You’re the Best

Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I am finally starting to feel a bit like myself after being under the weather since Saturday evening. I finally found a wee bit of energy to make a CAS card.

Have you seen the newest Better Press plate called-Cheers to You Sentiments, released this month? It comes with 7 different phrases. What I love most about it is, that you can press all the sentiments at once and then cut them all at once too. There is nothing better than having sentiments on hand for your next card.

I decided to pull out the set Sitting Pretty once again as that tiny bird is just so cute. Next, I found some pretty paper that I picked up at Hobby Lobby eons ago and had yet to use. The DSP has a lot of cream in it, so I decided to use that same color for my flowers and base. The Nestled Hemstitch Rectangles that I used on the mauve background elevate any card, and I really like them. The Gold Glitter Cardstock is also from Spellbinders.

This card came together very quickly and was initially inspired by The Paper Players CAS Spring Flowers Challenge.

Spellbinders-January Small Die of the Month

Hello, I hope you are doing well this first week of the New Year! Today I am honored to say that Spellbinders has asked me to share with you some of their products from their monthly clubs this year. If you are not familiar with Spellbinders clubs, I highly recommend that you check them out. They have so very many to choose from at such a reasonable cost, and what I think is extra special is you can cancel them at any time.

HERE is the page where you can get a peek at all of the clubs along with some amazing samples. The Club kits will be available for purchase by subscription starting on the 6th of the month and running through the 27th. However, quantities are limited so if you are interested don’t delay and or mark your calendar.

First up, I am showcasing the January Small Die of the Month called, “Sitting Pretty.” I absolutely adore this set and that sweet bird is just as darling as can be. I have used one of my favorite color combos on this card. What is it about grey that is so appealing paired with any other color?

A Few Details: After I chose my color combinations of Brushed Silver and Sunshine Cardstock from Spellbinders, I decided to use the small daisy-type die that came in the set to make the background. The white rectangle die is called Nestled Hemstitch Rectangles also Spellbinders is something I purchased on my own recently. I love how well it cuts, even each and every dot comes out with no effort. The Gnome Hugs Sentiments is where I got my greeting.

Fall Items

Hello, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you out there who are celebrating today! I know the Holidays are particularly hard for so many for various reasons and my heart goes out to you. As I was preparing some of the food ahead of time yesterday, I kept thinking to myself, that even though my life has not been particularly easy the past few months, it is nothing compared to what is happening in other parts of the world. So as I celebrate with my family today (who were so sweet to make a 5-day trek across the U.S. with a new puppy and a cat to spend the Holidays with us). I am going to be extra grateful and pray for those who are alone, or are recently mourning a loved one, or can’t be with their family, and for peace for this World that I don’t recognize anymore. Tell me why can’t we all learn to love one another instead of hate?

Now let’s get on with my card!

Over at Seize the Birthday, Barb is our hostess and she has chosen Fall Items as our Topping. That can be anything from Food, Flowers, or Leaves and perhaps something else that we haven’t mentioned. As you can see, I chose flowers. We still have Loll with us as our Surprise Party Guest along with Lisa K., she was our winner using the Topping for our last challenge. Welcome, Ladies! So happy to have you designing alongside us.

*I have made a card similar to this one a few weeks ago and loved it so much I decided to make a similar one. Here is the first one.

A few Card Details: I used some DSP in the background of my wreath. I shaded the flowers and bow with blending brushes and ink and foiled the greeting. I have used clear Nuvo drops in the center of my flowers. Everything is linked for you below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

I hope you will also stop by Seize the Birthday and play along with us! This is our last challenge of the year as I like to give my team a little time off before the New Year!

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Nanc’

Season’s Greetings

Hello, I hope your day is off to a good start! I am super excited to share with you more from the new October release from Spellbinders. In fact, I am using two new fabulous products on today’s card, by Suzanne Hue. One is called Build a Wreath and the other is Christmas Wreath Ad-Ons. They also have a Garden set, a Birthday set, and a Halloween set as well. I already purchased the Halloween set as I just had to have it and I have my eye on the Birthday set as well! You will be seeing the Halloween set soon!

I really love the color combo I have for you today. That is one thing about Pinterest that is super helpful is looking for color combos. In my opinion, three colors in various tones is the way to go when designing a card, but you could definitely do less. I am really happy with how this card turned out.

As you can see, I used two color tones of green to first build my wreath. Next, I built my poinsettias and snowflakes and then used some white paint splatters to give the look of snow. Then, I shaded some of my dies with SSS ink and a blending brush. I had to add some bling to my card so I used the stems from Autumn Wonder. The sentiment I have used is included in the Christmas Wreath Add-Ons and I love that it comes with an outline. I have used some Foam Squares for height underneath my snowman.

Here is a close-up of my cute dapper snowman!

I am playing along with the Inkspirational Challenge for their Word Prompt of Cold.

Glad We’re Friends

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am excited to be sharing more of Spellbinder’s October release with all of you. This time I have the sweet little penguin which is part of the Whimsical Winter Critters Collection from Nichol Spohr. In this collection, they have five darling animals; a Bear, a Bunny, a Raccoon, a Fox, and the Penguin. I have a thing for penguins so that is the one I started with first. Don’t look too closely at her face as things are not quite as symmetrical as they should be, (sigh). However, she is cute just the same. I made a stencil from the Notched Corners Dies so that I could sponge a light Lilac background first. The greeting comes in the new set also released this month called-Stampendous FransFormer Snowy Friends.

I have everything listed below.

For You

Hello, I am really into Fall this year and I think it’s due to the hot summer we have had and dreams of cooler weather on the horizon. Hubby and I feel it’s the hottest that we can remember. While I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday, I was even more inspired by the aisles and aisles of beautiful fall decorations they have, and as soon as I got back home I started this card.

I have a mix of old and new Spellbinders products and I will do my best to link them below, if available. I got so excited when I realized the little gnome from the Gnome Hugs collection would work well in the back of the Trucking Through the Seasons pick-up truck. Now he can stand up in there and pack up his pumpkins.

A few other details: I used a stencil to make the brown plaid shirt and sleeves for my gnome, a bit of colored pencil on his beard, and a bit of ink blending on the pumpkins. The smaller pumpkins are in the Truck set and the large pumpkins are from Autumn Wonder.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a small commission, and I am currently taking all of those commissions and donating it to the Hawai’i Community Foundation for the Maui Strong Fund.

Snowflake Greetings

Hello, I have a little something different today, and you are probably saying how is this different, it’s still a Christmas card, Nanc’? LOL Well, it’s different because it features Bibi Cameron’s Pop-up Snowflake on the inside. I was a bit intimidated at first with this die and had put off putting it together, and let me just say that it’s not that hard at all. Especially once you watch Bibi’s video HERE! She demonstrated it so well. The glittered paper I used on my card is a lilac color and I stumbled upon it in my stash, what a happy find that was.

On the exterior of the card, I am once again using the Merriest Christmas BP Plate along with other fabulous products listed below. I just had to take another opportunity to use the Snowflake Stencil once again.

Here is a photo of the inside. Not a great pic! Sorry about that!

Christmas Time

Hello, I hope you are enjoying your day and if you have been dealing with excessive heat like we are, you are doing everything you can to stay cool. As you can see this heat has certainly given me a little more time to craft! Not all bad, it sure beats cleaning the house or doing laundry! LOL

Card Details:

As promised, I have another Christmas card today using some new Spellbinder’s products. This time I’m using these fabulous Bottle Brush Trees from the Classic Christmas Collection, paired with a Silver foiled background called Geometric Optical, also from Spellbinders. I just recently purchased the stencils ( thanks to my friend Karren Johnson who used them on a gorgeous card) that go with this fun foil plate and they are a game-changer for sure.

Believe me, I had no intention of making an Orange and Green Christmas card, and believe it or not when I stenciled the background I used Candy Apple Oxide Ink and it came out on the orangey side. I think it’s because I used paper with a glossy finish. So I thought, don’t knock it just embrace it! The green color is one of my favs and is called Evergreen Bough. I inked up some white paper using the same green Oxide ink for my trees. Before I cut out the shadow of my Christmas Time sentiment and looked for a paper to back my Geometric background, I thought I would go all in on the orange and make it match. The white paper was cut out using an older set of Spellbinder’s Deckled Edge Rectangles.

I do think the card looks even better in person. I have all the products I used on the card linked for you below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a very small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate your support!

Merry Christmas in July

Hello, I am thrilled to be back today with a card showcasing some new products from Spellbinder’s Stitched for Christmas Collection. The Stitched Christmas Sweater is so cute and comes with an Ornament, a Snowflake, and a Christmas Tree to adorn your sweater if you choose. I have enjoyed designing with it so much, that I will have a few other cards to share with you soon. I am also happy to have started building up my stash of Holiday cards. Have you started yet?

This is the first time I have made a card using stitching and it was just the perfect amount to get my feet wet. This girl is no seamstress, that is for sure! Luckily for me, I was gifted a very large box of embroidery thread in a multitude of colors and had not had the opportunity to use them, till now.

Few Card Details: I first glued down various widths of strips of paper in various pastel colors onto another piece of white cardstock to form my pattern. I also used a plaid stencil from Miss Ink Stamps and did a tone-on-tone background. After I was done stitching my tree I adhered another piece of cardstock behind it to make it a bit more stable. The Spellbinders-snowflakes and sentiments are all raised with foam dimensionals. All the products I used are listed below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a very small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly appreciate your support!
