping

DSC_0489

ModSquadLogoHello Friends!  I had some time yesterday afternoon to make a few cards.  This particular card is for the Watercolor stamping challenge that my friend Judy is hosting over at the Mod Squad.  I had some not so good results initially, so that is why the flowers are layered with pop dots. 😉  You can never have to many flowers on a card now can you?  The flowers and leaves and butterflies are SU.  The sentiment is one of my favorites from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by today…I so appreciate it!  Nanc’
