Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Congratulations at CH

Hello friends, It is the middle of the month, and also happens to be my hubby’s birthday today, and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Carol is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen a beautiful color pairing of Cream and Blue. I immediately decided that this combination would make a nice color pairing for a wedding card, so that is what I did.

Card Details: I knew I wanted to use texture paste on my background and of course as soon as I opened the jar I knew it was dried out. I think I had only used it twice before.☹️ Anyway, I thought why not add a little water to it and see if I can revive it! It worked! It wasn’t the perfect consistency but I managed to spread enough on this card.

Here is a list of products I used:

  • Stitched hearts-MFT
  • Texture Paste-
  • Spring Foliage-Sizzix
  • Spring Things (Bees)- Sizzix
  • Mini Everyday Sentiments (Foiled)-Spellbinders
  • Tiny Flowers-Rain Boot Bouquet-Spellbinders

I hope you will come over to Color Hues and check out my talented Design Team’s cards, along with our guest Steph, and join us. We would love to have you!

Take care and happy creating! Nanc’

  1. First: Happy Birthday to your wonderful husband! Hope his day is filled with celebration, joy and love!

Second: your wedding card is gorgeous! The stitched layered hearts, the delicate blue blossoms, the sweet gold bees, the textured background (my pastes dry out ever so quickly, too) are a fabulous combination! Lucky couple receiving this work of art!

  2. Good for you on the save of your paste. I gave up on that a long time ago, LOL! But your card is just delightful! Anything blue is a good thing in my book!

  3. This is a “WOW” card Nanc’! Gorgeous design and perfect with the colours of the challenge. LOVE the texture from your embossing paste background with the die-cuts popped up on top. Great work! xx

  4. I love, love, love this delicate and beautiful wedding card, Nancy! The paste save was a good one and you added just the perfect amount to ground all the other elements. Those tiny flowers and bees are just too sweet. Happy birthday to your hubby – I hope he’s having a fabulous day celebrating!

  5. First off…happy, happy birthday to Dave! I hope he’s had a great day! Now to your card…it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL Nanc’! I love how you did your background with the paste, and glad the addition of the water brought it back to life! Sometimes water and nuking it for a few seconds at a time can really bring those pastes back to life too! The hearts, the flowers, the bees, and the leafery are all such beautiful touches to this lovely, lovely wedding card my friend! Hugs. :0)

  6. That’s beautiful Nancy! Such an elegant design. Hope your hubby had a fab birthday!

  7. Love this take on the colours Nancy and well rescued with the embossing paste, I’ve had to chuck my Nuovo paste after only using it twice! Perhaps I should have tried the water, it worked with my dried up wax.

Hope your hubby had a fab birthday too. 🙂

  8. Wedding cards are never anything I think of creating until I need one! You are so right–this color combo worked perfectly for one. I love the soft colors, the off-set heart and the tiny gold butterflies. What a gorgeous design!

  9. Oh Nancy, I love this soft, elegant card. It is so beautiful with all of the texture. Fabulous card, my friend. Have a great day.

  10. I love the way you’ve used these colors, Nanc’! The embossing paste in the background adds wonderful texture and I love the sweet flowers, stitched hearts and delightful bees!

  11. Your embossing paste adds wonderful texture, just the right amount! This is a lovely use of the colors, Nancy. I think the little sparkly bees are my favorite part! Happy belated birthday wishes to your hubby, hope you spoiled him!

  12. I could not love this more! Now I need to buy more texture paste, dangit. LOL! This is just breathtaking.

  13. What a fabulous idea to create a wedding card with our colors, Nancy. This could not be MORE beautiful! The texture is amazing and the delicate florals are stunning. I especially love the bit of gold and it adds such elegance and shine. I could look at this for a long time, I just love it!
