Live the Life…

Hello, I am back today with a card for The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge.  I have chosen the diagonal row of die-cut, embossing, and patterned paper.  I have been in a scene creating frenzy lately and will have to show you some of the other cards I have been making later on.  I think I may have finally found my nitch in this world of card making.

Card Details: I heat embossed the stencil Geometric Shapes from MFT with white embossing powder and then did some Oxide ink blending over that. I created my sky using an MFT Cloud Stencil.  The waves die is also MFT. The sun is Lawn Fawn and the sailboat is IO-Obseesion Impression.  The sentiment is SU.

Thanks for checking in on me!

I hope you are having a wonderful day, Nanc’

Butterflies

Hello, Today starts the newest challenge over at Just Us Girls and it just so happens to be Wild Card Week and Carol has chosen Butterflies to inspire us.  I have this Pretty Pink Posh set of Butterfly stamps that I have been ignoring as of late and I was determined to show them some love this week. Making the background to my card was so much fun and super easy.   All you do is take a circle stencil (mine is from my local craft store) and ink up the stencil with whatever inks you would like to work with, spritz it with water and then flip it over and push it down on a piece of watercolor paper. Repeat the process until you are happy with your results. I will definitely be doing this again soon.  I used my Copics to color the butterflies and leaves.

I would like to say farewell and thanks to Lisa Elton for being with us this month at JUGS. You have been an absolute delight and we look forward to seeing you and your lovely work back in our gallery again soon.

Please come over to JUGS and join us, and who knows you may even become our next Guest Designer.  Nanc’

Thank you

Hello, I have a quick post for you today.  I needed a thank you card for a golf lover.  I have this new golf set from SU that I have been enjoying playing with. I took my inspiration from Pinterest to put this card together.  The sentiment and clouds are from MFT. I made my rolling hills with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hill dies. Still trying to work on using up some of the Designer Paper.

I am linking my card up over at Just Add Ink where they have a challenge for the Guys. Happy crafting, Nanc’

Add Gold

Hello,  Add Gold is our topping starting at Seize the Birthday.  Not a hard topping one would think.  Well, I struggled with this and not sure why.  I made three different cards and settled on this one and I do mean settled. LOL I made this card for a friend’s dad that is turning 90.  What a milestone!

Here is a close up so you can see some of the sparkle.

Before I go I want to thanks Jen for being such a fabulous Surprise Party Guest the past two months.  It has been such a pleasure having you onboard and look forward to seeing you back in our gallery soon.

Details:  Embossed the center panel using a stencil and gold embossing powder. The window opening is a die from MFT.  The sentiment is a fav from Verve. The balloons are SU and the 90 is Sizzix.

I hope you will pop on over to STB and join us,
Nanc’

Exciting Announcement!

Hi Friends,  I am over the moon excited to share my news with all of you!  It has been really hard keeping this a secret for so long. I have always wanted to start my very own Color Challenge and I finally did it! EEKKKKKK! I always told myself to wait until I retired when I would have more time on my hands. But in fact, I had this in the works a few months before I chose to retire since I was home so much during these crazy uncertain times, I figured why not start it now. So I guess I have the Pandemic to thank for having something good to have come from it!  I love it when things work out as they should.

I would be amiss to not say THANK YOU to you, my followers, because without you I may not have even attempted to try something like this. I know I run Seize the Birthday rather successfully, but I didn’t build it from scratch.  I actually took it over many years ago from Lesley Croghan. I heard that as she was going to close it down and I didn’t want that to happen so I asked her if I could have it.  I am so glad she said yes!  I have enjoyed Seize the Birthday and Just Us Girls (where I am a DT member) immensely and have no plans to stop being a part of either one of those teams.  Many of you have been part of my journey since day one (back in 2008). I will always be grateful for the friends I have made along this journey and blessed with the ones I have been lucky enough to meet in person.  My list is surely growing with those I wish to still meet one day, once it is safe to travel again!  As for my new team,  I wish I could have asked each and every one of you to join me on this journey but that just wasn’t possible!  However, I do hope you will support me and play along when you have time.

Please head on over to my NEW challenge Color Hues and check out all the details.

Thanks again for everything I am very grateful!

Nanc’

You had me at Coffee

Hello,  Coffee is always a good idea, that is my motto.  Over at Just Us Girls we have this great photo challenge starting. It is not a secret that I will forever be a Verve fan.  The sets I am working with here today are a mix of stamps, digis, and dies all designed by Julee Tilman from Verve.  Sadly she is not in business anymore, but luckily enough she is still creating.  The heart die is MFT and the background paper is from SU.  Isn’t it just perfect for coffee rings?

I colored my cups with Copics and I used colored pencils for the lids.

Please come join by Just Us Girls, the team has a fabulous array of cards to see. Nanc’

You’re So Kind

Hello, I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.  We are hanging in there and keeping an eye on the tropics.  Just what we need is a hurricane to make 2020 even better than its current state.  I really think it is going to shift South and head more towards the panhandle and spare us on the West Coast of Florida.  I surely don’t wish it on anyone, so hopefully it doesn’t get too strong and cause much damage.  Well, you didn’t stop by for a weather forecast now did you?

Today’s card is for The Color Throwdown this week. Purple, Blue, and Yellow are the colors I was working with. It wasn’t as easy a combo as I thought it would be, but it finally came together.  I was inspired by this card HERE.  I just love anything Wanda Guess designs. If you don’t follow her on Instagram or her blog, may I suggest you do!  She is very talented, super sweet, and has exceptional photographing skills.

Details: The Heart and Kind die-cut are both SSS.  The You’re So is just part of a sentiment from MFT.  It was super fun piecing all these pieces all the flowers back together.  Very calming I would say.

Be sure to check back with me on MONDAY for a fun Announcement!! I am really so excited to share my news!

However, I will be back tomorrow with my weekly JUGS card!  See you then, Nanc’

Happy B’Day

I just love this new PI Birthday Buddies set I recently got from MFT and I thought this week’s Wednesday Sketch would be the perfect time to color her up.  I also decided that the Perfect Pool Water Stencil would make for a great cobblestone pathway and that is what I did.  Boy oh boy, am I happy the way it turned out. I am just itching to make another one. I also used MFT’s Cloud Stencil too.  I used both Copics and colored pencils to color my stamps. The green that is in the background is a piece of scrap paper that I bet I have had for 15 years.  I am not joking.  I think it might be from Creative Memories.  As you can see I keep all my scraps.  So glad I did as it worked perfectly for my bushes. The sentiment-Happy B’day comes with the Birthday Buddies set and as for Let’s Celebrate, it’s from Papertrey Ink.

Here is the MFT Pool Water Stencil I used for my cobblestone pathway.

Here are a few closeups I took outside.

I sure appreciate you coming by!  Stay safe out there, Nanc’
