A True Friend…

Hello,  It’s that time again!  We have a Photo Challenge for you starting over at Just Us Girls. I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  I first used one of my favorite stencils to make a background with my Oxide Inks.  Then I decided to do a little emboss resist to mimic the new growth peering through the snow in the photo. Last, I got out my stitched flowers from MFT and sponged them with some of the same colors from the background. The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.   The entire sentiment will read…..A true friend remembers your birthday …..but not your age.

Before I go I need to say thanks to Tenia for being such a fabulous Guest with us this month!

Hope to see you in the JUGS gallery this week! Nanc’

Great Colors at JUGS!

Hello,  I have a very quick card for you today that is for our Color Week at Just Us Girls. I got out one of my favorite Stampin Up sets called Painted Harvest to begin my card. I haven’t had this set very long and I haven’t quite mastered the placement of the flowers, but I will get it eventually. I hope! LOL The sentiment is from SU as well.

I sure hope these colors will speak to you and you will consider joining us this week at JUGS!   Nanc’

Keep Calm and Celebrate!

Hello,  It’s time for our next Topping over at Seize the Birthday!  This time around the topping is Coffee or Tea! Also, if you don’t want to incorporate the topping you don’t have to, it just must be a birthday related!  Not sure yet how I feel about this card!  It evolved so many times, that I think I am just kinda tired of looking at it! You know what I mean? LOL. If there is anything I like about this card, it’s the Coffee Set from Verve, and you thought I had packed those images away by now because of over use! LOL  The rest is a combo of MANY various products! If you have any questions just let me know!

Have a terrific rest of your week! Hugs, Nanc’

You’re a Good Egg!

Hello,  I spotted this great color combo over at The Paper Players this week and I knew that the colors would work perfectly for the card I had in mind. I am going to try to make a very long story as short as I can.  My father fainted at his Bank last Thursday and was rushed to the emergency room. He was later diagnosed with AFIB and admitted for further tests along with stitches on his head.  Many hours later, as it’s the peek of tourist season and all the snowbirds are here,  we found out he’s a candidate for a Pacemaker.  However, Medicare will not pay for it unless his heart stops for intervals longer than three seconds and his only stops for two seconds at at time.  Yes, I am serious. Go figure! With that being said, things have been quite stressful for all of us.  I could sit here and rattle on and on about his care in the hospital, his unbearable roommate, the fact that he hadn’t slept for 4 days, and that when he was finally able to be discharged (and he called me at the crack of dawn, ready to leave, and was unhooking himself from all his machines), it ended up taking us 8 hours as the paper work was messed up multiple times, including once I reached the pharmacy to finally be on our way.

I am not going to bore you with any more of that, instead I am going to focus on the three people that helped me get through this past week.  First, it’s the bank teller (Erica) from my father’s bank, that was bound and determined to track me down ( by googling me and finding a newspaper article written about me, and then calling multiple schools till she found the one I was currently working at) to notify me that my father was on route to the hospital. (Later to find out, that when her father was hospitalized for a car crash and died 5 hours later, no-one bothered to try to find her or a family member, so they might have a chance to say their goodbyes. She said she was bound and determined that was not going to happen to anyone else.) Then there are the two Publix pharmacist, one that took so much time with me explaining all the ins and out of my fathers new medications, along with the ones he was currently taking, and fixing the prescriptions that were once again wrong for the third time when I arrived to fill them.  Not to mention, the pharmacist from another Publix that saved me $485.00 by making me aware of a coupon I could print out at home for a 30 day free trial.  I showed up to the store, with the wrong coupon of course, and after many bumps along the way he somehow managed to get it to me for free anyhow!  So, as you can see there are still Good Eggs in this world and these cards are for them (3rd not pictured), with a gift certificate enclosed of course!   I am happy to report that my dad ( 87 years young) is doing much better, and at this point we are just taking it day by day till his follow up heart specialist appt.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings, (sorry for all the typos and grammar errors along the way).   Now go on out there and be someone’s good egg! Nanc’

Stamp set is from Stampin Up.

Tags at JUGS!

Hello Friends,  I am hosting this week over at Just Us Girls and the Trend I have chosen is TAGS!  I believe it’s something that never goes out of style! I chose to put a tag on my card, but if you decide to join us and you just want to make a tag by itself, that is okay too!  Hope to see you in our gallery!  Gotta make it short as things are a little bit crazy in my life! Take care,  Nanc’

Card Info: MFT is the primary dies used on this card, along with at Verve sentiment, verve leafs, and Gina K paper. Some Nuvo drops for my daisy centers.

More Valentine’s and Meeting Online Friends!

Hello,  I have another fun Valentine for you this week! It’s for the Theme Challenge over at The Paper Players. This Text Ya Later set is from Stampin Up and boy do I see many possibilities of future cards with this fun Stamp set. Sorry for the startling bright photo.  I am playing around with the camera set up and it’s still a work in progress. I incorporated some other SU sentiments onto this card in order to achieve my Valentine greetings.

Before I go, I had the pleasure of meeting in person one of The Paper Players talented Team Members yesterday (who always so happens to be on Seize the Birthday with me.) Sandy Mathis and her hubby were driving right by my area yesterday, so JoAnn Burnham (who also is on STB with us) and I met up with the pair of them.  It’s times like these that always makes me feel grateful for this Hobby of mine! Thanks so much Sandy and Bill! It was a pleasure to share a meal with you both and meet you in real life! JoAnn, it’s always nice to see you too!  Next time, we have to do some shopping and stamping too! HUGS to you all!

I am also linking my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for their Holiday Challenge!

I so appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day! Nanc’

I chose to sit down in the photo so I could hide my height! 😉

Love is the Word!

Hello and Happy Weekend, We have the perfect Word for you this week over at Just Us Girls!  The word is LOVE!  I have another Verve set for you today that just so happens to have a coffee cup on it, and you thought I was all through with the Coffee binge that I seem to be stuck on lately!  Well, not quite yet! This set actually is a digi set.  You must go check it out HERE! I used a bit of MFT, Spellbinders, and SU dies, and a really fun Paper die cut from Paper Smooches.  The love square is actually DP and not a stamp.

I am also linking my card up over at The Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I have selected the top row of Sentiment, Red and Heart and over at Stamp, Ink, Paper where the Challenge is All you Need is Love.

I so appreciate you stopping by!  Please go check out the rest of the DT’s creations over at JUGS and help me in welcoming Tenia ( Everyone knows Tenia from Jazzy Paper Design) to the Team this month as our Guest! Nanc’

Have you had enough Coffee yet?

One more card using this fabulous Coffee set from Verve!  This time I am linking up to The Paper Players Sketch Challenge. I decided to make my card Vertical instead of Horizontal. I always have a devil of a time photographing horizontal cards. The square stitched dies are SU and the heart banner die at the base is Verve as well.  I made my own background paper once again.  I believe the Apricot polka dotted paper is from Bo Bunny, but don’t hold me to it.

Hope you are having a fabulous week and haven’t gotten caught by the Flu/ or Respiratory crud that is going around unlike me! 😦 Time to go heat up my coffee!  Nanc’

Candles

Hello Friends,  We have the perfect topping for you this week at Seize the Birthday! Everyone loves a few candles on their cake don’t they?  As long as it’s just a few and not the actual number, and you can hardly see the cake amongst the barrage of flames. LOL  Anyways, you get the picture! That is our topping this week at STB! I went with a really colorful and basic card this time around.  I do love those candle stencils from Elizabeth Craft Designs and my fun new THICK SU Hexagon EF that you can barely see in the photo. Trust me, it makes really deep pronounced lines! The sentiment is one from Close to My Heart and the flower is MFT.

Have a wonderful day and please head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out the rest of the Designers cards along with our guest Kristie! Their creativity far exceeds mine this week! Hugs, Nanc’
