UR Beautiful!

DSC_0455

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 12.47.35 PMI am hostess this week at Just Us Girls and it’s the 5th Saturday of the month and that means it’s Wild Card Week.  In another words…I can select just about anything.  I wanted to make it relatively easy, so this week the challenge is to make your Sentiment the Focal point of your card and or project. Love this idea and when we were making our selections about a month ago, I hadn’t seen this type of challenge in blog land all that much, but now it’s everywhere. LOL  Oh well, that’s okay!  You all have had some practice then.

I used a mix of SU (flower) and Verve ( U/beautiful) stamps to make my sentiment pop!  The R was cut out with my new SU die cut letters! I think my Cricut is going to start collecting more dust now, using these dies and my Big Shot is so much faster. The dots were added by hand. The flower die is from MFT. The rest is self explanatory.

I sure hope you come by and join me at Just Us Girlswe have increased our participants lately and we are so happy about that.(I sure hope it continues!) Remember if your chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer with us in the future.  Speaking of Guest Designer!  Judy Woodland has been a fantastic GD with us this month.  Her cards have been fabulous plus she is such a sweetheart and visited so many of our contestants blogs and left them some love!  Thanks so much Judy!  We will miss you!  Have a fantastic weekend and see you at JUGS!  Nanc’

Another Birthday at STB!

DSC_0397

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  I have a rather quick post for you today, using one of the latest stamp sets from Stampin UP.  It’s called Sheltering Tree and I love the set and it’s a re-make of one of the very first Stampin Up sets I ever purchased called Branching Out.   I was fortunate enough to go to a class a few Saturdays ago with a good friend of mine and make some really fabulous cards.   I cannot take credit for the complete design of this card as there was a sample from the demonstrator that we were asked to follow.  I did change mine up a bit, I had to be different. LOL   As you can see I did a terrible job stamping my swing. Grrrrrrrr. I hate when I fudge up a card when I am nearly done.

Anyhoo,  I hope you decide to join us this time over at Seize the Birthday ….where we have an Anything Goes Birthday challenge starting today!  It goes for nearly two weeks so you have plenty of time! My teammates are so talented!  Come by and check it out!

See you there!

For You- Gift Card Holder

DSC_0389

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 12.35.43 PMHappy Weekend Friends,  It’s Saturday and it’s time for our Inspiration photo week over at Just Us Girls.  I love making Valentines and this in particular one is going to be sent to my son and stuffed with a restaurant gift card for him to use with his girlfriend at his leisure!  I sure hope he is to busy with his Masters and full time job to read my blog these days.  That would be a huge spoiler! A risk I am willing to take.  I can’t take complete credit for this card idea.  My SU demonstrator had the cool bag diecut at our class last month. It so much fun and easy to put together.  This one is actual made from a piece of cardstock, I think a thin brown paper type of material would be less puffy. All the other details are all made with SU supplies as well.  Hope I have inspired you a tad to make some Valentine cards as well.  If I have been successful please come by Just Us Girls and join us! Our Guest Designer Judy and the team did some great cards!  Come by and check them out!

TPE - ThemeChallenge2I am also linking my card up over at The Pink Elephant where they happen to be having a “LOVE” themed challenge going on an also at TIME OUT Challenges where It’s a Valentine’s theme.   Hope you find sometime this weekend to be creative! Nanc’

Great Sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

DSC_0365

CTS_106 I am going to pop in today and share with you a quick card that I made for this awesome sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I have been eyeballing this sketch for quite sometime and tonight I had a chance to whip something up.  Both stamps are from Verve.  The heart is called Heart Flutter and the word LOVE that I stamped in the center is from one of my all time favorite sets called You and I.  If your not familiar with Verve I have linked up their store for you!  Colored my hearts with prisma colored pencils and added some sequins.  Had troubles capturing a true color tonight with my camera.  The photo looks a little dull IMO.

Have a wonderful day!

Colour Me- Set of Thank You Cards

DSC_0289

Hello Friends,

I saw the great colors over at Colour Me this week and I wanted to take sometime to join them. My hubby has been in the need of some thank you cards for school and I decided to make them masculine.  The one above I am entering over there and the rest I am just posting for you to take a peek at.  I have a very hard time with mass producing a card and it is something I need to work on.  As you can tell each one is a tad different in someways then the others while still using the same general color palette.  Stamps are mainly SU The Open Sea with some Verve Sentiments thrown in there too.  Love me some Verve sentiments.

Some of the photos are a tad blurry…but I was short on time to re-take them.

Here are the rest of them!

Colors at JUGS!

DSC_0342

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 12.26.49 PMI am back today with a really quick Thank You card that my hubby asked for me to make for him.   I am a little embarrassed to post this as I was short on time this week and I am not in love with it at all.  My dad is still requiring some extra care and I haven’t quite figured out how to squeeze much stamping time in as of yet.  We all know that family comes first so please forgive me for this not so lovely card.  The stamp set is from Stampin Up and is called Stippled Blossoms.  The bold thank you is from Heidi Swapp.  The sentiment and the background paper is both navy blue. I did take my SU watercolor brush and oh so very lightly watercolor the inside of the flowers to give them some depth using SU ink. Please come on over to Just Us Girls and see what the rest of the team and our Guest Designer Judy has done with our color challenge.  I promise they did a much better job then I did.  Remember if you are chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer in the future. Hope to see you there! Nanc’

A Sketch at Seize the Birthday

DSC_0347

Hello Friends,

Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 12.39.59 PM     It’s Thursday, and the weekend is just around the corner. Whoohoooo!  It also means it must be time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  Our ” Topping ” STB Toppingsoption this time around is a Sketch.  Some of us DT members struggled a little bit with this, including me.  The funny thing is, I created it! LOL Not sure what the problem was exactly!

Anywhoozal, Here are a couple of details about my card: Sentiment is from Hero Arts, butterfly is Stampin Up.  The flowers were cut out with my circuit and I also used my script stamp to add text behind the butterfly and sentiment to mimic the text on the butterfly DP.  The fancy nestability is called Picot Edge and I also used an MFT large scalloped die as well.  The rest is pretty self explanatory.  Hope you come on over to STB and see what my amazing teammates have done with this sketch, and join us while your there!

Take care, Nanc’

I wanted to take some time today and make a Dedication post to a former 12 year old student of mine from my school that I had the privilege to have known for the last 3 1/2 years.  He lost his life to a terrible accidental injury at his home.  I attended his funeral yesterday and let me just say, I am so glad I did.  I was witness to the most beautiful celebration of life I have ever seen.  One little 12 year old boy made a huge impact on so many people and it was so evident on the size of the crowd.  He wasn’t just any little boy and the guest speakers captured this angelic little boys character so perfectly!  One of the songs that was sang was titled “Burrowed Angels” and it fit Max so perfectly!  Even his mother and father spoke,  I don’t know how they did it, and I was truly inspired by them.

This tragedy has really knocked me off my feet for the past week. It seems to have uncovered all the loss my family and I have had over the past 5 years.  If you are a new reader or follower.  Both of my sisters loss their oldest child not so long ago (a year apart) and when I heard about Max’s death, it seemed to just make that time in my life come rushing back to me.

I could write a book about yesterday and this wonderful young man,

but instead I will close by saying that I feel very privileged to have known you Max,

I am a better person because of you Max,

and you will always be in my heart!

Love, Mrs. Leppek

Break Out Those Stencils!

DSC_0335

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 12.22.09 PM       Over at Just Us Girls this week it’s Trend week and Sue has picked a perfect one! The JUGS team wants you to break out those stencils and have at it!  The sky is the limit on what you can do with these great things.  I guess I have always been dabbling in the arts, as I had so many of these when I was a kid, and now I wish I had saved them all.  Anyway, the stencil I decided to use is from the Crafters Workshop and it’s a 6 x 6. I think this is only the second time I have used it.  In hind sight I wish I would have stenciled around the numbers in red, but it will have to do I guess.  I was asked to make a Birthday card for a co-workers brother.  I hope it doesn’t look to feminine.  YIKES!  We shall see what she thinks.  I can’t tell you where I got this Die Cut-Heart because I have had it for so long….there is no telling!  The sending you sentiment is not stamped…. I cheated a little and made it on my computer (shhhhhh) and the Birthday Wishes is from Verve! Got out my trusty Fishers Victorian edge to jazz it up a little.   Some punches and pop dots and Wah lah!  However you spell that! LOL

swatch+324       The color inspiration for this week’s card came from the Color Throwdown. I haven’t had the opportunity to play with this challenge lately, however I never miss a week where I don’t drop by and see what the talented team has been up to!  I have been following this challenge since their inception I do believe!

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the team has been up to…and our Guest Designer Judy!  You won’t be disappointed!  If your chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer for the Month of March.  Until next time…find sometime to be creative…it’s good for the soul!  Nanc’

A Year in Review!

I know it’s not quite the first of January anymore, in fact it’s the 4th.  However, I had started this post nearly 2 weeks ago and then my dad fell on Christmas Day and has needed a lot of care since then and then he went back to the ER on New Year’s Day.  So with that said, that is my excuse for this post being late and I am determined to finish what I started!

To my faithful readers and followers: I do not have the words to thank you enough for all your support this last year and the years previously. I have been on this journey since 2008.  WOW…I can’t believe it!  I thoroughly enjoy sitting down at my computer and typing and sharing with you what I have created and or what is going on in my life. I adore the 2 design teams that I currently work for and love all the blog friends I have made along the way.  I don’t think you even realize what all of your comments mean to me and how much you have touched my heart!  A sincere thank you!

So without further ado….Here are my favorite cards of 2014!
