Monochromatic

Over at the Dynamic Duos this week they are challenging us to make a monochromatic item out of the 2 colors, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.  This was quite a challenge for me and it was hard not to throw in another color or 3…lol.

Hope you have a blessed day and find time to craft in between the Olympics!  This staying up till midnight is kicking my butt! :/

Friends…

Hello Blog friends,  Are you watching the Olympics as much as we are?  I never have my TV on during the day but it sure has been on a bunch lately.  Although the Olympics are sucking up a lot of my time I did manage to create this card yesterday afternoon.  I think I snuck away when they were showing Skulling (rowing) I’m not a fan…lol.  This card didn’t turn out quite as planned the blue flower in the corner was added last minute to cover up some poor attempt at continuing the pattern from the design paper.   It worked pretty well and I should have left well enough alone and I pushed it to far!  Please tell me you do that too?  Either use something to cover something up that looks bad…or take things to far and wish you would have just left well enough alone?  I am gong to enter this into two challenges.  The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge…LOVE these type of challenges…makes you so flexible and the other is for the Sketch Challenge at Retro Sketches…they are one of my favorite sketch challenges on the web!

I saw this technique on making circle flowers on Pinterest where you take circles from a punch and make a flower!  Super easy!!!

The sentiment is very old and its Stampin Up!

On the Tic Tac toe board for the Paper Players….I went with Circles, Blue and Floral!

Well enjoy the rest of your day….back to the Olympics for me….girls Water Polo…talk about amazing!

Summer Time

Happy Saturday, I have a fun summer card for you today that I designed based on a “sketch” challenge over at ispy sketches and a “Summer” challenge over at The Pink Elephant. I have had these cute little penguins since before I started really getting into stamping and thought it was past time for them to get inky again. I used my prisma colored pencils to color them.

They scream summer with their little bathing suits on!  They are soooo cute!

Well I guess it’s time to get back to the Olympics. 🙂

Have a great rest of the weekend!

I Rocked….LOL

Just got back from a wonderful family vacation in Michigan and was so excited to see that while I was absent one of my cards was selected in a challenge over at The Friday Mashup!  I was so thrilled when I realized!  What a surprise!  I am going to show you the card again as I have not got the energy today to be creative and make a new post!……I guess I had too much fun! LOL

Thanks again to The Friday Mashup Team, I so appreciate it!

ispy with my little eye times 2

That is the sketch challenge over at ispy.  Lots and lots of circles…although if dots aren’t your thing I am sure you can change the shape to something else.  I loved the sketch so much I decided to make 2 cards!  Well, I must confess….I disliked one of the cards and had to redeem myself. 🙂 That’s the honest truth!  I also am entering them both in a Masculine challenge over at Stamp TV.  I struggle with Masculine cards!! UGH!!!  I had to add the ribbon…I couldn’t help myself! LOL  My Hubby loves Golf so I am sure this will come in handy someday!

The background was made with stamps and DP. (this is the one I am not so fond of :/

Thanks for the visit,

Subtly Soft…

The challenge over at Dynamic Duos is to use the Subtly Soft Colors of Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze for their challenge and I combined that with the Sketch Challenge  over at Clean and Simple.  I hope that my card is simple enough…I tend to struggle with this an insist on adding more layers every time. :/

Each part of the flowers were made with my cricut…cartridge- George and Basic shapes, leaves are a MS punch.

Have a great day and hope you find time to be creative!

Two New Challenge Sites

I am so excited to share with you the Two New Challenge Sites I came across the other day.  The first one is called the Pink Elephant…How cute is that…hugh?  I am a sucker for elephants as I use to collect them, so I was intrigued right away and the site is sooooo cute!  They wanted us to incorporate Orange in our project.   The second one is called the Friday Mashup….where do these people come up with these catchy titles?  What I think is clever about this site is you get an option of how you want to do the challenge.  Check it out for more details!!!  Now here is my card!  Can you believe that this is the first banner card I have ever made!  I don’t have any banner stamps so I just made my own with paper!  You can’t see the hemp very good, but it is under the banner and then ties in the corner!

The orange button and the hemp string I used is really not as bright as in the photo,

I promise you they match the paper much better than they appear to. 🙂

Have a fantastic day!

Ribbon and a Button with a SFYTT

Happy Monday,  Is that an oxymoron? LOL  Well Monday is here any way you look at it! 🙂  As my son ALWAYS says…”Everyday is a miracle, and I hate to waste a miracle” isn’t he awesome!!!  I learn from him everyday!  He is such a blessing to me!

Today’s card is for the Ribbon Carousal Blog….Must use a button and a Bow and it’s also for the SFYTT sketch for the month!  If you have never crossed paths with either of these fabulous blogs you are missing out!  I have linked them up for you, so go have yourself a look!

Don’t think you can tell in the photo, but the black paper is embossed with my cuttlebug!

Enjoy your day!

Faux Window Technique…

Hello Stampers, Over at JUGS the technique challenge this week is to make a Faux window.  If you want a little bit of info on exactly what that means, I have a Stamp TV video here which will help you along!   Now onto the details of my card.  I first stamped the text onto white cardstock with Stazon black ink.  Then, I used versamark and clear embossing powder for my flower image.  Next,  I sponged my distress ink all over top, and as you are doing this you get a embossed resist.   I absolutely Love this technique, and I will be doing it a lot more!!  Finished it off with the sentiment, ribbon, gems and butterflies.

Isn’t the example gorgeous!!!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and happy creating!

Happy Bird-day to You…

Hello Stampin Friends,  I’m back today to share with you a card I made today while it was raining outside!  It is so nice to work in my studio in front of the window as the ran is coming down.  The stamp set I used today is something I picked up while at a Stampfest back in February.  I sure enjoy using it and don’t know why I don’t use it more often!  It is called Happy Birday and is made by Darcies.

Isn’t that birdy paper so cute?   The dotted paper was made with a stamp.

The card’s colors where chosen for this week’s Color Throwdown.

They are celebrating their 200th challenge and are offering some blog candy, so you need to go check it out!

The sketch I followed is for Freshly Made Sketches#43.

As always I so appreciate your wonderful comments!

Take care,
