Butterflies…

Hello, How you holding up these days?   Today was rough, emotional wise.  I just can’t help but feel extremely bad for the nurses and doctors on the front lines day after day. I can’t even imagine what they are going through.  As I sit here in the “lap of luxury” in my comfy house, with a stocked fridge, watching TV…all while knowing that others around the world are struggling so much, you can’t help feel quite guilty, to say the least.

Anyways, I am sure you probably stopped by to escape for a while, and I am not helping one tiny bit right about now, so let’s move on.  Today’s card is perfect for how I am feeling right now and let me explain why. Today’s card is for two challenges.  Over at Just Add Ink they have the letter E for their challenge.  The first thing I thought of when I sat down to make my card that depicted my mood was the word Empathy.

EMPATHY is defined as;  the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another’s position.

I may not fully understand what the nurses, doctors, EMT workers, and the list goes on and on are going through, I do in fact have extreme EMPATHY for each and every one of them. So that is where the sentiment came to be.  It is not a typical Sympathy card, but I made it for someone that loves butterflies. And I know she will like it.  It is a CASE of a card I made a year or so ago.

I am also linky my card up once again over at The Paper Players where it’s a Tic Tac Toe Board and I have selected the row: Rhinestones, Spring and Butterfly

I think that is all I have for you tonight.  If you have any questions about the details of my card, just let me know.   Take care and stay safe, Nanc’

You Bring Me Joy

I am back again today with more adorable bunnies from MFT.   Over at The Paper Players, they have a Tic Toe Board to inspire you. I have selected; Pink, Spring and Patterned Paper.  I have paired that challenge with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Now as for my card.  It drives hubby crazy when I use black ink to stamp my images before I color them.  So to appease him today I stamped my bunny in a light color and then colored him with Copics and Colored pencil.  Of course, when I showed it to him he said it was so very light. LOL I tend to agree with him, but don’t tell him I said that even if it is our Anniversary.  I will try again this afternoon.

Here is a picture of us 28 years ago today!  To keep the wedding cost down we didn’t hire a professional photographer and that is a huge regret of mine!  Wow, look at me slouching so that I am not taller than Dave!   Stay safe, Nanc’

Bubble Kisses

Hi, I finally felt like getting inky today, so after my chores were done I went to work.   I have recently received this adorable MFT set called Bubbled Over with Joy and I couldn’t wait to open it up.  It’s been a while since I did some paper piecing and I thought these darling bunnies would be perfect for it. I went searching for a challenge to partake in and I landed at the Time Out Challenge and The Color Throwdown.  The Time Out Challenge is helping to show awareness of Epilepsy, hence the purple ribbon!  This hits close to home so I was sure I wanted to play along.  My sister has Epilepsy and it is a complicated condition that is often misunderstood.

I used both Copic and Colored pencils. The sunray stencil and the rounded corner stitched rectangle die are from MFT. I also used a SU dots EF for my white background piece. This is the card that inspired me!

I hope however you chose to spend the day it helped ease your sorrow, Stay safe! Nanc’

Miss You

Hi,  Here I am back with another post for Just Us Girls.  I don’t know about you but it feels kinda strange writing a post and acting like things are fine.  However, here I am once more!

Today’s card is a nice mix of lots of things, The polka-dotted and green paper is actually DP but the piece in between was sponged using a stencil. The flowers stamp and vases are a mix of SU and Gina K., and the flower die is MFT.

Before I go I would like to say thanks to Vicky Hayes for being such an amazing guest with us this month!

Please, if you are crafting (and your mojo isn’t gone) and you don’t know what else to do with yourself, consider joining us this week at JUGS!

Stay safe and happy creating, Nanc’

Have a Magical Birthday

Hello,  I find it hard to start a post these days.  Not sure acting like all is well is the right thing to do, however today I think that is the direction I am going.  Today we have a new challenge starting at Seize the Birthday.  This time it’s all about the Kids!  I have this darling new to me stamp set that I was just itching to get inky.  I didn’t blend my Oxide background as well as I thought I did and I didn’t realize that until I saw it here on my post. I colored the unicorn with both Copics and Colored pencils.  The stamp set is from My Next stamp and the sentiment is from Scrapbook.com.

You have to check out the rest of the DT’s cards at Seize the Birthday…it’s amazing how different they all are!

If you find yourself creating a lot these days, I hope you will consider playing along with us at STB. Remember the topping is optional and any type of birthday card will do.

Take care of yourself and HUGS! Nanc’

Fore Your Birthday

Hello,  What do you do when you have no control over the situation?  Continue to make cards I guess.  I needed a card for my Brother in law and that is what I did today.  Well, that’s not all I did today, but you understand I am sure. This card was super quick and easy to do.  The stamp set is from Papertrey Ink and the stitched rectangles are MFT.  I am glad I had a chance to play along at The Color Throwdown too.  As I was writing this post I realized I failed to remember to use Cream and I used white.  OOPS!

I go back to work tomorrow (in designated shifts) and get to find out what I can do to help in the world of On-Line Learning.  Wish me luck.

I hope you enjoyed your day however you chose to spend it.  Nanc’

You Inspire Me!

Hello, I hope this post finds you well during these trying times in our life.  Today over at Just Us Girls we have a color challenge beginning.  This isn’t the card I intended on posting for this challenge, but luckily I made another one yesterday (not realizing at all) that it was in the same color pallet of our challenge starting today.  Anyways, you see my computer crashed and I took it in to be repaired and my other card is on that computer.  I sent it to myself via email, and now can’t find it on hubby’s computer. So here is card number two!  I feel silly even explaining this to you when there are real problems we are facing.  I wish I could drive to California and retrieve my family and bring them here!  This is seriously getting real folks!

I hope in the midst of all this uncertain times, if you feel like crafting you will consider playing along with us at Just Us Girls.

These cards were fun to create and let me escape the real world for a bit. I made my own stencil using a VERVE leaf.  I found this gold shimmery gel in my studio closet and it worked perfectly!  The background was first sponged with Oxide Ink.  The inspire die is by Penny Black, the flower and YOU are MFT, and the Me So Much is from SU.  The little flowers were also sponged with the gold gel.

Here is a pic of the background and the stencil gel I stumbled upon.

Here is my second card!

Hugs to each one of you and hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS!  Nanc’

Spring Animals

Hello,  Yesterday after hubby and I took a very relaxing walk I went to my studio for some quiet time and this is what I did.  I knew as soon as I saw the Twofer Challenge for the month I would be joining along. I have a cute MFT stamp set that had yet to be opened, so it was the perfect opportunity to break that seal.

Details: MFT stamps and Dies, Spring Sentiment is from Michaels, the Happy Birthday stamp is SSS, The Tag die is MFT, Lawn Fawn Hilltop dies, clouds stencil MFT, and Washi Tape. Colored with Copics and a smidge of colored pencils along with Oxide Inks for the clouds. One of my cards was inspired by this darling card HERE!

Thanks so much for popping by! Your visits and comments are so appreciated.  Take care of yourselves, Nanc’

Love is in the mail…

Hello, Don’t know about how you are feeling this morning but the world has me a bit perplexed. I sometimes think that this is a horrible dream and I will wake up soon.  I don’t know how I am supposed to feel.  I don’t want to stop living my life and going places because businesses are counting on me.  People’s lives are in our hands so to speak.  However, If I feel scared or worried to go out am I overreacting?  If I don’t seem concerned enough, am I naive or worse….stupid.  Should I stop watching the news or going on FB to ease my worry and then be so far out of the loop that I have no idea what is going on?  I just don’t know what to do?  I feel a bit strange even posting a card and acting like it’s just another Saturday, but here I am.  I would love to know how you are feeling and if I am alone?

This card is for Trend Week over at Just Us Girls.  We are to use black backgrounds on our cards.

Card Details: Sentiment is from MFT, the daisies are Elizabeth Craft Designs and the hilltop die is Lawn Fawn.  This card is nearly identical of one I posted a few days ago for STB.  I just love the layout so much I had to try again. You can find my other card by scrolling.

Take care and go wash those hands,  Nanc’

A Touch of Green

I hope your day is off to a great start!  I personally have just a couple more days and it will be Spring Break!  (Insert dance party right here! )LOL. Now seriously, I am super excited for a break! It is much needed more for personal being than work. Okay, let’s talk about my card.  As much as I love how this card came to be it was inspired by this card HERE and not a design of my own.  Before I get to the card details, I would like to welcome a new Suprise Party Guest we have starting with us over at Seize the Birthday.  Her name is Stef Perry and she is someone you will definitely recognize when you pop on over to her blog and have a look. She is super talented and will be with us for both March and April.  Welcome Stef!!  So happy you are designing with us!

I am also going to link this card up over at The Flower Challenge where it’s Anything Goes and Simon Says Monday Challenge where it’s A bit O’ Green.

Card Details: I did the background with Oxide Inks, the daisies are Elizabeth Craft Designs, the fun stitched hills are Lawn Fawn, the sentiment is from two different sets by Simon Says Stamps.

I sure hope you will come by STB and check out all the cards from the design team, and while you are there decide to join in the fun!   Happy creating, Nanc’
