Photo Week @ JUGS

Hello, If you are visiting me from the states, I hope you have recuperated from either too much food on Thanksgiving and or Black Friday shopping. I stayed clear of both! I did feast on Thanksgiving I just knew when to quit this year. lol As far as shopping, I always stay clear of crowds. I think we can thank Covid for that.

Anyways, Today over at Just Us Girls it’s our final challenge of 2022, and have we got a gorgeous pic for you chosen by the one and only Carol Mayne. I loved it as soon as I saw it! Thanks, Carol for picking a picture that suggested I pull out my MFT Couch Kit once again. Insert childish grin! The only thing missing from my card (that hubby pointed out) is a fireplace and lamp. The lamp I had ready to go, I just forgot to add it till it was too late.

I also want to thank Karren Johnson for being with us to close out 2022. You did an incredible job with all the challenges and we loved having you as our guest! Take care!

Card Details: The only things that are not part of the MFT collection on my card are the blue bows on the tree, the gifts under the tree, and the star upon the tree. The bows are from Paper Smooches and the gifts I made. The star is from who knows!

I am also linking up with TWO other challenges. First is the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge. For this challenge, they have a mood board to inspire you but you can also just do anything Christmas. Next, I am also linking up with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I have chosen the top row of; December Holiday, Diecut, and Embellishment.

I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and play along with us. Happy creating, Nanc’

CASE a Designer

Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S.A. followers! I am so grateful for each and every one of you no matter where you live. Today over at Seize the Birthday it’s our last challenge of the year as I need to give my fabulous team a chance to rest up, be with family and friends, and get ready for 2023. I can’t believe I have been running STB for nearly 10 years! I am so happy I made that decision as my team has become like family to me.

Barb is our fabulous hostess and she has a fun topping for us this time. She wants us to CASE a Seize the Birthday design team member. All you have to do is look back through any of our posts as far back as you like, find a card that you love by one of our members, and CASE it. Then on your blog show us the card you CASED.

I chose to CASE Glenda, and this is the card I Cased! The only thing I decided to do since CAS is so hard for me, is add a background to my card. I used this fun Happy Stencil from Heffy Doodle Stamps and Oxide Inks.

I hope you will consider joining us at STB for our last challenge of the year and before I go, I want to thank Asa for being with us the past three months. I have enjoyed your cards immensely! I hope you will join us in the gallery from time to time as I love your CAS style.

Take care and make sure you leave room for pie! Pumpkin would be my choice! Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, I hope you are doing well today. I have another card for you using three fun Spellbinder products. As you know I am a bit hooked on the Gingko die but let me tell you that this Embossing Folder is something special too. It is called Loops and it is so pretty, especially in white. It just so happens to be 1/2 price right now! The sentiment die is also linked for you below and I find myself reaching for it time and time again, that there is no point putting it away.

Card Details: I was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to begin my card, and I am so glad the chores were done and I had time to play along. As you may have noticed I sponged my paper with various colors of Oxide inks before die-cutting, I did the same with the outline to the sentiment. Added a few gems and I was done. Easy peasy!

Thanks for coming by and I hope however you spend the rest of your week, you do something that brings you joy! Nanc’

…A Sandy Little Christmas

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I have a CAS card for you today. If you know me at all, you know I don’t enjoy mass-producing cards no matter the Holiday, but I did manage this year to make about 25 of these. Of course, 18-25 don’t look nearly as good as number 1. So if you receive one of those, I am truly sorry. LOL I added glitter on the tops of the stockings.

I am tickled to be joining my friends over at The Paper Players this time.

I am also going to link up with the team over at Inkspirational. Although there is no snow in my glass bulb, thankfully all I see are white sandy beaches.

Card Details: The stamp set is from Newton’s Nook and called-Sun Soaked Christmas. I colored it with Copics and Prismas and then came back with a light sponging using some Oxide Ink.

I hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative during this busy season. Take care, Nanc’

Happy Birthday-Card Concept

Hello, I have been eyeing the gorgeous Fall photo over at The Card Concept for the past week or so and I finally had some time yesterday afternoon to play along. I was drawn to the fireplace lines and the fall leaves of course.

Card Details: First, I thought about making bricks or using a stencil to mimic the fireplace but I took a different direction entirely. I decided to just make stripes across the background using strips of the same cream cardstock, almost like ship-lap. Next, I sponged some paper using various tones of Oxide inks to make my leaves. You all probably know by now that this old retired SU set is my all-time favorite when it comes to fall. The leaves are just amazing. I also used other various leaves that are also from SU and retired, I am sorry to say. The sentiment is from Avery Elle and is heat embossed in gold. I made my own embellishments with sparkly paper and a holly die from Spellbinders.

I hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative! Take care, Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, I am back today with an elegant looking Thank you card using part of the Sealed Collection release over at Spellbinders. I told you a few posts ago that I was smitten with the Gingko die in this collection, so here it is once again. This time I used the Thanks from the Spellbinders Truckin Through the Seasons for my sentiment. I seem to be in a use-up some DSP that you have in your stash kinda mood lately and this paper is just gorgeous. I don’t think you can tell but it’s covered in cream, tan, and taupe roses. I got it at my local scrapbooking store ages ago and sadly don’t know whose it is. Also, pretty proud of myself for tying a decent bow, if you know me that is certainly not something I am good at.

I don’t think this card needs much explaining, and I have all supplies linked down below!

I also am joining the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and I have selected the center column of Thankful sentiment, Free, and Any Color.

Your visits and sweet comments certainly brighten my day and for that I thank you! Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Color Week at Just Us Girls

Hello, It’s the weekend so that means it is time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls. It happens to be Color Week and the lovely Carol Mayne is our hostess and has chosen a perfect Christmas trio for us. Of course when I saw this challenge coming up I went with the obvious Christmas card. The set I used is one of my all-time favorites from Stampin Up. I am afraid it is long retired but I will never stop using it. It is called Delicate Ornaments Thinlits.

Card Details: Delicate Ornament Thinlits- Stampin UP, Snowflakes are Spellbinders in the Noel set, the tiny green pieces of fern are part of the tree in the set Truckin Through the Holidays from Spellbinders. The Embossed background is a cover plate from Pink Fresh Studio called Sparkling Diamonds. The red bow is from Paper Smooches. The Stitched Scalloped Rectangle is MFT. I used two white circles behind my ornament to give it some depth and stability. I decided to leave the sentiment for the inside.

I hope you will come on over to Just Us Girls and check out my fabulous teammates cards and find some time to join us.

Take care, Nanc’

Hope Your Day is Special

Happy Friday! I have another Spellbinders card for you today that is also part of their latest Sealed Collection. This time I am using the Sealed Birds Die. I know this die will be getting lots of use as it would make a great card for nearly any occasion. The size is just darling and I love the two tiny birds perched on the branch. Lucky for me, I found this awesome piece of DSP in my stash that paired nicely with the die. Love when you stumble upon something you didn’t even remember you had, don’t you?

I have linked all the products I have used on this card below along with some details.

Many Birthdays

Fluted Classic Ovals

Spellbinders 6

Card Details: I used the Fluted Oval dies to cut out the hole to make my vellum window. Then decided at the last minute to incorporate the soft blue on the inside of my oval as a double mat. I know there is a better way to do this but I had already glued my vellum in place so if you look closely at the photo you can see that the blue oval is not perfectly placed inside the oval. Grrrrr. It will just have to do. The DSP is from an old Stampin Up pack. I decided that one solid leaf color die was just a tad on the boring side, so I cut another one out in a deeper green and fussy cut the leaves off and glued them down for contrast. The sentiment is from the Many Birthdays set and is stamped and matted as well and popped up with fun foam.

I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend ahead! Take care, Nanc’

For You

Hello, I am here today with a card showcasing some more new products from Spellbinders. This release is called the Sealed Collection and has a ton of amazing products encompassing it. As I was looking through the collection I immediately fell in love with this Ginkgo die-cut. I just love all the intricate etching.

Did you know that the Ginkgo plant has a long history of use in treating blood disorders and memory issues? It is also an antioxidant. I find things like this so fascinating.

This card is pretty straightforward and doesn’t need much explanation.

Here are a few details. My first thought was to make a stencil out of the die and that didn’t go so well, so onto plan B. Next, I thought it might be fun to offset this die and I think it worked out quite well. I decided I would incorporate a few falling pedals in white for some contrast. Then when it was time for the sentiment, I chose the outlined greeting set from Spellbinders and one I reach for a lot now. I have everything linked for you below. A few black rhinestones, silver paper dots, and ribbon finished it off.

Celebrate the Season

It is the middle of the month and time for the next Hues of color at Color Hues. Julie B is our fabulous hostess and she has the most perfect color pairing for us and hopefully you! The colors are Scarlet and Green! As soon as I saw this color combo coming up I knew instantly what I was going to do. For my card, I am channeling Yana Smakula’s fabulous style and this time I am using her grid technique. ( I have it linked up for you.) Last year I bought these great dies from Tim Holtz and Sizzix called Christmas Mini’s and I knew they would work perfectly for this technique. The sentiments are old and retired from Stampin Up.

I am delighted you stopped by and I hope you will pop on over to Color Hues and check out my fabulous teammate’s cards! I know you will be inspired. Take care and happy crafting! Nanc’
