Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

DSC_0187

Screen Shot 2015-09-12 at 3.57.04 PMHello Friends,  Sorry I went all week without posting anything new!  I have been sick for what is going on 15 days now and it’s been all I can do to muster up enough energy to go to work everyday, minus yesterday that is…I went back to the doctor instead.  To not bore you with all the details, I have to have some more tests next week to get to the bottom of all this sickness.  I have had a rough year so far and I know being around the youngins can be tough, however this is my 7 illness since February and things have got to change! Anyways, enough of my woe is me!   I did enjoy making this one layer card that my good friend Sharyn has asked us to do this week over at Just Us Girls for our Wild Card Week. One layer is tough for me, but once I got started I really enjoyed it!  Having a resident artist in the house can be a good thing and a bad thing, I told him I wanted to cast a shadow underneath my ornaments like I see all over blog land all the time….but I think he took me literally and more in an actual artist shadow if you know what I mean.  I kinda wanted a less obvious one…but anyhow I didn’t want to hurt his feelings during my lesson and I just went with it.  I decided to add the little ink edging around the card at the last minute. This stamp set is from Verve and I just love it!  It’s called Holly Jolly Christmas and I would have linked it up for you, but sadly it’s no longer available.

Before I go I need to thank our Guest Designer Julie for being with us over at Just Us Girls.  You did an incredible job this month Julie!  If you want to have the possibility of being a GD with us in the future, all the details can be found over at Just Us Girls.

Addicted to Stamps and MoreI am going to link up my card to the Holiday Challenge they have going on over at Addicted to Stamps Challenge blog!
Happy Halloween. Hubby and I are headed to the movies tonight, I hope!  Nanc’

You’re on my mind…

DSC_0082

FMS209Hello Friends,  I’m back today with a card based on the sketch over at Freshly Made.  This card was fun to put together.  I first took my Stamplorations script stamp and gently stamped the white card base with black stazon.  Then used my favorite MFT rectangle dies and cut out the the center panel.  Then I stamped my image and colored it with prisma colored pencils.  Then put the panels back together just like on the sketch.  My sentiment, from Verve, looked better on the right side and not dead center under the flowers, I sure hope that is okay.  I really like how quick and easy this card came together with decent results!

Thanks for coming by, your comments mean the world to me!  Nanc’

Screen Shot 2015-09-12 at 3.40.34 PMHello Friends,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Photo Week and to be perfectly honest, this one was kinda tough for me!  Whatever the road block was, I finally thought of something to do late last night, once I started focusing on the layout of the shelves in the photo. Just in the nick of time, I might add.  I have had this awesome vinyl polka dotted paper for a very long time and so glad I finally put it to use.  I used my Creative Memories hexagon punch and the sentiment is from Verve. I was finished with the card, and about to take my photo, when I thought the flowers needed a little more pop.  That is when I decided to add the dots and I am glad I did.

Hope you come on over to Just Us Girls and join us.  Ina the hostess, and the Design team, along with our Guest Designer Julie seemed to have no problem with the photo. Come on over and have a look.  Who knows you may get selected as our Chic of the Week!

Happy Creating,  Nanc’

Pocket Card at STB!

DSC_0134

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’s time again for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and our topping this time around is to make a pocket card.  I took the challenge quite literally as you will see in the photo. LOL  I have had this denim paper by Creative Memories for so long and knew it would be perfect for this card.  I saw a card like this over on Pinterest so very long ago and thought it was oh so very clever! Here is a photo of the card that inspired me, however the link to the card didn’t actual work.  Although, her name and website is on the photo.  I like to give credit to the people and their projects that inspire me.  I also wish to say thanks to Anita in France for being with us as our Special Birthday Guest over at STB…we sure are enjoying having you with us!

Card Details: The flower stamps are from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Verve. I used a tag punch which is also Stampin Up and the leaves are a MS punch. Some pop dots to make the actual pocket and some ribbon and bling to finish it off.

Have a wonderful day and please come by and check out what my fabulous teammates did with the pocket challenge at Seize the Birthday!

Beautiful You!

DSC_0160

CTS_145Hello Friends,  I have a quick post along with a quick card for you today!  This card was inspired by this great sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to play along!  The stamp I am using is something I picked up at Michaels and the YOU is made with those alphabet stamps that I am sure everyone, who is a stamper, has in their collection.  The hearts are both made from punches.  The large double dies are from Spellbinders (I do believe).

Have a terrific day,  Nanc’

Black, Orange and Purple

DSC_0156

Screen Shot 2015-09-12 at 3.37.40 PMHello Friends,  It’s Color Week over at Just Us Girls and the colors Chris picked out for us this week tend to make you think of Halloween this time of year.  I decided since I am not much of a Halloween person, I would take the colors and make a sympathy card that I was in need of for a good friend.  I also was excited to ink up this gorgeous stamp set I just got a couple weeks ago.  I am still a work in progress when it comes to coloring but I refuse to give up!

If you decide to join us over  Just Us Girls  you just might be chosen as our Chic of the Week and then onto being asked to be a future guest designer with us.

11898630_1000400646650752_2814737746056979183_nI am also linking my card up over at CAS-ual Chic where they have a Tic- Tac- Toe challenge going on and  I chose the center horizontal row of Coloring, Spritzing, and Die-Cutting.  Then over at Addicted to Stamps and More, where it’s anything goes. Addicted to Stamps and More

Card Details: Stamps-Stampendous; Bouquet for You, prisma colored pencils and I also decided to splatter my background as well.  Love that simple technique that adds such a great punch!

See ya,  Nanc’

Colour Me Orange

DSC_0136

CMCC Full Graphics-015Hello Friends,  I am back today just in the knick of time to enter this card in the Colour Me challenge  I struggle with the color orange and I wanted to prove to myself that I could come up with something rather quickly and be happy with it. I had the chevron piece of washi tape already mounted on the white cardstock laying out on my desk and I used that as my starting of point. The butterfly and background leaves are from Gina K Designs, the script background is from Stampibilities , and the sentiments are from a new stamp set I recently got from Stampendous called a Bouquet For You.

Hope you are having a wonderful day! Nanc’

FMS207I am back again! I know, two posts in one day, that is a rarity!  I saw this sketch over at Freshly Made and I had to play along.  I love sketches that have panels!  So while I still had all my supplies and paper out from my last post, I thought why not use them again.  Now I have three Christmas Cards done!  Woohooooo!  This girl is on fire! LOL  I yet again used the Verve Christmas stamp set called Pinecone Christmas for my card.  I also, have used a sticker once again for my sentiment.  If you missed my last post, I won this awesome sticker sheet of sentiments at my local Stamping store and didn’t want them to go to waste!  I again, have a piece of SU silver dotted vellum paper on one of my panels underneath my snowflake.  The poinsettia flowers are heat embossed.

Thanks for dropping in!  See you tomorrow! Nanc’

Love, Joy and Peace

DSC_0127 (1)

Mojo418SketchHello Friends,  Today’s card is the second Christmas Card I have made so far this year…..Whoop Woo!  I am on a roll! In all seriousness, I better get a move on!  I had a really hard time getting this photo to do the card justice.  I promise you the card looks better then this photo portrays. As soon as I saw the Mojo Monday sketch I knew I wanted to use a Verve Christmas stamp set called Pinecone Christmas for my card.  I also, have used a sticker for a sentiment….which may be a first for me.  I don’t recall ever doing this before, but I have these really cool sentiment stickers that I won over at our local Stampin store that I hate to waste.  Did I ever show you my load of stuff I won?  I was the grand prize winner at The Paper Inn’s open house.  When she called me I was shocked to say the least.  The owner  Marjorie is a sweetheart and I wish her many, many years of success! The paper pack was a door prize I won that day as well and it’s by Anna Griffin and it’s gorgeous!  I added a polka dotted SU vellum sheet to the front layer of the paper for added interest.  Again, the photo isn’t flattering to this card.

Thanks for dropping in, I will be back later today or tomorrow with another card!  Nancy

Stencils!

DSC_0542

Screen Shot 2015-09-12 at 3.49.03 PMHello Friends,  It’s time for Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and I am the hostess with the mostess this week.  The trend I chose that never seems to get old or go out of style is using Stencils on your card and or project.  It can be a little or just a touch, the choice is yours.  This card was a CASE (well, I pretty darn well just copied it, I loved it so much!) of this beautiful card below and I wanted to give credit where credit was due.  Here is a link to Barbara’s blog!  MFTCPC20_2015ap23_thumb2I wish it was an original design, but not this time!  I sure hope you join me and my fabulous team and our GD Julie Gearinger! over at JUGS this week, and remember if your chosen as our Chic of the Week you are in the running as a possible guest designer with us in the month of January.  Best of luck and hope to see you there!  A few card details: Stencil is from Heidi Swapp, Daisy flowers and large leaves are a Sizzix die. The one lilac flower base is a SU punch, with another generic punch on top. The delicate floral is from MFT.  The sentiment tag is a Spellbinders die (I do believe.)

Have a wonderful day!  We are having some friends over to watch FSU beat Miami! Go Noles!  Nanc’
