Sending Birthday Wishes

Hello, I hope your day is off to a good start. I am still very much enjoying the new Build a Wreath dies from Spellbinders and Suzanne Hue’s. The possibilities with these sets are simply endless. Also, the stems and leaves in this set make it so easy to form a perfect wreath! For today’s Fall-inspired card, I had not yet used the pretty flowers and bow that came in this set, so that is what I have done here. Of course, I had to squeeze a bit of Autumn Wonders in as well. How could I not?

Few Card Details: The flowers and bow were all sponged for dimension using various inks. The sentiment is a BP set called Sentiments of Wonder that was foiled in gold. Had to add some bling with the Autumn Wonders stems and gold tips. Then I got the great idea to trim the bow in gold as well. Of course, no card is complete without my gold paper gems. This is one of those cards where when you pull it out of the envelope, fluffing of the flowers is required.

My card was inspired by the Color Throwdown as the colors are so gorgeous together. Along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the row; Wreath, Free, and Enamel Dots. It also works diagonally with Metallic, Free, and Leaves/Foilage.

Sending You a Tweet Hello

A Tweet Hello, I am the hostess this week at Just Us Girls and what I have for you for Clean and Simple Week is to just use the center of your card. Easy, right? I thought it was time to pull out some of my older MFT stamps and do a bit of coloring. This set is called A Tweet Hello. The branch that I used is from Memory Box and is called Lavish Branch Die. The heart stencil was made from MFT stitched dies. I used Prismas, Oxide Inks, and Copics for my mediums.

Before I go, I want to thank Bonnie for being such a fabulous guest over at Just Us Girls this month, we have enjoyed having you immensely! Take care!

Hope you will come by and check out the cards by the DT and Bonnie and play along! Nanc’

Hello There

Hello there! Happy Friday! I am back today with two Clean and Simple cards using a very pretty die-cut from Spellbinder’s October release called Sunflower Serenade. As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to have to add it to my collection. I have certainly become more of a die-cut cardmaker than I am a stamper these days. It’s funny how this hobby evolves and your style changes over time. I also used the sentiment from the Better Press set called Sunflower Bouquet, which also came out this month, but I chose to heat foil it this time. That is what I love about the BP plates, you can foil them too!

Here are the cards by themselves.

Card Details: The DSP is from Stampin Up, and the Elliptical Oval Dies are my fav from Spellbinders. I used my Fiskars cutter to do my decorative edge on card one. The sentiment is from a Better Press set called Sunflower Bouquet and it was foiled instead of pressed. I cut my sunflowers out in white and tripled them for more depth. I then used a blending brush with Peacock Feathers Oxide Ink to make them come to life. I was trying to match the flowers in the DSP, but I think I got a bit heavy-handed. Of course, I had to add my paper gold embellishments.

I have the Spellbinder products linked below.

Add a Sky

Hello, It’s the last Thursday of the month and time for a new Topping over at Seize the Birthday. Vicki is our hostess and she chose Add a Sky for our Topping. Easy one, right! Before I get to my card details, I want to thank Stephanie for being with us these past two months as this is her last card with us. However, I also want to welcome Linda as well. She was the winner of our last challenge using the Topping. Thanks for everything, ladies. I appreciate you!

Card Details: MFT-Watercolor Wash Rectangle and Clouds, Stamp Set is from Mama Elephant-Dandelion Wishes. Oxide Inks, Copics, and Prisma Colored Pencils.

This is the first time I used this stamp set, as it was gifted to me, so I am linking up with Darnell over at NBUS!

I hope you will pop on over to Seize the Birthday and join us! We have some truly beautiful cards to inspire you! Remember, our Topping is always optional, any birthday card will do.

Take care, Nanc’

Happy Halloween

Hello friends, I am back today as promised with more cards using the fabulous Build a Wreath Collection from Spellbinders and Suzanne Hue. I purchased the Halloween Wreath Ad-Ons very soon after the release, as I fell in love with them and just had to add them to my collection. Rest assured, I will be getting the Birthday set as well. I just had such a good time making these cards and getting lost in paper and forgetting about life for just a little while.

A Few Details: Both cards have lots of shading using Oxide Inks and blending brushes. I used Nuvo Clear Drops to make all the candy shine. The Autumn Serenade 3D-EF on the Mini Slimline is also new this month at Spellbinders. It is so pretty and so very large. I decided to use the d-embossed side of the background panel as I liked how it looked when I came back over it with Black Oxide Ink. I put some foam squares between the light-colored paper and the Jack-O-Lantern so it would appear that the pumpkin had been carved. Yana taught me that trick!

Here are both cards by themselves. The first one is a mini slimline, which is my favorite size to make when it comes to this type of card. I like to make mine 3 x 6 as they fit in a standard business envelope.

This next card is nearly a perfect square but actually measures 5 1/2 x 5. When I was putting the colored stripes onto a plain white piece of cardstock I made it a wee too small and had to improvise. I don’t like waste so I just went with it. I really love the witch hat so much in this set!

I am linking up my slimline card with the Double D Challenge where their theme is Pumpkins.

Season’s Greetings

Hello, I hope your day is off to a good start! I am super excited to share with you more from the new October release from Spellbinders. In fact, I am using two new fabulous products on today’s card, by Suzanne Hue. One is called Build a Wreath and the other is Christmas Wreath Ad-Ons. They also have a Garden set, a Birthday set, and a Halloween set as well. I already purchased the Halloween set as I just had to have it and I have my eye on the Birthday set as well! You will be seeing the Halloween set soon!

I really love the color combo I have for you today. That is one thing about Pinterest that is super helpful is looking for color combos. In my opinion, three colors in various tones is the way to go when designing a card, but you could definitely do less. I am really happy with how this card turned out.

As you can see, I used two color tones of green to first build my wreath. Next, I built my poinsettias and snowflakes and then used some white paint splatters to give the look of snow. Then, I shaded some of my dies with SSS ink and a blending brush. I had to add some bling to my card so I used the stems from Autumn Wonder. The sentiment I have used is included in the Christmas Wreath Add-Ons and I love that it comes with an outline. I have used some Foam Squares for height underneath my snowman.

Here is a close-up of my cute dapper snowman!

I am playing along with the Inkspirational Challenge for their Word Prompt of Cold.

Fall Birthday

Hello, It’s Photo/Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and we certainly have been embracing all things Fall this month over there. Ina has a gorgeous color palette and photo for you to be inspired by. I had a great time making this card for a friend who just had her birthday.

Card Details: Pumpkin is from Papertrey Ink, the Flowers, and leaves are retired from SU. I also used Autumn Wonder for my gold-tipped stems. The flowers were sponged with black oxide ink for some dimension. I think the sentiment is from Papertrey as well. The banner die is from Spellbinders. Foam squares for dimension.

Thanks for popping in! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you find yourself crafting, you will consider joining us at Just Us Girls! Nanc’

Merry Christmas

Hello, I hope this post finds you well. Today I am excited to share with you another Simon’s Snow Globe card but this time I have included this fun 3D Embossing Folder that was also designed by Simon. The Embossing Folder is called Geo Quilt 3D and it’s very unique and gives such a big impact, especially if you use glossy or shimmery cardstock like I have done here. I know I will be using this a lot more in the future. I decided to make a night scene for my snow globe so I could incorporate more of the pieces from the set; the houses, trees, and Santa flying over. I also used shimmery black cardstock for Santa and his sleigh. If you look very closely I have added some Nuvo shine and glitter on my trees as well. Of course, you can’t have a night sky without some white splatter.

Glad We’re Friends

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am excited to be sharing more of Spellbinder’s October release with all of you. This time I have the sweet little penguin which is part of the Whimsical Winter Critters Collection from Nichol Spohr. In this collection, they have five darling animals; a Bear, a Bunny, a Raccoon, a Fox, and the Penguin. I have a thing for penguins so that is the one I started with first. Don’t look too closely at her face as things are not quite as symmetrical as they should be, (sigh). However, she is cute just the same. I made a stencil from the Notched Corners Dies so that I could sponge a light Lilac background first. The greeting comes in the new set also released this month called-Stampendous FransFormer Snowy Friends.

I have everything listed below.

A Million Thanks

Hello, I am back with more Autumn Serenade from Spellbinder’s October release. Today, I have a bright Thank You card using some gorgeous supplies from this collection. I have made other cards using this collection that I have already shared with you, but I do have a photo of all of them below in case you missed them. The one product that I have not shared is the Autumn Serenade EF. I know I haven’t shown very much of it in my layout today but it is a very large Embossing folder and very beautiful. I will be using it again very soon so you can see more of it.

A few details: The leaf Foiled Vellum comes in a 6 X 6 Vellum pack with six sheets with three different patterns. It is really gorgeous! The Fancy Sentiment Better Press Plate was foiled to match. What I love about this BP-Sentiment set is the plates are attached so you can foil and cut them out all at once and then you have extra sentiments waiting to be used on another card. As for the butterflies, I have worked with these stickers in the past and they are just so pretty and are the perfect accent for any card. The scalloped circle and thin strips were made with gold mirrored paper. The decorative edge is made with my Fiskars cutter. The circle was embossed with the EF-Autumn Serenade I spoke about above. A few dies from Autumn Wonder and Envelope of Wonder and of course my gold dots of paper for embellishments to finish it off.

I have everything for today’s card listed for you below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support!
