Happy First Birthday!

DSC_0023

Aug15DIHGraphicHello Friends,  I have been eyeing the Verve August Inspiration photo the entire month and I am cutting it very close, as it is already the 30th of August!  Can you believe it?  Where on the earth has this year gone!  Anyways, it has been a very crazy month here in the Leppek household. The moving trucks have left and my house echoes like crazy, but it is all good thing!  My son is on his way to his new life in Seattle,Washington working at Amazon and hubby and I are adjusting to it being just the two of us once again.  I can’t say I didn’t shed any tears when he left, but I am doing fine now!  Well, until I find another sweet sticky note Ty has left me, hiding around the house.  One of my favorites said this, ” I take home wherever I go, it’s filled with all the memories, laughter and tears of the last 23 years.”   Now, tell me you wouldn’t have cried when you read that?  I am one very lucky mother!  Okay, back to the real reason you are here!  Because life has been so busy, I took the liberty to CASE myself once again.  I was invited to a 1 year old’s birthday party yesterday and this is the card I created for sweet Violet!  In hind site, I wish I would have made it violet instead of pink, but I still had the extra pink ornaments and a pink Emery elephant already made in my stash that saved me some time.  Here is the original card.  I think using the Christmas Ornaments as a mobile and or decorations is a super way of using those Christmas Stamps year round.

Few Card Details: The decorations were made with a Verve Christmas set called Holly Jolly Christmas.  Little Emery the paper pieced elephant is also from Verve.  The sentiment is half Verve (Happy) and Half Gina K.(Birthday).  The dots EF is Stampin UP.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Nanc’

Wild Card Sketch!

DSC_0488

Screen Shot 2015-07-06 at 3.52.46 PMHello Friends,  I am hosting this week over at Just Us Girls and it’s the 5th Saturday of the month, which means it’s Wild Card Week, and I decided it’s past time for a sketch challenge!  We also need to say farewell and thanks to our wonderful Guest Designer for this month Karen Bourke.  We sure do appreciate you being with us!

Here are a few details:  The large label stamp is from Gina K and the butterfly punches are from Stampin Up.  I do believe the sentiment if from Verve….but I am not 100% sure.  Paper is this and that from my stash!

Hope you stop by Just Us Girls and see what my team has done with this sketch!  Take care! Nancy

CASE (ing) Myself!

DSC_0016

Screen Shot 2015-07-21 at 2.44.37 PMHello Friends,  Today’s card is a CASE of myself as it is the first week of school for me and I am bone tired and my son is moving to Seattle Washington (insert major sad face with tears).  Ty and I have a very special and unique relationship, and to say this is going to be a major adjustment for me is probably an understatement. He is going to go to work for Amazon’s corporate office and they are even offering him an awesome relocation package. He leaves very soon and there has been so much to do.  I’m not having to lift a finger, he is so self sufficient for a 22 year old and I couldn’t be more proud of him. I do have an important job though, I have been assigned the task to lay awake at night and think of all the things he can take with him or may have forgotten to ask about on previous phone conversations with the movers.  So I decided, Nancy you don’t have time to think of something new to make, so why not CASE yourself…so I did!

Below is a photo of my previous card and the link for more info!

dsc_0049Hate to make this short…but it’s late and it’s been a long week!  Come on over to Just Us Girls and see what our Guest Designer Karen and the team came up with!

Take care and remember if my blog is quiet over the next two weeks…. I am either soaking my back and feet in the tub after a long day at work or I am spending every possible minute I can with my amazing son before he leaves to the other side of the continent!  Nanc’

Color Week with a Sketch

DSC_0014

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 12.59.43 PMHello Friends,  It’s the last week of summer break and it’s raining outside…..what!  Oh well, I decided to make the best of it and go to my studio and make this week’s card for Just Us Girls. It’s color week and the colors are Red, White, and Grey.  I must say I am not in love with this card.  I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different when I came across the sketch below.  I don’t do well with tons of white space, right about now, I think my comfort zone is just fine. LOL

I am also linking this card up over at CAS(E) this Sketch, which is where all my inspiration began. However, my sentiment is not quite where it was suppose to be but I hope it will be okay!   Card details:  The stencil is from Heidi Swapp, the leaves and the cool double scallop die is from Verve, and the sentiment is SU.

Anything that Flies

DSC_0012STB ToppingsHello Friends,  Well I am going to try to make this short and sweet as I am a little far behind on life and commitments due to a few days of Birthday Celebrations.  I turned the big 5-0 on Monday and it’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be, but please you don’t have to tell anyone, if you don’t want to!  LOL   Over the last few days I have been showered with beautiful homemade cards, an over night say at a beautiful Orlando Resort, new golf clubs, breakfast- lunch and dinners out, an outing of golf, massages, boo-coos of FB-birthday messages and more!  All in all it was a great day! Feeling blessed!

Now onto the reason you stopped by….. Today over at Seize the Birthday it’s time for our new two week challenge!  This time around our optional topping is ” Anything that Flies.”  If you don’t feel much like using the topping, you don’t have to, all you have to do is make sure your card and or project is for a Birthday.  I sure hope you fly on over and see what my talented teammates did with this topping!

Here are a few card details:  The kite die is from MFT, the clouds are Lawn Fawn, the sentiment is from Verve, the corners are a SU punch, and the EF is from Cuttlebug.

I am also linking my card up to a brand new challenge that I’m thrilled I stumbled upon, which is where my color palette came from, it’s called-Pinterest Inspired Challenge.

Here is there graphic and inspiration photo.

Gate Fold with a Tag!

DSC_0006Hello Friends,  I have a quick post of you today!  I have been eyeing two posts this week, the first is the Tag You’re It challenge where they have this adorable tag to inspire you (seen below) and the second is the Mod Squad challenge where my friend Barbara wants us to make a gate-fold card.  Not sure why I don’t make these more often, love the look of them.  I think these two challenges worked well together!  I have a basket on my desk in my studio of newly acquired stuff, and this cute little giraffe has been poking his head out and staring me down for quite sometime now, so I finally obliged and got him inky.  Do you have your new stuff out somewhere in your creative space so that you don’t forget about it?  Or is this something only this crazy lady does?  I am curious!

Here are a few details and then I have to run!  Grass- MFT, Specs are SU- from a retired Branching Out set, sentiment is from Verve’s- Love Notes set.

Here is a photo of the card opened so you can tell it is indeed a gate-fold card.

DSC_0009It’s my (Milestone) Birthday today  50 YIKES and hubby and I are going to spend the day in Sarasota having lunch with our son Tyler, then hang out at a gorgeous Marina, and then meet back up with Ty after he gets out of work and go out for drinks and dinner too.   Have a great day and I so appreciate you stopping by! Trend Week-Vellum

DSC_0168

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 1.18.28 PMHello Friends,  It’s Saturday so you know what that means.  It’t time for this week’s challenge over at Just Us Girls.  On a side note, when you read this post I will hopefully be away for my (Monumental) Pre-Birthday weekend getaway, lathered up with sunscreen and floating around the lazy river at the Omni Resort in Orlando. Can’t wait! The only sad note is my Son Tyler won’t be able to join us as was previously planned. He asked me about a month ago what I wanted for my Birthday. My request was no gifts, just for us to go away as a family, where he wasn’t allowed to do any work of any kind.  He works way to much and needs a break worst then any of us.  I can’t explain why he isn’t coming currently,  but he has a very, very good reason. It’s been an interesting summer!  I was bummed to say the least, but I will still get to see him for dinner on my actual birthday.  Anyways, that was more info then you bargained for I am sure!  Today’s card is something I did a few weeks ago.  I hope in the photo you can actually see that I actually did use some vellum. I used my very first Die-cut that I purchased from MFT many years ago, it’s called Leafy Flourish incase you can’t see it very well. It’s a must have for sure!  The background butterflies are from Gina K, the flower is SU, and the sentiment is from Verve.  I was doing emboss resist a few weeks back and was having so much fun that I decided to make another card.  So if the back panel looks somewhat familiar, you know why. Come on over and join us, I know you have some vellum laying around that you are dying to use!

I so appreciate you stopping in to check on me!  Have a great day! Nanc’

Finally Christmas!

DSC_0248Hello Friends,  My first Christmas card for this year…WooHoooooo!  I am so behind the eight ball!  When summer started I told hubby I was going to do all my Christmas cards this summer…bahahahhaha!  Like that happened, along with cleaning all the blinds in the entire house.  Well, there is always Thanksgiving break. LOL  As soon as I saw the 5th and final sketch over at Viva La Verve, I knew I was going to turn it into a Christmas card.  The DP is from Stampin Up and the center ornament is a die cut that I am fortunate enough to have at my school.  I decided to use the Verve stamp Set Pinecone Christmas and heat emboss the pointsettias. The sentiment is also from the same set.  The double bow die cuts are also from my school. I am linking this card up to Merry Monday Christmas Challenge where they asked us to use Pastel Colors on our card.  I hope the Bermuda bay color doesn’t disqualify me.

Hope you are further ahead of your Christmas cards than I am!  If not, what are your waiting for!  Take care,  Nanc’

Summer Fun

DSC_0255Hello Friends,  My card this time has nothing to do with rain and everything to do with what Summer is suppose to look like.  I sure hope the weather man has it right, as the rest of this week we are suppose to actually start looking like the sunshine state once again.  Today’s card is a little on the unusual side but will make more sense when you scroll down and see how well it matches up with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I am also linking it up to Stamp TV’s Make it Monday Summer Challenge hosted by my sweet friend Sharyn.  The sentiment is from Verve’s Take Note set and the sandcastle is something I picked up at a stamp store in Lakeland.  Images colored with Spectrum Noir pens, Lawn fawn clouds and some glitter sand too! I so appreciate you stopping by!

Have a sandsational day! Nanc’
