With Sympathy…

Hello, Hope you are having a great day and you are squeezing in some creative time this weekend! We have a fabulous photo for you this week at Just Us Girls. If it doesn’t spark some creativity, nothing will!  I have been in the need of many Sympathy cards as of late and unfortunately have attended three funerals just in the last month. I sure hope that the tide will change and that will be it for a very long time.  My last one was a just a few nights ago and it shook me more than normal, I was a weepy mess.  I am not going to go into the sad details of my young friend’s passing, but what I will say is, if you are sick for a long period of time, PLEASE, PLEASE go for a second and third opinion if necessary before you are missed diagnosed and it becomes too late. 😦

The card above is heat embossed and watercolored.  The stamp and sentiment is SU.

Texture

Today’s topping over at Seize the Birthday is “Texture”, which was such a great idea thought up by my fellow DT member- Cathy, and one we haven’t done before.  I have had this card on my desktop for eons by the talented Debbie Olson and I thought this would be a perfect time to CASE it. So when I was ready to get down to work, I went searching for my felt and of course couldn’t find it anywhere.  Don’t you just hate when you know you have something and you can’t pinpoint its location?  Anyhoozal,  I decided to replace the felt with this really rough glitter paper that has been sitting on my desk waiting patiently for some love.  I bought it for a kindness award that I was giving out at school and couldn’t dare part with the leftover scraps, it has tons of texture and I knew it would do the trick! The flowers are MFT and the background was sponged with Oxide Inks.  The leaves are a SU punch.

Before I run off, I would like to say a final thank you to Tenia for being such a super surprise Party Guest!  It’s been a pleasure having you with us and we so appreciate you always joining us in our gallery at STB!

With Much Love….

Hello, I hope your day is off to a good start! It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Maria has a happy color palette for you to try! I just want to clarify that my hibiscus are in fact a deep orange and not red as they appear to be. I used two different colors of orange for this card. They actually match my background paper nearly perfect in real life. I really love this set from Stampin Up called Tropical Chic, it always stamps so well and never disappoints!

You are Loved!

Hello,  Hope you are having a great day! Angie is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls and she came up with a very fun and unique Trend Challenge for us this week. It’s called off the edge. I wish I would have thought of it! Great job Angie! My SU flowers were made out of alcohol inks, the leaves are a SU punch, tag is Verve, and the sentiment is from SSS.  I am pretty happy with the way this card came together and so quickly at that.  As you can tell, I cut down my card base a bit so that my tag could hang off the edge.

Happy Birthday You are Loved!

 

Hello,  Hope you are having a great day so far!  We have another challenge beginning over at Seize the Birthday and it’s time for Anything Goes.  Just remember it must be a Birthday theme.  I will confess I have had this card on my computer desktop for quite some time just waiting to be posted. I stenciled the background with my Oxide inks, the flowers and scalloped rectangles are MFT, the sentiment is a bit of this and that. I used wink of Stella all over the flowers, but it’s not noticeable in the picture.

Houses

Hello,  Seems like forever since I posted last as the last few weeks were pre-scheduled posts.  This is me coming at you LIVE…LOL.  I am back from my second trip, this one was to California to visit my son and daughter in law.  They spoiled Dave and I rotten and we got to see quite a lot. I am still reeling from all the fun we had and saying goodbye is always the tough part.  I always cry quite a lot on the plane ride home (lack of sleep doesn’t help) and then for a few days off and on, but now that I am back to work, back to a routine, I have sucked it up and I am good to go. LOL. Until next time anyway.

Today’s card is for Just Us Girls and the word is Houses.  It just so happens that I needed a Congrats on your new home card for my nephew, so the timing was perfect. Here are a few details….First, I took my Oxide inks and blended my background, next I cut out the house die (from Taylored Expressions), sun and clouds( from Lawn Fawn) and the rectangle frame and sentiment(from SU.) Put it all together and I was done.

Below are a couple pics from our trip.  Tyler surprised us for our 27th Anniversary and took us to see Hamilton.  It was sensational!!  The ice cream picture was also in San Fran.
