Another JUGS Inspiration!

I still had all the colors from my last JUGS card all over my crafting table

and a co-worker asked me to make a”Girly” College Graduation card for her…..

so what else screams Girly then; Pink and Bling!

So here is another card that goes right along with my

Hostess challenge over at Just Us Girls!

It looks very similar to some of my latest work!

IMG_0003

Please won’t you play along…I would love if you would!

There is still time!

I am also linking this up to a new site I stumbled

upon called ABC Challenges.

feminine card. I chose the latter!

It has been 16 years since my mom has passed

and I still miss her as if it was yesterday!

I don’t believe I have even made a Mother’s Day card since.

Take care,

Nancy

Hip Hip Hooray….summer is on it’s way!

This card was tough to put together….it was just one of those days when nothing you tried quite worked exactly liked you had planned.

I found myself taping and glueing and then taking it apart, ripping it and then trying to do it again…with the same results!

I am sure you have had one of those days before….at least I hope so!

I almost tossed the entire card, but refrained so here it is!

Don’t look to closely….major flaws everywhere!

Beach Ball was made by hand!  Boy was it tough cutting out that Bikini top! LOL

both by the Design Team and the players!

A Different Sketch…

Second Post for the day so…..

If you are looking for CAS on Sunday…Please Scroll Down

As soon as I laid eyes on this sketch over at CAS(E) this week, I knew I wanted to play along.

The first thing that came to mind is this great tree stamp that I have

that I haven’t used in quite a while from Verve.

Then I went looking for a color challenge, and I didn’t have to go far.

I went right to my reliable Dynamic Duos, and then the creativity began.

Hosting @ Just Us Girls and More…

JUGS+186

I am thrilled to be your HOSTESS this week for my first hosting job as part

of the Design team at Just Us Girls.

When I realized my first challenge was going to be a photo challenge,

I immediately thought of pink and black (my favs) and hopped on over to google images.

After just a couple of seconds, I found these two photos that I knew would be perfect!

I picked two images so that you might have a few choices.

You may either get inspirations from the color pallet and take that route,

reproduce some flowers like I have done,

or you may be intrigued by the damask pattern on the purse.

 You decide!

IMG_0014

Now the details:  I used my spectrum Noir pens and colored the BACK of my flowers

after I heat embossed them on Vellum with white embossing powder.

LOVE this look!

I first saw this technique over at Driven to Ink blog….a few years ago.

Over at the Pink Elephant that is the challenge this week… to “Lift” or “Case” a card or technique.

TPE-ChallengeBanner2

So I chose the Technique of Embossing and Coloring on Vellum!

So, I will also be linking this card to their challenge as well as

over at Addicted to CAS.

My second entry!

ATCAS - code word flower

They asked us to use flowers.

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

I’m THRILLED to have hosted the fun with Just Us Girls, this week…

PLEASE  WON’T  YOU JOIN THE GIRLS AND I !!

Can’t wait to see what you link up!

10 Minute & One layer

The other day as I was going around to my favorite blogs that I love to follow and I came across this new challenge site called 10 Minute Craft Dash.

As I was looking at the DT’s wonderful examples, I thought there is no way this girl can make a card in 10 minutes…10 hours yes….but not 10 minutes! LOL….

Well, all week I have been going back an revisiting this site and figured…how you going to know unless you try.  So try I did!

ImageI DID IT!!!

9 minutes and 46 seconds!

CD_16

pp142

I would have to say that having a timer sitting next to you is a little nerve racking, and I hope I didn’t cheat because I had everything laid out ready to go ahead of time.

I don’t think I would call this a complete success, as I am not sure yet what I think of the card.  Yes, I made it in under 10 minutes but, not with out some major bumps along the way.

The sentiment got rocked and has a shadow,(hate that) the chalk was suppose to just go on the embossed image and not on the background but, that didn’t work so well.

So at the last minute I decided to chalk up the background very lightly to cover my mistakes.

I was going for a softer feel!

So what do you think?

Sometimes I look at it and think it’s kinda cool and then other times I think it looks like a card I made in 10 minutes.

I must say though…it was fun using my chalks again!

I forgot how much I enjoy that art medium.

You can’t tell in the photo, but I also used my scor-pal

and put a dividing line between the image and the sentiment.

I am also linking this card up to the Paper Players…One Layer Challenge!

I think I have only made a total of 3 One layer cards before….it is a big challenge for me!

Now, have I inspired you to see if you can meet either of  these challenges?

Good Luck!

Thanks for stopping in!

Chase the clouds away….

Hello Crafty Friends,

It’s my turn to post a project for April’s Stamp Challenge over at the

Crafty Card Gallery and this is what I have in store!

For this challenge we we’re asked to either use a stamp set that’s been sitting on our desk a while,

something you bought and forgot about, or your most recent purchase.

Well,  My card today has a mixture of all 3.

IMG_0017

First, The Umbrella stamp I decided I have had for at least 8 years.

The Washi tape under the green paper is something that was sitting on my desk and

I had yet to put it away.

Finally, The sentiment on this card is new!  It is from Close To My Heart…..and I love it.

The stamp set is called Card Chatter- Sympathy Occasions… and I highly recommend it.

The inside of the card reads…..”and chase the clouds away!”

Made the clouds myself and the scallop is a Die cut from MFT.

The green umbrella was paper pieced.

  Have a great day!

ATCAS - code word flower

Hello Friends,

Hope you had a great Monday!

Today’s card didn’t take long to whip up and it’s for this week’s

Dynamic Duos Black and Gray challenge along with the

Code-Word Flower over at Addicted to CAS.

I am not sure you can tell in the photo, but the DP has a gray pattern mixed with creme.

Creme, white, or kraft are the approved colors you may add to the

Dynamic Duos color pairs for the week.

Recipe:

The Cardstock is Stampin up.

The DP is from DCWV.

The stamp is from a stamp store in St. Augustine,

that I have had for years!

The sentiment is CTMH.

Add a ribbon and Gems and you are all set!

So glad you stopped by for a bit!

Make sure you stop by both the Dynamic Duos and Addicted to CAS if

you are looking for great challenges!

Happy Craftin,

Nancy

You Are In My Prayers

I have a very simple card for you today that is for

this week’s Fusion Challenge.

If you have never heard of this site it is very new and very unique!

You have your choice…we all love choices right!

You can either follow the sketch or the photo inspiration separately,

Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.

fusion3

I elected to Fuse them together this week!

This is what I came up with!

IMG_0009

The colors in the photo didn’t come out as deep as they actually are.

The ribbon is more of a dark pink and not maroon as it appears.

The stem of the Flower is from Stampin’ UP ( one of the first stamp sets I ever purchased).

The flower is from Verve!

The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.

The DP is from Colorbok.

Hope you have a great start to your work week!

Happy Creating,

Nancy

JUGS Color Challenge and a Birthday Shout Out!

Jugs Challenge and A Special Happy Birthday

Good Day Crafty Friends!

This week’s Color Challenge over at JUGS is

hosted by the talented Marisa.

She has picked out a great color palette for us to work with!

JUGS185

It seems like when Spring rolls around I am always in need of Baby Shower gifts.

Most of the time I like to give my expectant mothers a gift card,

so that they may purchase what they want and

the dad can be a part of picking out something for his new baby as well.

Don’t you think those poor dads get left out sometimes?

So that is how this Gift-card holder came to be.

IMG_0017

It is on it’s way to Michigan for my nephew’s wife’s baby shower!

I left out the Walmart Gift-card itself for the photo because it

was blue and didn’t match my card.

I couldn’t believe they had no pink gift cards!

Here is a peek at the inside of the card.

IMG_0012

My Birthday Shout Out goes to a fellow JUGS  Design Team member Lisa!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!

Hope it’s one of the best one’s ever!!!

Here is a card I made in honor of your birthday!

IMG_0022

This card really needs no explanation….the sentiment is from Close to My Heart and the balloons were

made using either a circle punch or my Creative Memories circle cutter… adhered with some pop dots!

They look like they are floating…don’t they?

So…..

The rest of the JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.

Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the

JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week.

See you there!
