Wild Card Week- Holiday Tags

Hello, It’s the 5th Saturday of the month and that means it’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls. I love WCW! Carol Mc is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen Holiday Tags for us and hopefully you too! I was thrilled to see this challenge coming as it gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new Pink and Main darling snowman stamps that have been patiently waiting for me on my desk. I don’t make shakers very often but totally enjoyed making these. In hind-sight, I wish I would have put both images on the side of the shaker. The one cute snowman with his scarf and beanie hides the rolling hill and all the shaky good stuff.

A Few Tag Details: First, I ink-blended the background in Oxide Inks-Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky, and Wilted Violet. Next, I built the shaker elements using leftover packaging for my window, inside I have a fun mix from Hobby Lobby that has snowflakes in it. I then included some fine white glitter. I colored my images with Copics and a bit of Prisma colored pencils. Then I assembled the tag using strips of Fun Foam for my barrier.

Supplies: Pink and Main; Snow Sweet Stamps and Large Sentiment Strip dies, MFT-Tag dies, Lawn Fawn-stitched Hills. Some ribbon, twine, and silver dots finished it off nicely.

I am going to link these tags up over at Simon Says Stamps where it’s Anything Goes and featuring Pink and Main products.

I am also linking up with Addicted to Stamps and More for the Make Your Mark Challenge.

Before I go, I want to take a minute and thank Lynne for being a wonderful guest this past month! We have certainly enjoyed all your work. Now, come on over to JUGS and join us! Take care, Nanc’

Butterfly in Halloween Colors

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am back home after our trip to California and have got lots to catch up with, so I will get right to it. Today over at Seize the Birthday Vicki has chosen Halloween Colors as our topping. I recently purchased this incredible Butterfly Emboss and Cut from Pink and Main and I have been itching to play with it. I thought I could get away with using it for this challenge and make myself a somewhat Monarch-looking butterfly. It embosses and cuts at the same time. I have linked it up for you HERE!

Card Details: First I took my leaves stencil from Miss Ink Stamps and made my background using three shades of Oxide Inks and then splattered it with some black paint. I had this white frame on my desk that was made with my Lattice die from Whimsy Stamps. So, I backed it with some orange cardstock to frame in the butterflies. After I embossed and cut out the butterflies, (which are linked up for you above) I used more oxide inks and a bit of white paint to make my butterflies come to life. I used a small holly die from Spellbinders to make my gold body centers and random dots. I can’t remember where the sentiment is from as it was waiting to be used in my bits and boxes drawer. I used some foam tape around the frame to give the card some dimension and to rest the butterflies wings on.

I am linking up with two other challenges; Darnell over at NBUS as my butterflies are new and Happy Little Stampers-Anything Goes with Dies.

I hope you will pop on over to Seize the Birthday and play along with us. The DT and our guest Asa have some really great cards over there for inspiration. Take care, Nanc’

Thinking of You…

Hello, It’s time for our next challenge over at Just Us Girls. It is photo week and Cecile is our wonderful hostess. I drew my inspiration from the colors and the stick things coming out of the block of wood, they reminded me of flowers. Plus, I had a brand new die-cut that I had been itching to use.

Card Details: The cover plate die is Stitched Diamonds from Pink Fresh Studio. The flower die is called Morning Blossom and is from Simon Says Stamps. I tried inking them a bit with Oxide Inks for some dimension. The sentiment is from Gina K and heat embossed. The card didn’t photograph well and looks so much better in person.

I didn’t love the way the first card turned out so I decided to make another one using one of my favorite color combos of Pink and Grey. This one photographed a bit better too.

Along with the other supplies I mentioned we have ; a SU Script EF, Stitched scallop rectangle is from MFT, and the Sympathy greeting is from Sunny Studios- Inside Greetings set.

Have a great day and I hope you head on over to Just Us Girls and join us! Nanc’

Fall is in the Air

Hello, I hope you are having a good week so far. I have had this cute little Fall Gnome set from Spellbinders for about a month now and it was past time that I inked him up. The set is absolutely darling and has so many cute stamps included. I recently realized that Fall themed stamps are probably what I have the least of, so I am very pleased to add this set to my collection!

The weather has been so much cooler here post-Hurricane Ian and we are enjoying our morning and evening walks so much. In fact, near the end of this week, we are supposed to have highs in the 70’s, so Fall is showing itself a bit even here in Florida.

After I stamped, colored, and die cut these darling images, I decided to get out my MFT Watercolored Wash Rectangle to make a background for Mr. Gnome. In order to make the gap in the sky and the grass I shorten the stencil using the positive piece that comes in the set. Then I remove the stencil, make a gap, and finish inking the bottom using Oxide inks once again. For my mediums I have mostly used Copics with a bit of Prisma Colored Pencils for detail, especially for his beard.

Here is a pic to help you understand what I did with the stencil.

I am playing along with Addicted to Stamps and More for their Die Cut and Stencil Challenge.

I hope you have a wonderful day and get a chance to do something that brings you Joy! Your visits certainly bring me JOY as well!

Take care, Nanc’

A Note to Brighten …

Hello, It’s the middle of the month and I literally can’t believe it. I have never ever seen a year go so quickly! It just blows my mind. Do you feel that way too? Today’s card is for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Cindy has chosen a wonderful color combo for us. My card looks a bit like Spring but that’s okay. I like the simplicity of it and I needed some quick cards in my arsenal so I made a few while I was at it.

We also have my buddy Bobby joining us over at Color Hues as our guest, Welcome my friend! Everyone’s cards are so good over there, you have to come by and check them out.

Card Details: Dies are from MFT Spring Garden. The sentiment is also MFT and is in the You’re My Sunshine set.

I certainly hope this card brightens your day as your visits often brighten mine! Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa K is our fabulous hostess. She has picked a color combo that looks wonderful together, at least in my opinion. Once I figured out what I wanted to do with this trio, I had a grand time putting my card together.

Card Details: Spellbinders Truckin Through the Seasons, Ellen Hutson-All Inside-Bear, and Cute Clouds are from MFT. I sponged the background with Oxide Inks. The bottom strips are just paper.

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and have a look at my team’s fabulous cards and our guest-Lynne, I know you will be inspired! Take care, Nanc’

Birthday Wishes

Hello, It’s Thursday and time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday! Shirley is our fabulous hostess and she chose Faces- Human or Animal for us. I think it was a clever idea and one I don’t believe we have ever done before. It gave me the perfect opportunity to play with this adorable set from MFT.

Card Details: This stamp set is new to me and called You are My Sunshine and is from MFT. I paired it with some MFT Cute Clouds and Stitched Rainbow. The pieces of grass and or shrubs at the bottom of my card are something I bet I have had in my Green scraps container for at least 20+ years, I kid you not. I don’t throw much away. LOL

I hope you will come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out the wonderful cards by the DT and guest and join us! Take care, Nanc’

You’re Spooktacular

Hello, I just had to make another Halloween card using this fun new Pretty Pink Posh Candy Corn stencil set. This time I made a full panel right on the card base and then framed it with a border I had waiting on my desk. I think this little ghost might be my favorite from the Pink and Main set called Hello Bootiful. You definitely should check it out.

I am linking up with two challenge sites The first if for Inkspirational Challenge where the technique is to use stencils, and for a brand new challenge site called Stencil Fun Challenge, and for their debut- it’s Halloween Colors.

Card Details: Pretty Pink Posh-Candy Corn Stencils- Oxide Inks. The white part of the candy corn was made with textured paste and then I added some clear Nuvo drops and some glitter. The stamps are from Pink and Main-Hello Bootiful set. The border is a leftover piece from a Cover Plate from Pink Fresh Studio called Sparkling Diamonds. I used a Dotted EF. The stitched Dome is from Pink and Main. A bit of Copics and Colored Pencil. Some dimensionals and orange sequin dots to finish it off.

Have a wonderful creative day! Nanc’

Hello- CAS

Hello, I hope this post finds you well. I am back up and running with all the essentials of a household; Electricity, TV, and Internet, and it feels so good. I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes the past two weeks as we dealt with Hurricane Ian here on the Gulf coast of Florida. I am just now seeing more of the footage from the hurricane’s path and my heart goes out to those poor people down south of us. To say that we were lucky is a huge understatement. Between the worry, the prep, the storm, and then the cleanup it feels as if the last two weeks have been a month long.

To put it in perspective, in Manatee County they had 143,000 households without power and when we finally received power (7 days later) there were only 1,500 households left. FPL has a great website where you can watch the numbers tick down. We knew we were going to be nearly last, as we were for Irma back in 2017, and that is okay. For Irma, we were without power for a week and then two more days because our AC broke when the surge of it being reconnected was too much for the unit to handle. Thankfully with Ian, the weather had cooled and it wasn’t as hot during the day and the nights were tolerable. Thankfully, we had no damage to our home and just tons of clean-up here and at my father’s house. We aren’t quite done as the house and windows need to be pressure washed to get the sand and debris off, but that can wait.

Now onto my card…Over at Just Us Girls, Sue is our fabulous hostess. She has chosen CAS for us this time around. I luckily have a card for this challenge in my arsenal that I had not shared before. I know that this card was inspired by a card over on Pinterest but I can’t seem to find it when I need it. Sorry about that.

Last week I never had the opportunity to welcome our Guest-Lynne over at JUGS! Sorry about that, Lynne…I am so happy that you are joining us this month.

Card Details: The flower and leaves are from Stampin-Up. The outline of the flamingo is a die from Catherine Pooler. I used a piece of DSP behind him. I left the sentiment off intentionally, as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use it for.

Take care and hope you will consider playing along with us at Just Us Girls. Nanc’
