Happy Big Day!

DSC_0057

Screen Shot 2015-01-18 at 1.15.39 PMHello Friends,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Photo Week!  I had a request for a 60th Anniversary card and I had this idea in my head and thought I could pull it off based on Vicki’s photo she chose.  So, I concentrated on just the gold and not so much the green.  However,  there are green stars on my card I promise…. they were just so hard to capture in the photo.  Each star has a small bling in the center as well.  Can’t say I am in love with this card, but the recipient was! I didn’t have a balloon stamp that size, so I made a stencil with my Martha Stewart balloon punch.  The sentiment is from SU set Chalk Talk and the Chevron embossing folder is SU too.  I framed off my sentiment with a square nestie.  Added some string with a gel pen and included some pop dots.

I sure hope you come by and join us at Just Us Girls.  Remember if your chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer with us in the future.  Speaking of Guest Designer!  Stephanie has been a fantastic GD with us this month.  Her cards have been really fabulous!  Thanks so much Stephanie, we enjoyed having you with us!   Have a fantastic weekend and see you over at JUGS!  Nanc’

The Kindness You Show…

DSC_0044

CTS_Sketch_111Hi Friends,  I am back again with another set of 3 cards I made with my new SU Lotus Blossom set.  I jumped start this idea with this great Sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch. I decided to rotate the sketch and make a horizontal card this time. In addition to using the SU Papillion Potpourri butterfly stamp, I used a stamp from my the old Branching Out SU stamp set that is suppose to be used for leaves and or snow and thought it would work well for some splatter, and it did just that! Now here are the other 2 cards I made while I was at it. They are both self explanatory.

A Little Something

DSC_0061

ModSquadLogoMy good blogging friend Judy is hosting the challenge over at the Mod Squad so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to play along with her…now could I?  Paper Toling is what she calls this.  Let me explain, what Judy has challenged us to do is to take an image and stamp it at least 3 times, then cut smaller and smaller parts of that image and layer them on top of each other back together with foam tape.  Let me just say that this was harder for me then I thought it was going to be. My final card is my 3rd attempt and I am not over joyed with it either.  Have you ever not known when to quit when it comes to watercoloring or coloring in general?  That is what happened on this card.  I should have stopped when I was ahead. I started with just watercoloring and added a little prisma colored pencil over top.  The image is from Gina K Designs and sorry to say that it’s a retired set.  The sentiment is also Gina K and it’s from the set called Little Something.

Orange, Teal & BrownMy color inspiration came from the Fusion Challenge  photo. I chose to just do the photo this time and not the sketch.  I pulled the orange, brown, and green for my colors along with the flowers on the table for my card.

Have a wonderful week my friends, Nanc’

Freshly Made

DSC_0032

FMS174Hello Friends,  I had the chance to get creative this weekend, as my stash of cards is so depleted, and I came across this great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches as my starting point.  I also hadn’t had a chance to get my new SU stamp inky yet.  It’s called Lotus Bloom and I really LOVE it!  I am sure you have stumbled upon it somewhere, as it seems to be the newest and coolest from SU.  I was having so much fun that I decided to make 7 more…LOL.  Here are the other two that go with this color scheme…I will share the others very soon!  I have decided that it’s time to make more CAS cards, and I must say I do enjoy them very much, they use to intimidate me quite a bit.  On the above card I used my MFT stitched rectangles and my Fiskars Victorian blade to layer some paper for added interest.   The DP is from Provo Craft.

On my second card,  the butterfly is from SU called Papillon Potpourri and the Embossing folder is from SU. The sentiment is Verve’s Circular Sayings.

On the last card, the embossing folder is from Elizabeth Craft Designs, I used my MFT stitched rectangles again, and the sentiment accompanies the flower in the SU Lotus Bloom set.

It warms my heart when you stop by and leave such sweet comments,  Thanks isn’t enough! 🙂 Nanc’

I Can’t Thank You Enough!

Screen Shot 2015-01-18 at 1.11.02 PMHello Friends,  It’s time for Color Week over at Just Us Girls and Lisa has picked out a beautiful array of colors.  As you can see on the graphic we have 4 colors to choose from, you have to select at least 3, but are welcome to use all 4 if you desire. I used only 3 on my card.  I have been wanting to use this great SU set again called Stippled Blossoms and my son bought me that decorative stamp at the top of my card for Christmas and I finally found a way to use it on a card.  I think it’s so pretty, but it has had me puzzled for quite sometime.  It looks like a chandelier to me now that I see it used, so maybe I will try that idea on another card.  The sentiment is also from SU and is from the Chalk Talk set.

I am also linking my card up to the Thank You challenge they have going on over at Just Add Ink.Just Add Ink

I hope you get inspired by these great colors and join us this week over at Just Us Girls and remember if you win our Chic of the Week you could be selected as a future Guest Designer with us like Stephanie is this month.

Before I go I have to mention and show you that last weekend I had a fabulous opportunity to meet a fellow cardmaker and blogger that I had met online through Stamp TV.  Her and her hubby are on vacation in Florida and are staying so close, that we just had to take this opportunity to meet for the day.  She is such a sweetheart, as I knew she would be, and we sure didn’t lack for conversation.  What I think is so funny is that we share the same Birthdate, and while talking to one another we found other similarities of our lives as well.  Thanks Barbara for a wonderful day and I sure hope we get the opportunity to see one another again in the near future!  Here is a link to Barbara’s blog and you can go by and see her wonderful work as well and leave her some love!

Burlap at JUGS!

DSC_0405

DSC_0401 and another

Screen Shot 2015-01-18 at 1.05.14 PMHello Friends, Have we got an awesome Trend Challenge over at Just Us Girls, Ina had the brilliant idea to use burlap on our projects this week! Boy was this fun! I need to show you where my idea for this card came from…it is only the right thing to do.  I found this card on Pinterest probably a year or more ago and when I saw Ina’s challenge the idea hit me!  I got so excited! LOL  Here is the card!PTI-MIM7

Isn’t it the coolest card you have ever laid eyes on?  I LOVE it!  Now here are a few of my details:  The flowers I used are from Stampin Up.  The DP is Who Knows?  The grass die is from Impression Obsession and the Thank You sentiment is from Verve.  I put a belly band around my basket which I think worked well so the twine wouldn’t get lost. Some inking, distressing, pop dots, twine, pearls, and some hot glue to hold my burlap together and I was done. It was a very quick card and so fabulous to boot!  Sorry for tooting my own horn…but someone has to right?

Now head on over to Just Us Girls and see what my team and our Guest Designer Stephanie has done with their burlap…and while your there you might as well join us!

I am also going to link this up over at Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge blog where it’s Anything Goes. Untitled

Take care and Happy Valentine’s Day!  I have a fun day planned!  I am meeting up with a fellow card maker that I met online, that is ohhhhh so sweet and funny!  I am super excited. Pics to follow!  Then later on who knows what Hubby and I will do, but as long as we are together that is all that matters!  DH thinks Valentine’s Day is a Hallmark day anyhoo.  So no flowers or diamonds for me! 😉

Another Flutter Card!

TPE-ChallengeBanner

Hi Friends, I promise this will be the last card using my new  Fluttering Hearts Cover-Up from MFT! Well, at least for a little while…I do have an Anniversary on the Horizon….LOL.  I am entering this card in two challenges: The Verve’s Blog Inspiration Challenge and the Pink Elephant’s Be My Valentine challenge.  As soon as I saw the X’s and O’s on the Verve challenge photo I knew I wanted to incorporate my Verve Die Cut and coordinating Stamp Set called You and I along with my MFT Fluttering Hearts die.  It just so happens that my heart border punch die is Verve as well. My paper is from Stampin Up and Recollections.

Thanks for sticking with me through all these Valentine cards!  I promise that on Saturday I will have something so different and totally unrelated to Hearts! 🙂  Take care,  Nanc’

Hearts and or Arrows at STB

DSC_0416

STB ToppingsHi Friends,  Over at Seize the Birthday this time around we have a “Topping” option of Hearts and or Arrows.  I chose to do just hearts this time and to make a tall and skinny card!  Remember, our topping is an option and not a requirement…you can always join us with any Birthday card and or project!  Here are a couple of quick details: I stamped my cards on SU glossy paper, and that is why they look sort of light in spots.  Not quite what I expected, but I think it looks okay.  The pennants are made with Washi tape. The sentiment is from Verve.  The border punch is one of my favorites from Martha Stewart. Added some buttons and hearts and I was done! Hope you come by STB and join us sometime in the next two weeks, we would love to have you!  You have to come by and at least see what my talented team has done!  Incredibly versatile for sure!  See you there!

Take care, Nanc’

More LOVE!

DSC_0008

kissing boothHello Again,  Yes this card is very similar to a previous post of a week or so ago, but I am hooked on this awesome heart template from MFT what can I say. I also wanted to sneak in under the wire and link up to the challenge going on at Curtain Call. I do not own any kissing stamps, however my card was inspired by the colors of the banners in the photo!  Lights and darks combined.  Here is a little bit about this die.  The Fluttering Hearts Cover-Up is a beautiful and inventive Die-namics that will cut a four by six grid of hearts, leaving the centerlines intact. It is so much fun and I am so glad I got it! The letters were cut out on my Big Shot using dies from SU. The small hearts are made with a punch.

Hope you have a wonderful day and just a warning you may see this die cut once or twice again! 😉
