Cakes

Second post of the day! If you are looking for Inspired By Challenge please scroll down!

Hello, I hope your week is treating you well. I am here today as the new topping is starting over at Seize the Birthday! Shirley is our hostess and she has selected the perfect topping for our Birthday Challenge…the word is Cakes! All I can say is YES please! Carrot Cake if I was to choose!

Card Details: This is a very simple card that I don’t entirely love. It all started with this cute little cake stamp that I have neglected completely from SU. Then I had these great celebratory themed die-cuts that I purchased probably six years ago that needed some attention. The candles are a small set that I have also had forever from Michaels. My enamel dots are from SU and match the colors perfectly!

Now head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out my fabulous team and our guest Jenny’s cards! You are certainly going to be inspired!

Guesting along at Inspired by Challenge

Hello everyone, Today I am tickled to say that I was asked by my sweet friend Cindy Beach to be her guest over at the Inspired By Challenge. Thanks so much Cindy! I am honored to be with all of you.

Here are the photos and the sketch that you have to chose from this time around! You can pick whichever one you like or can pick one photo and use the sketch, or use the sketch alone. As you can probably tell I was inspired by the Christmas photo. I also wanted to add another Christmas card to my completed list. As I looked at the photo and decided what to do, I immediately thought it would be fun to make a wreath and add some Christmas trees to pick up on the Buffalo Check in the photo. I even made my own babies breath by sticking dots on the end of some small branches. Not sure they came out quite like I had imagined they would, but it was fun anyways.

Card Details: Postage Dies are from Hero Arts. The wreath base is from SU-Swirly Scriblits. The 6 sprigs of Greenery from Sizzix are die cut in the same color green and layered on the base to form the wreath shape. The trees are from Impression Obsession. The bow is from Paper Smooches. The tiny sprigs that I carefully glued white dots on are from Spellbinders. The greeting is from Verve and at the last minute I decided it needed a pop of gold here and there.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head on over to Inspired By and check out all the other cards and see who else is joining the rest of the Design Team as their guest this week. I know we all will be inspired!

Take care, Nanc’

National Coffee Day

Hello It is national Coffee Day and I just had to partake! If you know me at all, coffee is my love language and one of the casualties of Covid is I am now pretty much addicted to DD’s Iced Coffee! My hubby will totally agree with that statement and I have taken him to the dark side with me! It really has become a serious problem. Speaking of Coffee you need to hop on over to The Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog and check out the Hop they have going on. Lots of prizes to be had. Amy Tsuruta does and incredible job with this every year! Well done Amy!

Thanks to my enabling best friend Carol, I recently purchased this fun Coffee Cup Gift Card holder from Catherine Pooler that is super fun to play with. I have linked it up for you, as she can’t be the only one to enable people around here. LOL

Here is the inside so you can see how it works! I took this pic today as I forgot the first time. Notice the sun is not shining! LOL

I also want to add my card to the challenge over at Tic Tac Toe where I have selected the diagonal row of Diecut-Free-Fall. And over at Global Design Project where the Theme is leaves.

Card Details: I paired my new fun Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder with my favorite leaf die from SU. The sentiments are all from retired Verve and the top and bottom of the cup is sponged in yellow Oxide ink. If you look closely there is a piece of scalloped vellum behind the sentiment and some dimensionals. You will be seeing more of these cups real soon!

Take care and happy crafting and coffee drinking!

I made it to Duncan Donuts for my free coffee with purchase…did you? Nanc’

More Fall!

Hello, You wouldn’t think this Florida girl would be so into making Fall themed cards while it’s still in the high 80’s, but let me tell you, I may need an intervention! LOL I am hooked! I was thinking as I typed this post the same thing happened a couple of years ago and I was using this same stamp and die set. It is just awesome and one of my all time favs from SU!

When I saw the challenges starting over at Inspired by and Tic Tac Toe Challenge and they were fall inspired, I used them as an excuse to use this stamp and do this technique one more time…well maybe two more times. Stay tuned. :). For the Tic Tac Toe board I picked the center row of Orange/Rust, Free and Layers. And for the Inspired by I obviously chose the fall pic.

Card Details: Stamps and Dies are from Stampin UP and called Colorful Seasons. I first made a stencil of the die that matches this stamp. Then I stamped a white panel of leaves. Next, I used my stencil and sponged each leaf one at a time using three colors of Oxide Inks. Then, I decided to change this card up a bit and put dimension on three of the leaves. But before I did that, I sponged the background with yellow purposely leaving a bit of light around each leaf. I cut the leaves out four times on white paper to achieve my depth. Pictured below. Last, I decided to use my hello die from Simon Says Stamps and its shadow. I decided not to put the bottom right corner background back in as I liked the look.

I hope you have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

Take care, Nanc’

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I have been knee deep in Christmas card making and I am happy to finally be able to share with you this card that I made for the Sketch we have starting today at The Paper Players! I hope JoAnn, our hostess, doesn’t mind that I took my three circles and offset them just a bit on my design! I just liked that there was just a bit more space in between each circle. If not, please forgive me this once.

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers for their Christmas Challenge

Card Details: I used Prisma Colored Pencils as my Medium. The stamps are from Sunny Studios and are called Christmas Cookies and are the cutest things ever! The ric-rac is MFT. I have added glitter to the Santa hats.

Remembering You

Hello, I am back today with the next challenge at Just Us Girls. It is time for Photo Week and Ina has chosen a gorgeous pic for us. As soon as I saw it I was inspired by the flowers, the gorgeous colors, and the wall in the background. Ina, thanks for picking something so pretty and easy for us to work with!

I will also be sticking my card in over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes Stencil Challenge. and also over at Addicted to Stamps and More for Any Occasion.

Card Details: I did a little masking before I began. The wall stencil is from MFT, the Hydrangea stamp is from Gina K, and the greeting is from Verve! I added my favorite dew drops and I was done. I colored my image with both Copics and Prismas. I used a white gel pen to brighten up the centers of the Hydrangeas.

Now, run on over to Just Us Girls and check out how the rest of the team was inspired! And before I go I need to say a Huge Thanks for Loll for being such an awesome guest! I am thoroughly enjoyed all of your work!

Take care, Nanc’

Hello Friend

Hi, I am back today with two fall cards that I really enjoyed creating. If you have not discovered the joy of taking your die-cuts and making your own stencils, you should certainly give it a try. I shot a very amateur video showing what I did, but sadly my blog doesn’t support videos unless I upgrade. What I love best about the leaf stamp and die-cut stencil is that the stencil is bigger than the stamp and I really like the look of it. What do you think?

Here is a close up! And you can also see my inlay die-cut too.

The above card is for the Double D Challenge where the word is Leaves plus they have a mood board to inspire us.

The card below is the first card I made with this technique and it’s for the Addicted to CAS-Leaf challenge.

Card Details: Stamp and leaf die is from Stampin Up and since retired. The hello is from The Crafters Workshop. The Friend and I am so Thankful for…are from SU as well. I used oxide inks as my medium. I just love my new Postal Dies from Hero Arts! I did have to make a half mask of my leaf for the CAS card.

Now I am looking at all my dies in a brand new light! I am off to see what else I can make with a die-cut stencil! Have a very creative day! Nanc’

CAS-Fall

Hello, Is fall showing itself where you are yet? Well if not, we are sure feeling it this week at The Paper Players. Claire is our hostess and she wants all of us to embrace Fall with a CAS challenge. As I was making my card, I was reminded of a trip my hubby and I took last fall to a cabin in the Georgia mountains to escape the world for a bit. We had such a great time. I hadn’t seen fall leaves in a long time and I was like a little kid collecting them everywhere we went. Thanks for the memory Claire!

I am going to toss my card in for my second entry over at Addicted to CAS where the word is Leaf!

Card Details: The paper isn’t black as it appears but a deep chocolate brown! I absolutely adore the die set from Stampin Up called Seasonal Layers, it is since retired as far as I know, but it it so much fun to use. After I cut out the outline of my leaves I found some patterned DSP to put behind the openings. Then I cut out the vein parts of the leaves all in dark brown to match the bottom of the card. The scalloped edge die is from MFT. The Thanks die is from Saavy.

Warm Wishes and Sunny Smiles

Hello, How did it get to be Saturday already? That was a very fast week! It is time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and I am your hostess. As I was selecting my colors for this challenge, I wanted to make sure that our players and I could have a choice to embrace the end of summer or jump right into fall. I hope these colors appeal to everyone this week and you cone play along.

Card Details: I don’t often make one layer cards. The background was made with a stencil I made with a piece of acetate and some rectangle die cuts. I used Oxide Inks for my blending. The greeting is from MFT, the birds are from SU, and the palm tree landscape is from Impression Obsession.

This card was inspired by Michelle from the Card Grotto and you can find it HERE!

Come by Just Us Girls and join us! The lovely and talented Loll is still with us too!

Take care and I hope you find some time to be creative, Nanc’

Thanks

Hello, I have a quick and simple card for you today where the embossing folder and dies do all the work. I am playing along with the girls over at Freshly Made Sketches. Nobody does CAS like Cecile and she was the brains behind this fun sketch. Now that I am finished with the card I thought of a few other things I could have done. So perhaps I will be back before it closes with another entry.

Card Details: Most the products on this card are new to me thanks to the generosity of a fellow card maker! The dies are from Spellbinders and the 3D embossing folder is just gorgeous and from Sizzix called Bohemian Botanicals, and the sentiment is Verve.

Have a wonderful creative day, Nanc’
