Friend!

Hello,  I back from Vacation and I am happy to be hosting this week at Just Us Girls. I have this beautiful floral picture to the left for your inspiration!  It’s also our last week for our Guest Julia.  Thanks for being with us Julia!  Your cards have been really wonderful and it’s been a joy having you with us!

This card was made with all different brands…. MFT, SU, Gina K, and Spellbinders. If you have any questions…let me know.

Before I go I would like to add a few pics of my travels out west this summer.  I was so very fortunate to meet up with two blogging friends once again.  Hubby and I were blessed to stay with my good friend and (fellow STB DT member ) Colleen and her husband Scott out in Oregon. They were such gracious hosts and we enjoyed our time with them immensely!!! I felt as if I was staying at a five star bed and breakfast.

After that, I also spent the entire day with another blogging friend that I have met once before, thanks to Colleen, her name is Linda!  She lives on the outskirts of Seattle and also has such a beautiful home!! The guys dropped me off at her place while they spent the day golfing. We went shopping at Impress, had a fabulous lunch, and talked for hours in her beautiful home. It was so comfortable, it was as if we had been friends for life!

Let me just say, that this community of stampers has really brought so much joy to my life. I am so thankful for these two ladies and many others that I have met, and hope to meet many more in the years to come!  Heart Hugs, Nanc’

Stripes…

Hello, The Summer is going too fast (insert crying sound here) and we have our next challenge starting once again over at Seize the Birthday. The topping this time around is Stripes.  I have recreated a card I made a while ago, but is always so much fun to do.  I adore this painter palette from Paper Smooches .  I am trying once again to give some of my older supplies some love, I mean that’s why we bought them right?  Not to use them once and file them away!

We have the talented Trina still with us as our guest at Seize the Birthday!

Card details : Happy-Neat and Tangled, Scalloped Rectangles and Birthday die-MFT, Palette and Paint strokes-Paper Smooches

Come join us over at STB, we would love to have you! Happy Stamping, Nanc’

Life’s a Beach…

Hello,  We have a very fun Trend for you this week at Just Us Girls.  I don’t believe I could ever tire of making watercolor backgrounds, and since we are in the middle of a very hot Summer, that is where my idea took me. My only goof, is that you can see the blue peeking out from under my raised cloud and I am not a fan.  Can’t be completely satisfied…LOL.

Come check out the rest of the teams designs along with our Guest Julia!

Stamp Set is from: Kitchen Sink

Happy crafting, Nanc’

Monochrome at The Flower Challenge

Hello,  Hope your day is going well!  Today’s card all started with the negative piece of my very last card I posted.  I also wanted to join in this months The Flower Challenge where the theme is Monochrome.  It’s always fun and a bit challenging to me to make a card in basically all one color, but when it’s pink, it makes it all that much easier. LOL I found this glittery pink heart in a bit box on my desk and I knew it was going to be the perfect added touch.  I made the banner myself with a left over piece of scrap too. How many bit boxes do you have in your craft room? I have several, and vow to organize them by summers end…I can’t throw anything away.

A few card Details:  SU Paper that was colored with Oxide Inks, MFT Stitched Flowers, Verve sentiment and U die.

I hope you find sometime to get creative! Nanc’

Navy, Gold and Pink

There is a fabulous color trio over at The Color Throwdown and I wanted to make sure to play along.  Not only did the colors inspire me the picture of the Fireworks did too.

I decided to try and mimic all the streaks and colors in the sky with the splash watercoloring technique. At first I thought the flowers came out a bit too bold, but as I put the card together it started to grow on me.  I made my heart background with this very cool SU paper that works so well with Oxide inks. It does an ink resist.  I LOVE IT, but sadly I don’t believe it’s still available. I heat embossed my leaves with gold EP and punched them out with the coordinating SU punch.

I’m also linking this up over at The Paper Players where they have their 400th Celebration going on with prizes too. Congrats to The Paper Players for being around so long. We appreciate all your efforts and inspiration!

Finally, Once again over at CAS Watercolour where they have Splash Watercoloring technique challenge going on.

Thanks for stopping in…makes my day! Nanc’

Card Details: SU Flowers, leaves, and Punches, MFT Happy die and Heart die, Neat and Tangled Birthday stamp, SU background paper that I colored with Oxide inks, Nuvo drops and pink pearl accents.

Make Lemonade…

Hello, This week over at Just Us Girls we have a fun Word of the week! The word is Citrus! Of course the first thing to come to my mind in the heat of the summer is Lemonade! I have this fun little stamp set by Jillibean Soup that I got from my Local Stamp Store that I knew would do the trick. I colored the vellum Jar with my Copic markers. The rest of the card needs no explanation!

Before I go I would like to say a warm welcome to our Newest Guest Designer for the month-Julia Aston. We are very happy to have you with us Julia!

Please consider coming over to Just Us Girls and joining us this week! Take care and happy stamping, nanc’

CAS Christmas

Hello Friends, I have another Christmas card to share with you today and it’s for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.  The word they have for us this month is Poinsettia. I have this intricate poinsettia stamp from Verve that I just love and thought it might do the trick. I heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I decided to pair it up with this bold Alcohol ink paper that I made a few weeks ago. Besides being bow challenged it came out alright. I am going to put my Christmas greeting on the inside. The one inch stitched square die is from SU. The outer rectangle is from MFT.

I am also linking my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where it’s time for Clean and Simple.

Here is another one I made in a different color.

Thanks for stopping in! Nanc’

Oceans of Joy…

Hello, Hope your week is off to a good start! We have a very easy topping starting over at Seize the Birthday.  We would like for you to include sequins on your card and or project.  You can sprinkle them on as I have done here, or you could make a shaker card which some of the DT members have done. We also have a new Surprise Party Guest starting today over at STB, we have invited the very talented Trina Pham to join us for the next two months! Welcome Trina, so glad to have you along!

The Paper Players is celebrating their 400th challenge, which is amazing in itself.  I thought this card would be perfect to link up over there as well! Congrats to TPP!  They have some fabulous prizes up for grabs too! GO check it out!

Here are a few card details: Stencil-MFT-Bold Paisley, Stamps-Sunny Studios Oceans of Joy, MFT-Diagonal Stitch Rect., Leaves-Verve, Punches to make the under water sea life, and colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.

Splash Watercolouring

Hello,  Had some fun making these great backgrounds for the July CAS Watercolour Challenge.  The challenge was to use Splash Watercolouring on your project. This technique is always so fun and the results are generally good.  I can’t say I have never ended up with a muddy mess before… but haven’t we all! LOL. I have had these cute little Whales colored and on my desk for a couple of weeks now, and it was about time I got them back in the ocean where they belong.  The were colored with both Copics and Prismas.

I decided to get out my MFT wave die and cut up the fun background I created. The clouds are from SU. The stamp set is from Sunny Studios and called Oceans of Joy.  I am a bit addicted to my Wonky Rectangles from MFT if you haven’t noticed. I added some clear Nuvo drops but they are hard to see.

I am also going to link my card up over at CAS Mix UP Card Challenge ( thanks to Nancy L.), where they have asked us to Color our die cuts, stamping and your choice. Hopefully mixing both watercolors, copics and colored pencils will do the trick.

Below is the other card I made as well. I decided to leave the watercoloured panel alone for this card.

Do something creative every day! Nanc’
